Year 1 DW: Two skills on servants sounds like a good idea.
Year 2 DW: Yikes, people were mad. Lets fix the game by releasing something like Merlin.

TBF he doesn't COMPLETELY power creep them, Iri has a self Guts on NP and Invul on her S2 and Medea Lily can instantly bring someone all the way back from a guts proc.
Both are far more situational than he is though
@@aredjayc2858 except iri has terrible np gain. You are better off if she kills herself after she NPs because it's going to be difficult to get her second np. Asclepius provides that option: np, give every guts and die to enemy attack for the backline to come in. Even if he doesn't die, he can spam his np way better than iri.
@@lookingforlove839 True, but she still has a triple arts deck, even with poor np gain she can get her np regularly especially on a stall team. The main thing Asc really provides is more immediate benefit, where as Iri is better for long term benefit, although if DW did buff welfare servants more often she would be on the top of the list next to caster Liz.
@@yammoto148 With the way DW has been making battles, you can’t afford to wait. She is either ready when you need her, or someone dies, no middle ground. Best team I can imagine is Waver for the defense buffs and Rider Vinci or BB to help recharge after an NP sequence.

I'm in the same boat. I really don't care for Arjuna as a character and he's good, but not the end all be all, especially with the current quick meta and the upcoming arts meta. If I get him, I'll raise him because he's useful, but there's bigger fish to fry whether they be compatible with Skadi or Castoria, or have fun gimmicks.

Correct. He doesn't, but why choose him over the other meta options? What good would Arjuna's special damage do if you can slap black grail on Musashi and put her in with double Castoria?
Castoria should be July of next year. With a lot of desirable banners until then, that's not as much time as you'd think. Buster has always been inferior to arts. They had to intentionally gimp arts to give buster a chance (the low hit-count arts NPs) The only thing carrying it was Merlin. With Castoria being equal or greater to Merlin even in a challenge quest view, Arts is always going to dominate buster unless there's a specific NP or Arts resistance in the CQ. Merlin would have to be converted into an insta-win carry for the meta to shift to buster again or every buster servant having a 50% charge.

@@desolatorstorm142 Black grail on summer Musashi + Castoria will not as useful as Arjunalter on a single Boss CQ except you have NP 5 summer Musashi, Arjuna and Orion are on par with each other when it comes to CQ, you could see video on the internet where they clear many CQ.
You can choose wether to roll or not, but Arjuna Alter is worth all the SQ, sure Arts meta is great but Arjuna Alter still the best AoE berserker in the Game.
Arjuna Alter only have 1 rate up, you have more than a year before Castoria come, surely you could save SQ more than enough until then.
I'm JP player and F2P, i have Castoria NP2, Arjuna Alter, Space Ishtar NP 2, Summer Musashi, And every *5 Caster support in the game, if the CQ need me to loop NP sure i will use Arts team, but there's many CQ that require me to bring Arjuna alter team especially single Boss with more than 1 Million HP.
My Nightingale does all of that ezpz for 50x the investment.

In all serious thought, Asclepius I think are for people who missed Irisviel the 2nd time around, and offers a lot more utility outside survivability. Irisviel guts memes is still stupid if you own an MLB Prisma Cosmos which takes care of her detrimental NP gain.
The current status of dedicated healers on FGO are as follows:
□ Nightingale - Can act as a pivot DPS servant on longer fights (i.e. Boddhisattva Kiara). A crippling debuff upon NP towards the opponent and coupled with Damage Cuts can reduce NP damage to 0. With the introduction of Reines, she can safely enter fights now by utilizing Reines' NP to change her class affinity.
□ Irisviel - Probably been powercrept the most by Asclepius himself. Although Irisviel has the superior guts mechanics, Asclepius just offers way more utility with NP charge, debuff cleanse, and crippling the enemy. Irisviel has detrimental NP gain and damage that she can't quite maintain in a long fight unless equipped with an MLB Prisma Cosmos.
□ Medea Lily - Has the most problems as a dedicated healer. Same problems as Iri but without the all-desired Guts. Although her healing values are higher, poison mitigation is not something you need ALL the time. Guts are perpetually in demand since bosses just keeps on getting stronger and stronger as the game ages.
One thing that that Iri has over Asclepius: Survivability her guts works on her and she has a Invul.
But you don't really want the low damage servant with all her skills on cooldown to survive.
IMO Iris surviving is more of a downside.
She only gets in the way, lol

The funny thing is, you aren't actually too wrong. Asclepius is pronounced closer to "S(like saying the letter S)-clep(like clap, but with an e instead of a)-E(like saying the letter E)-oes(like T-oes)" with a really sharp S sound at the end, rather than "As-clep-E-us"
Yeah saving for Ass Claps is going to be rough, but will be so worth it in the end. Hopefully Gilfest and the upcoming Hunting Quests will cure my lack caster gems

I got a Lvl 100 Chaldea Livesaver CE ... been using it on all my support Casters since it gives Guts, NP Gain and a 3k HP .... Really gonna help this guy out too since he doesnt get his own guts

I’m mixed on this upcoming banner, the servants are really good and I’m not sure if I need Arjuna alter since I’m getting closer to having a servant for almost every situation and Arjuna alter is amazing but I can only see myself using him in challenge quests that have multiple enemy types because I’ll probably use the event servants for event farming and clearing low end farm nodes is good for him but not necessary. I still don’t have Merlin so there’s that problem and overall this year is pretty crazy with servants so I’m just saving for later. I’m also planning on doing a meme strategy with the saber wars 2 banner because the 4 star CE Mikotto! Bridal Training could save a servant but I’m saving that for a gimmick heal team. This year has a lot and while the stuff I’m waiting for isn’t around the corner I’m still overwhelmed because I don’t know how much this will cost. I also need to keep track of my money for other games as well buying gifts for friends and family. I won’t roll here but kind of want to, I wish everyone else good luck on this banner.

