It sounds Warmer and Smoother more than the others which is exactly what you need in a Tube Mic. The Pure Tube sounds Big and Thick more than all of the other mics which is exactly what the Pros look for when it comes to microphones
I had the Avatone CV-12 and I can vouch for the mic itself being an incredible male vocal mic, the overall build quality of the mic itself is fantastic, included components feel on the cheaper side, but overall it’s amazing for the price point you can’t go wrong, especially as this used to be $499.00 for the longest time and is now $399.00 I definitely plan to have one in my arsenal.

I'm wondering why you left out so many other simlar price range tube mics out of this..Knowing that some of them surely were better than your worse one you have. You said the Warm Audio WA-251 had "9 different Polar Patterns" is this correct??
TF 39 sounded best in my opinion in your voice. I am looking for a tube/valve microphone and i am so intrigued by the sE Electronics Gemini ii , what is your view in this particular microphone?
Great comparison, thanks for the video! Just my opinion, but I would lose the autotune. You have a really nice voice; imperfection is what makes us sound human and compelling (IMHO).
The thing to listen for first is the sibilance. All the SSS, FFF, TTT noises. IMO the WA-8000 gets them up front without that cheap China condenser distortion, nice and clear, crisp and without sounding brittle. But purely considering sibilance, the winner for me is the Lewitt. Zero hissy fizzy gristly grainy SSS and FFF, but absolutely clean and undistorted. Would not have expected that! The Copperhead has a weird dip in the mids, over-emphasized the lows and overall sounds dull to me. I find the Avantone hissy and farty and spitty and distorted in the sibilance, does nothing for me, also many horror stories of things going wrong with this. I had hoped to fall in love with the WA-251, just to talk myself out of investing in a Telefunken TF51, but sadly it did absolutely nothing for me, I failed to detect any character or personality. Lewitt for perfection (that will require EQ later) and WA-8000 for aggressive in-your-face crispness without distortion. Thanks for this!
Hey bro I have the Wa-8000 wondering about getting another mic what tube mic would recommend was looking at the 251 warm audio but what other options yu think would be a upgrade from the 8000
Are you aware that you are killing your mics by positioning them with the capsule at the top? Tubes heat up and heat rises damaging the capsules. Turn them upside-down so that there is no heat damage. SAVE YOUR MICS!!!
My condenser mic is crushed because I used to turn it upside down and it slipped out once or twice. It still works well (I think) but it looks smushed now

@@EdwardSmithMusic Thanks for your super quick reply! I own a few WA mics (not the CX12 - it's not my cup of tea) and 2 preamps - would agree in some points that there are some production issues in detail. Lucky me none are about the mic sound quality.
That tf39 sounds beautiful 🥲 the price 🥲
I'm wondering why you left out so many other simlar price range tube mics out of this..Knowing that some of them surely were better than your worse one you have. You said the Warm Audio WA-251 had "9 different Polar Patterns" is this correct??
Nice song? Which song is this?
do we need external mic pream for tube mic ?
Çok güzel içerik çok teşekkür ederim
TF 39 sounded best in my opinion in your voice. I am looking for a tube/valve microphone and i am so intrigued by the sE Electronics Gemini ii , what is your view in this particular microphone?
I haven't got my hands on the Gemini ii just yet. Hopefully soon 💪
Great comparison, thanks for the video!
Just my opinion, but I would lose the autotune. You have a really nice voice; imperfection is what makes us sound human and compelling (IMHO).
I wanna try Tube 😭😭😭😭
Why didn't you take the WA47 in this comparison?
The WA-47 is a great mic, and could definelty challenge some of these.
@@EdwardSmithMusic Would you prefer it over the wa251 and wa8000 if i want deeper sounding vocals with more body?
is possible to use mic pream with tube mic?
Can the pure tube fit into a different shock mount ?
1st-Pure Tube, 2nd TF39 . The rest drop off significantly.
"What microphone do you choose?"
@@user-go7nx1kf8m Telefunken TF51
Rode K2 is a great one.
I’m just waiting for him to give his biggest fan a mic 😅
This guy trying to put on his best “radio announcer” voice is hilarious 😂
And he yodle all the dam Time when he sing
Too much compression and eq on these vocals. Great voice though! would sound more commercial if you’d ease up on the eq
Can you power them using the 48v feature on an audio interface or do you need the external power source? Specifically wondering about the cv 12
Tube mics require the external power source, which comes with the mic. They don't use 48v.
the best cv-12 and w8000, cv-12 is the best for this price i think, but in condenser world of mic`s we have soyuz and se mics with the same price
But do these mics auto-tune?!?
Hey bro I have the Wa-8000 wondering about getting another mic what tube mic would recommend was looking at the 251 warm audio but what other options yu think would be a upgrade from the 8000
Is it too harsh? I’m stuck between the 251 and c800 for rap
@@craigwilson2568 for a rap I would go 800 251 is a more well rounded mic tho if record more than rap vocals
CM800T
I prefer the tf51
Just returned the Telefunken for the WA-8000. The Telefunken was way too dark for my voice!
8000 👍
Why not adding the Vanguard v13? Definitely a winner in that category
Are you aware that you are killing your mics by positioning them with the capsule at the top? Tubes heat up and heat rises damaging the capsules. Turn them upside-down so that there is no heat damage. SAVE YOUR MICS!!!
😂😂😂🤦🏽♂️
Thanks I needed to know that before I purchased my first tube mic
Thinking about it I have seen most tube mics upside down in reviews.
My condenser mic is crushed because I used to turn it upside down and it slipped out once or twice. It still works well (I think) but it looks smushed now
