This channel reminds me of Southpawracer and his old "how to ruin a racetrack series" only its fixing bad tracks, and with better production value! i love it!
That's brilliant with the reverse direction mate, making turn 1 an overtaking spot, and the last turn to do switch back and racing to the line as a drag race, just like ham vs alonso in bahrain at Turn 8
Great stuff!! Only thing I would have done differently is the turn combination at the right hand end of the circuit. I think you had the right idea there, but I think that a more distinctive triple apex turn (a bit like the kink at Suzuka) would be way more exciting to drive. From my experience (a mobile game, but still) it just looks like it would be a bit of a cluncky turn. Btw, I subbed a couple of days ago! Keep it up
Apparently redesigning Paul Ricard is dangerous territory. I remember a couple years back there was a challenge for Paul Ricard on the race track designs subreddit. I made a submission and got absolutely PUMMELED by people who were not just offended by my submission, but that anyone would dare even suggest a redesign of the circuit. To me and in my opinion only, PR is the most lifeless and uninteresting major circuit ever created. The entire grounds could be bulldozed and a circuit could be paved over the footpaths carved by pedestrians and result in a more inspiring layout. I think you did a genuinely good job in your design here, but it's still just polishing a turd.
Love the fact that u’ve decided to reverse it, opens a whole new perspective... Would’ve loved for the first part of the chicane at the end of the Mistral straight to be tighter, so that drivers have to really slam on the brakes... Nice work as always❤
Well one things for sure. The runoff is a whole lot prettier. I'd love if you could do a track like Yas Marina. I think if you do do that, I have two of my own ideas in mind. 1.) Make the turn 6-7 chicane less sharp and maybe open up the width. 2.) Remove the weird double apex thing of turn 10-11 and just make it one turn.
Wow from turn 1 to the Monza chicane and from the last turn to turn 1 it's literally no real braking. I would enlarge a bunch the road in the braking point of the Virage du Camp, so you have two major overtake points and here a divebomb overtake point. Spot on configuration though.
excellent! a circuit that could be better explored by F1! I would place an elevation at the end of the mistral straight, close to the chicane that you redesigned, thus making a kind of Eau Rouge
bro amazing content, 10/10 designs and 10/10 editing youve earned a sub 😊 i love how you take the time to do these my suggestion for next tracks: yas marina, imola, and my favorite track marina bay(pls marina bay)
Could you make circuits of the subscribers that is, you show the circuits of the subscribers and you give the grade it would be cool if you want of course
Looks awesome, only c=thing I would change is maybe adding a small chicane in the pit entry (similar to Miami) to make sure the cars slow down since they'd be near their top speed if not at it
heres a fun video idea, try building a new circuit in Rio's Olympic Park, where the old Jacarepaguá Circuit used to be, without fully destroying the Park :V
I would love if you could find some way to put these tracks into something like asseto corsa. I bet that’s a lot of work but seeing you redesign these track makes me want to drive them so badly!
How do you make this videos 😮. I want to make a track too, I already have the layout on Earth, but I want to make an step forward 😢. Please tell me how yo do this tracks... Or perhaps if you can make my layout as a real track 🥺? What program do you use?
Very good, i completely forgot you can reverse the direction. I wouldve kept the original direction, used the fastest t1, and then redesign the the complex before the mistral straight to be just a hard breaking hairpin, i would restore the mistral straight to its former glory, no chicanes so that turn at the end can hopefully be not flat out but almost, would be intresting, might catch out some cocky drivers and they will be in for a huge moment, then idk what to do for the last sector, probably leave it as is, fast and flowing and the final turn idk if i should leave it as for overtakes but kill the flow or just make it another fast flowing curve that leads you onto the start finish straight hoping that the now fast flowing design of the circuit is good for overtakes. Ive probably violated multiple saftey regulations with my design Just realised ive probably only got 1 hard breaking zone😅
Since cars are travelling at such high speed at the end of the lap, and cars need to go to the pits, I would've added a chicane in the pit entry to slow them down.
@@funwithsometracks And for good racing action nowadays you still need DRS and heavy braking zones. Its hard to follow a car in the last sector leading on the start finish straight. That makes overtaking in T1 not easy. I guess the same goes for the first sector ... 🤔
I don't know if you know. But the pit entrance that you "redesigned" has already existed in a similar way for several years. The opposite direction of racing is nonsense.
I prefer gravel-only run-off areas, but I usually design mixed run-off areas with gravel and tarmac, and adapt them to each circuit as it exists. Maybe it's hard to distinguish in this video :D
Get Tilke OUT, and get this man IN
:D
super travail du circuit Paul _Ricard

Thanks! Some say that I ruin the racetracks! Everyone has their opinions, and it's nice to know them :)
Love ur work man. Keep it going. Hopefully you can make it to the top of F1 when it comes to track design
Thanks :)
FIA needs to hire this guy right now
Lets go. An upload!

Thanks! Well observed, I could have drawn it better :D
A combination of kink + parabolic turn like turn 9 in austria would also be epic, except that the parabolic part is much more agressive.

Why would they be so offended? What's the stigma around it anyways that makes everyone whine like an insatiable toddler?
@@timmyc9915 Buddy, I don't know, but apparently I ruined someone's Christmas.

oh i love this layout, man this would be so awesome irl, can't wait to see what you come up with next
The Straight before the final 2 fast turns and the slow chicane, need a barrier between that
Of course, if not, it would be like figure 8 racing :D
Haha yeah :)

I Love This Redesign! I Agree.

It needs more hard braking zones. I think there's a few corners that could serve in that capacity.

i would like to see your changes on COTA
For the next video, try updating the Estoril circuit in Portugal to accommodate the modern F1 cars if possible
That track is already FIA Grade 1 so I think it's good.

surprised you didn't add a barrier to separate the new chicane and the flat out section going the opposite way. Good idea reversing the track though 👍

Dude do you even know what you are doing? It doesn't make any sense adding so many medium fast corners a random chicanes where no one can overtake
This track also has nothing to be fixed. Stop trying to fix legendary tracks and start fixing stupid Tilkedromes instead
This is how to make a circuit more horrible than it was...
