ADIDAS SUPERSTAR OR CAKE? Incredibly Realistic Cakes | How To Cake It ft. Adelaine Morin

- To make these trendy Adidas Superstars out of cake, I began with 12lbs of my Ultimate Vanilla Cake dyed a bright buttercup yellow. I stacked each shoe up with 4 layers of sweet cake and filled them with my deliciously fluffy Italian meringue buttercream. The shoes are then covered in layers of fondant - I used various tools such as my turkeyskinator, canvas, and a grid textured rolling pin to add texture. I used thin black fondant for the final details and to make the classic Adidas stripes, then completed the shoe with the Adidas logo! Can you tell these shoes are made of cake? It’s funny bc I’ve seen lots of cake artist do shoe cakes. But I was so excited to see Yolanda’s. Bc I knew with her neatness and intricate nature, she would absolutely nail it. And she did. 💜💜💜👟👟👟👟

I love watching you work; your attention to detail is amazing! My favorite shows are when you stick to plain flavors of vanilla and/or chocolate, without any other flavors or textures (no nuts, fruit, etc) because it's great to see what you can do with "ordinary" cake, buttercream and fondant, AND you produce something that I could eat!!
Um... If she sees this, I feel a good challenge every year ending would be for her to tackle a HUGE and/or detailed cake. It would be difficult, but the endproduct would be so satisfying!!!