Had him wit Merlin and Lakshmi when I fought the 2nd encounter of goetia. I lasted for 32 turns when the demon decides to self destruct. Good thing guts did its thing and kept my 2 other servants alive to beat him up.
Asclepius can be used as a swap-out farming support too : 20% charge + 30% NP gain is always good to have around!
He won't support everyone (they need to have a decent refund of their own) but it can be done

Dr. Assclap saved my ass in the BBHotep fight. Sure I had an absolutely broken frontline but I wouldn't have gotten by without his Immunity and Cleanse.

TBH all Iri wants to do is to be Kiritsugu's wife... this is a win for her.
He is my main target, hopefully he comes soon to at least NP2.
Irsiviel out of the jobs? What jobs?
The reason why healers aren't popular is because the game balance post Camelot threw game balance out the door. The game prior to Camelot was pretty well balanced. Now at this point with mob damage being so high even on farming nodes the only way to win is to pedal to the metal on stacked dps buffs. Especially since boss hp is often extremely high, 2nd turn invincibility pierce full party wipe AoE, and crit/defense pierce buffs that render the tiny amount of hp that servants restore entirely pointless.
The only way that healers would be considered valuable again is to return the game balance to where it was pre Camelot. IE drastically reduce mob health and damage.
The people who say that the game had to get more difficulty and the spike in Camelot was needed are either liars or idiots. Games don't have to get more difficulty. There doesn't need to be powercreep. Plenty of games are mega fun and offer very little in the way of challenge at all. Instead they offer an incredibly immersive experience by faithfully implementing the game's story and setting to make the player feel like they are a part of the story and world endowed with agency instead of using completely arbitrary and capricious game board rules which ruin immersion and violate the story.
Yeah. There are SOME games that are incredibly fun without being difficult. The issue is that FGO doesn't try to be that. Games can be fun and easy experiences that only want the players to be immersed, but they can also be challenging in order to make players take the game seriously. RPGs do this excellently, and FGO is an RPG. Asking them to make the game easier doesn't fix any of the powercreep problems. And even still, the game is still somewhat balanced. While 1-3* will not be able to do the flashy min turn stuff that 5 stars can do, there is nothing in this game that cannot be compleyed by 1-3*. Complaining about difficulty doesn't have much of a leg to stand on.
Another reason that makes Asclepius is better debuff remover than Martha

I don't see myself using him nor Iri nor Medea lily, aside a meme solo with Irisviel I never use her, Medea lily is forgotten in my chaldea, she has a bit of overlap with Asclepius she heals more but he has more anti debuff and guts, I don't really care about guts in team since it's RNG if they get killed or not 10 times out of ten I'd rather use a buff block to stop the invul Peirce to happen than use guts, or the new OP effect our poster girl has. Or heck just debuff the fuck out of the enemy with attack down oh hi nightingale.

But yeah funny enough Tamamo Jeanne and Merlin are the best healers who actually help the team with damage boosters or support in inval or cooldown so irisviel while pretty and Medea and snek doctor just fall fast as they aren't needed as much.
I'm just trying to save so I got nothing to roll for. If I like him in story I'll try to roll him but honestly it's so little need for me.
@@ivanbluecool when I got nightingale my heart stopped, since it was a spook on Skadi banner. Thankfully I like her in comics so I skipped the stages of grief pretty quick.
They tried to make Asclepius not slow down the pace of the team which is why his Clear has a 20% battery with it and he has 30% np gain up for the team so it's clear they put alot of thought in how he would be balanced.
I need to work on my Nightingales S1 and S2 her 3T debuff immunity and self survival will come in handy at some point, thankfully she doubles as an attacker so it should work out.
This banner is an easy skip, been farming bells for Reines afterwards I'll farm some stakes on HQs and finish of with some QP grind to max her last skill.
We already peeked when it comes to the stalling meta with caster Artoria so there's nothing much they can do to stop it, even buff removal ain't as big of a threat as people make it out to be even if they have it on a set pattern you can still counter it without buff removal resistance.

Castoria still isn't Be all end all but she does make it so a lot of units can team up with her depending on the battle. Tamamo litteraly buffs the party for tons of damage and Merlin overtime np is great too.
Yeah I'll skip him looking forward for castoria. Lb 4 is basically the old meta for the year and rather move forward.
We saw buff removal with yagyuu Abigail and amakusa. If dw ups it it would just make speed teams better and we already know how to handle them anyways.
Also genshin impact I got Keqing. Now I have the girls I wanted aside Jean.
@@ivanbluecool take the proclaimed hardest fight in fgo, put caster Artoria in it and she trivialises all the gimmicks of the fight, from the invul pierce to the debuffs. Nothing kama does can beat a proper team with her in it. Pre caster Artoria pure stall setups where very hard using gimmicky units like nightingale and Edison to out the gimmicks and even with those it was RNG to clear it and RNG in a stall setup is deadly.
Yagyu was too weak any worthwhile archer can one punch the last bar.
Abigail the entire fight was balanced around mecha Liz or melt so It didn't even matter. Amakusa both times he had very low health in Shimosa and the apoch CQ so he was very easy to beat.

I feel that DW just forgot Irisviel at this point. Assclap is just better than her in most if not all situations.
I don't know about martha being wishy washy as her support offense kit as it is now is more useful than you make it sound. Granted she does ko like single targets but that's not really her job. Her job is to make the target as squishy as possible with 2 defense debuffs and provide a 2and or 1st set of heals and debuff removals if you're using her with the doc, nightingale medea lily, or irisviel while having 1 single target hitter.
