The Milder Lecture 2024 presented by Alan Newby of Rolls-Royce | Festival of Research 2024

In this keynote lecture, Alan Newby, Director of Aerospace Technology and Future Programmes at Rolls-Royce discusses sustainability in aviation, sharing what the aviation industry is doing to improve its carbon footprint and achieve Net Zero by 2025.
Alan leads the integration of new product development at Rolls-Royce across the aerospace businesses globally and has accountability for the formulation and delivery of the supporting research and technology programmes.
The Mildner Lecture is held biennially by the Electronic and Electrical Engineering Department at UCL in memory of alumnus Raymond Charles Mildner who made major contributions to the technology of power and communication cables. His work spanned an interdisciplinary spectrum from electromagnetic theory through to materials science.
