Just wanted to let you know that I have been enjoying your videos. I ran across your channel while looking for solo tips for Terraforming Mars and then started watching some of you other videos. Thanks to you I now have two new games in my collection, Roll Player, and Clank! both fantastic games. Keep up the good work!

I never had a dog that could draw cards or spin spinner either. :D I used to play a lot of solo games, too. I loved a game called "Ambush!" and would take over the kitchen table for days at a time playing it. I can't seem to find time to play many games these days other than one day a week.

Your awesome young lady. For solo games I like Deep Space D-6. I am not a solo player but will bring this out once a month and play 2-3 games.
Really like your channel, as a matter of fact I need to go back and get some videos of yours to play games for game night with the guys. I can put them on a flash drive and bring my small TV and we can watch how to play the game. Makes it easier on me, I suck at explaining games and you are great at it. I play games with an 80, 70, 60 and me 57 year old guys. If you are in SC let me know you can come play with us on Friday nights. :) Keep doing the great work. Before you know it your daughter will playing games with you all the time. Believe me my 24 year old daughter loves board games. We just played The Quacks of Quedlinburg today. Loved it. She kicked my butt 70 to 59.

I love you and I miss you so much. All I want to do is play games for three days straight. I want to eat breakfast, get twitchy, and go play a game. Eat lunch, stare at the dragon table till everyone else gets a clue, and play another game. Rinse, repeat.

We actually have a version of "Life" with dogs, called "A Dog's Life". Embarrassed to reveal that. I officially have too many games. However... I can highly recommend "Ganz Schon Clever" as a good, quick game with a solo mode. Easy to break off in the middle of a game, too. It is more fun than it looks.

I love Defenders solo! 4 characters and see how they interact with each other.

Do you like to choose characters at random or do you like to create your party?

@@TheDragonTable Oh my word...I'm sorry: I never saw that you asked this and I just stopped by to see if you might have put a new video! For the characters, I like to pick 1 and then get the other 3 at random. While there are obviously some better/worse combos; I love seeing how they work together even if it's a hot mess. My last game I did all random and it was: Rogue, Thief, Seeker and Mariner. It was the worse I have ever done but I still loved it.

When I was a kid, I could only play by myself and pretending that I was the other player is how I had to do it. I played chess that way too. I LOVE Defenders of the Realm. Do you have any of the expansion characters? You should look up the Con called UCon. It is a small con and it is VARY, VARY, VARY, family friendly. 3&4yo friendly and older. Not to mention the adults. Are you familiar with A Lonesome Gamer TH-cam channel? If not you should check it out. He only plays by himself and his list of solo rules for games is freely available. You can watch him play and hit pause when needed. Really he has a amazing channel.

We were in a similar boat. You should check out some of App driven games. The New Mansions of Madness, & X-Com are really good even with a single player. I have played those. I have heard the Lord of the Ring journey is pretty good. All by Fantasy Flight Games.

I do have Mansions of Madness and like it, but I wish there were more scenarios to choose from. I found it getting stale. I'll have to look into Lord of the Rings Journey.

I forgot that Steam has a tabletop simulator!

I mean obviously it's not the real thing, but it's worth it even just to try out new games you're interested in (assuming they're in the workshop). Also you can save the game and go back at any point.

I want to get one, Roll Player or Clank...which should I get first?

That's a tough call. They're such different games. Deck building versus dice rolling and manipulation. I vote both! XD

I feel your pain waiting for my six year old to reach the sit and play age. On a different topic have you tried some of the 15 mm miniature games like useme or patrol agnis they have solo options.

    • @TheDragonTable
      @TheDragonTable  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I haven't tried those games. I'm already trying to introduce my daughter to gaming. We play games like Yeti in My Spaghetti and Toc Toc Woodman.

Try Castles and Catapults. Large pieces, and they are not fragile, aannnnndddddd they are so big they can't be eaten. Dirt simple rules.
