Ive been in the US for 19 years and didnt become a citizen until last september. before that and specially while my citizenship application was being processed, the last thing I wanted was to get in trouble with the law. because they KNOW EVERYTHING. and you better not lie or try to hide anything during your interviews. I started skating pools in late 70,s so it was all brand new for everyone..i personally never liked upturned nose on boards..also same for me having a hard time carving frontside..matbe because you can't see fully where you are going.maybe wearing knee pads in case you bail then you learn how to not get hurt therefore your more aggressive hitting the very front side.we used wider wheels back then and boards were 10×30 standard size..dropping in at the end!!! now your a style king!!

Lucero 9,25 x 33 my go to shape. Ace 55 and hardest wheels ypu can find. Raisers and soft bushings. One thing /younger / street skaters don’t think about is that the overall length and specifically wheel base is more important than how wide the board is when riding transitions.

IMHO For bowl riding you don't need a wide stance really. Your back foot can be more to the pocket of the tail and your front just over the first two bolts (those closest to the center of the deck, not to the tail) or even slightly behind. That will keep you more center-balanced and with more room to adjust your feet when you start making tricks.
