From Mazzy: Basically I had 15’ each that I had for twenty years and needed 5’ equal lengths. He made these up and brought big bed when he installed my Hana blue cart earlier this year. But I only just installed the speaker cache ten days ago
Thanks for the heads up that the Dookie One Step will be cut by Chris Bellman. I have a 2008 Kevin Gray cut, but with Bellman cutting the One Step, I am willing to give it a shot.
Mazzy mentioned the “Doors” self-titled shootout that Jason Roxas did where he compared an OG Monarch to the Rhino. He disparaged Jason unfairly. All Jason did was a live shootout and offered his opinion and allowed listeners to form their own opinion. Jason should be complimented for a job well done. I agreed with Jason the OG did sound better, however, I will buy the Rhino once available and do my own shootout. Very disappointing that the panel didn’t discuss the OG - Rhino shootout. Mazzy just squashed Jason’s shootout, unfairly in my opinion. Cheers.
Heh, Steve, I bet you like the THUNDERING sound of your MFSL Zeppelin II better now, don't you...? 😁 But hey, that is still very cool to have the Classic Records pressing. Just the other day I was listening to the Classic Records Zeppelin I, and *F'n WOW* Bro! That thing kicks some SERIOUS @ss mate! (even Tom Port gave that one a 'B-' 😃)
@@stevewestman7774 I think maybe why Patrick and some others quickly dismiss ALL of the older MFSL pressings is the EQ. BUT... on my system with the tall multi-driver open baffle dipole line arrays with 13 drivers a side + 2-15" biamped woofers, what comes across on good recordings mostly is the depth, dynamics and soundstage. And the power and dimension of the MFSL Zeppelin II has that in F'n spades! 😁 For me personally, and especially on my system (and that is specifically why it was designed that way) I'll take a very dynamic and powerful presentation with a huge soundstage any day even if the EQ isn't technically 'Perfect' Same exact reason why the CBS 1/2 speed Abraxas sounds so amazing on my system too! And conversely, that is precisely why many of the Abbey Road 1/2 speed pressings sound so flat and non-dimensional on my system, it REALLY shows that up.
Eddie Hazel and Allan Toussaint are both interesting titles. I like Rhino's choices, at least what they are able to license since they obv can't get access to everything they want to release. The Funkadelic's Maggot Brain has become more popular over the years, we see people talk about it more on videos. So the Eddie Hazel should be a welcome surprise for some that never see it available. Also, they are available in the stores.
steve how are you getting packages via canada post? i sent a package to canada via usps in nyc and its been sitting at the post office here for a month! i assume its because of the strike in canada but you’re getting packages?
I’m with George on the target meet the Beatles. Mine sounded a bit dull with good bass but would have like it a bit brighter. Didn’t notice the inner groove distortion, but maybe that was what I heard that made it dull to my ears.
Rhino HiFi Black Sabbath sold out in a few days. Doors Box sold fast. It's not "same old" when people get their album all analogue and high quality under the supervision of a master engineer. I didn't want to buy a Black Sabbath picture disc box set. That was a waste to me. That was an example of "same old." The Doors Box, ZZ Box, and Black Sabbath Album are the first of these albums I have bought. This new series is going to fill a niche for the eclectic record collector. I do hope they stick to ALL ANALOGUE.
What speaker wire did Mazzy use that made such a difference in his system? I’ve been looking for my own tbh
I will ask him.

Great show guys. I don’t necessarily care about mofi gate… I do agree w Mazzy, the new pressings since new plant seem MUCH BETTER!!!
Thanks for tuning in. The new plant seems to be doing really well.
Great to see the Power-Team back together! Nathan needs to come back on at some point as well!

I gotta get that Dookie by Green Day for sure.
Limited to 3000
Didn’t quite catch the pressing of COTC that Patrick mentioned, beyond it being UK. Was that a particular matrix/ID?

All sent by courier.

Good to know. Thank you. 🙏

I like G Borden a lot and agree with him frequently but he's wrong about the new Beatles box in my opinion
He only has the Meet The Beatles Target edition. So maybe that one sounds different then the black vinyl version?
