Spearfishing Southern California - Winter 2021

Put together some clips from a few different dives in Los Angeles County this February. Winter diving here in California is tough with cold water and not many game fish around but it's still a great time to practice. Looking forward to some warm water and pelagic species coming soon!

How do you know which sharks are dangerous or not?

The only “dangerous” sharks around the mainland here are white sharks. So pretty much anything else isn’t a threat unless it’s trying to steal your fish

Shark attacks are super-rare. It's good to keep an eye on anything large in the water... enjoy a sighting, don't freak out, and statistically you have nothing to worry about

What dive mask with GoPro mount do you use? I've tried the octomasks free diver version and it was so uncomfortable!

The PATALACHI off Amazon. None of them are gonna be very comfortable you just have to get used to it.

La Jolla and Sunset are two different spots with different kelp beds, but no. This is all from LA County.
