3:10 "Also, to do the transition, it has to be the clip in front" Not necessarily. You can do it with the other clip too. The problem is you have on the ripple feature. That's the button with the image of ripples that is two button to the right of the magnet button you also have on for snapping. That's why every time you moved a clip to the left or right the other clips followed suit. That's what the ripple feature does. There's more than one way to create transitions in Shotcut. So if the clip you want to make a transition with has enough footage you can also create a transition by dragging one of the ends onto the other clip.
Thank you so much TJFREE for all the useful tutorials. This one and the LMMS one are my pick and I'm starting to have a good grasp of them as I watch your videos (probably gonna try Natron too since I've only discovered it in your channel :o). I did use Sony Vegas and FL Studio (both cracked versions) before that but now I'm trying to work more cleanly and those two are great solutions!
Let's say I have several photos in the timeline and now I want to add a dissolve transition to all of them at the same time, otherwise it will take long time to do one by one. Good video thanks.
Hi! What about apply the transition for multiples clips at the same time, instead drag one by one, apply to the hole track? Is it possible? Thank you very much!
Thanks for the tutorial. It is really amazing. I have a problem. I have 2 videos One where I am talking to the screen the other one is my PC screen recording. In my project I want to play first 20-25 seconds of first video in full screen and when second video starts I want my first video to show as small screen in bottom right corner. But I want a smooth transition of turning full screen to small screen in bottom right corner. Please help
I am quite new to Shotcut, but do find it a very good program. However, transitions are a bit of a problem. Is there any way, to perhaps set up multiple transitions at one time, each with the exact same options / length. It's a bit annoying having to one-by-one drag the right clip over the left one and try to position it to exactly match a previous one, say 24 frames in length.
Thank you for the video but I have a problem. When I added an audio track , where the video intersected a audio was affected. What can I do to corrected .
Excellent. Complete God send of a video and channel for that matter. Q. How can I make the export faster without loosing much quality in shotcut. A 30min video to TH-cam quality is taking 3hrs to export
How to Undo the transition outside of using the "undo" button? As in I am working on a project I have saved already that has transitions throughout and I need to remove the transition but keep the original clips at the full length.
Thanks this video help me out to understand the shotcut video editing , very well explain, if you have a video using obs software it help a lot for live streaming
yo i whant this glow efect but i can t overlap cuz is a video i have 2 clips and one must go from 0 to 50 glow and the second must go from 50 to 0 how do i do that? bro please
Good question. If you hover the cursor to the top the left of the first clip, a circle will appear. Click and drag it to the right to create the length of the fade in. When the clip is selected, this fade can be adjusted under the properties tab. Hope that helps!
Good job , Thanks for making it slow enough to follow . I think some guys are showing off on how fast they move thru and makes it's pointless to follow . For a newby it's not helping me .
@@TJFREE I am making a photo memory video for my Nana as she is starting to loose her memory and this helped a lot and it's good how you got strait to the point.
@@jaynus9429 That's great. I did something similar for my grandparents, and found Darktable very useful for improving and resizing older photographs before bringing them into Shotcut. Best of luck to you!

Another excellent video. A bit ambiguous when you say "the clip in front", which chronologically is actually "the clip after".
I am quite new to Shotcut, but do find it a very good program.
