Oh yeah, love Santitham! My dentist there is fantastic, and so many options just OFF the noisy main roads. I would walk that area all the time. Once stumbled upon a very quiet street, I think a block south of VP dental, east west road, with an apartment complex that was lovely. They welcomed me with tea and coffee and invited me to sit on their large outdoor patio and people watch and film what I saw. Amazing.

I liked it here Wayne Santitan it’s very reasonable priced a great hair barbers 💈 and plenty of shops and food it’s a nice place and it’s still authentic Wayne

Used to love hanging around Santitham when I lived in Chiang Mai, was about 12 years ago now...doesn't look like it's changed too much.
It's a great area to hang around, so much going on.

Great area that Wayne. Inexpensive and busy. Cheap accommodation and grub and everything you need around the area and as you said not far from central Chiang Mai and by the looks Santitham is very popular with farang who think they own the place. Had to laugh at that one 😂. Top video and adorable looking lady too may I add! Cheers mate 🤩

I didn't realize that is Santitham Road, I spent quite a lot of time on it but didn't realize the name. It was bustling, but not as much as it is now (there weren't many tourists back yet in February-March 2022). I prayed for rain every day but never got it! I need to come back during the rainy season.😄
You can have some of this rain haha. I'm praying for sun again.
I just left 5 days ago. It rained every day the previous 2 weeks except for the day before I left.

I think that's why I use a car as safer in the wet season then motorbikes. But I still want to learn how to ride a motorbike as all I have is a Thai drivers license for a car now. I do love walking around the side streets and exploring.

Yes sometimes I walk around when waiting for Anne to finish work, or go exploring on Saturdays, and go on Road trips often on a Sunday. But yes we will eventually bump into each other I think as we both live here @@WalkAboutWayne 😁

Favourite family run eatery at 4m35secs …. I eat there regularly, Crispy pork and kale is delicious, you should try it Wayne and let me know what you think.

Thanks! Yes, all laptops are used. The one I purchased had 8 battery cycles and was good as new.
Santitham is definitely interesting and more "authentic" (although I think that word can be loaded/misleading) than some parts of Chiang Mai. It's a bit too dirty and noisy for me, but that's just a personal thing. If you don't mind gritty and active -- or even like that -- then this is a nice part of Chiang Mai to spend some time in.
I'm not sure about dirty but it can get noisy. It's a great option for cheap living and meeting people. It's not for me, but I always recommend it. I would take Santitham over nearby Nimman, any day. But as you mentioned, just my opinion. Thanks

Hi Brian, I don't have a video where I buy the laptop but it was just around the corner from these shops in this video. All these shops will also be the same. I recommend checking everything before buying and ask for a warranty, they gave me 1 month warranty, which is better then nothing and gave me enough time to use it and see if any problems.

Maybe my comment of asking you where you lived came across very personal I really didn't mean it to. However many times you say I wouldn't live here and i wouldn't live there its all to busy to noisy etc etc. Well I'm with you on that I wouldn't want that either but it does leave me intrigued as to where you live or would live and what your advice as to where to look for accommodation would be.
No offense taken buddy, just some things I keep to myself for obvious reasons. Many great quiet Sois around the city. My area has noisy parts too. It's all about finding the area you like. My advice is, have a look around and find the area you like, then if you like quiet, find a quiet soi in that area. All areas have quiet streets. Thanks

Chiang Mai was one of the main Digital Nomad hubs in the world. IMO it's not as big as it use to be here, but Chiang Mai still has a great DN community. A lot of nomads go down on the Islands now also.
