theres a little video tim henson uploaded of him writing two parts on piano, one chording and one melody, then playing both parts together on guitar. The piano bit sounds pretty simple and very good, but when he transferred to whole lot to the guitar it turns into the kind of thing we hear here. From there I think they just start embelleshing and taking liberties with the riff until its all wacky and all over the place. Amazing.

I'm comfortable enough to say that the younger generations are annihilating the boxes that even the most creative have constructed for ourselves back in the day. I used to say it has no hard or feeling or that it's 10 lb of s*** in the bag but really I could never think of doing it the way they do it. Lastly, I see a lot of people covering their licks or riffs and for a second it kind of has me thinking that what did you even so unique. But they created it. I completely disagree with you. It seems pretty obvious to me, they gave that absolute animal sitting behind the kit in this video, WAY more of a spotlight than the rest. Am I the only one seeing this? I mean, if you go back and take a look... That glorious, sexy, machine of a drummer is in the spotlight for about 3 mins and 35 seconds. And the rest of them? Well, after watching it again I'm wondering if there are even any other band members... Seriously, I'm only seeing a drummer guys. Well, the video must have been shot inside of someone's pants... Since, I can only see the drummer, it's obviously taking place where he's at. It's pretty, again obvious to those of us with ears, that he's in the pocket. For the entire video. Something that deserves an award... and hell, also a REward, in and of itself, considering what exactly he's having to drum to. Someone give this man some ice cream, a noble piece prize.. for being the most noble *piece* of kit that any guitar player could hope to have in their arsenal. Dude is absolutely bonkers... I don't even play drums, I play guitar... Yet I know exactly where my eyes are every time I come to cum watching this video.

The technicality these guys have is unmeasured.... dont get me wrong, the world is filled with incredible musicians, but something about Polyphia just makes them stand out above the rest. Polyphia is barely scratching the surface of technicality and music complexity, they are simply more easy on the eyes so anyone can pick up something from them and like it. Doesn't remove the merit they have just not the godlike status you gave them, they are far from it.
