By 17 she had a baby. Even without living with our mother daily she still became exactly like her. I was put into a children's home at 12 so I had some positive role models to undo her upbringing. She refused to allow me home for vacation until I was 16. By then I had built a new family from the kids that were in the same place.
The fact that Megan didn't seem to get the massive, massive difference between a high fever and two broken legs make me question how she even got into collage.
There are colleges where the minimum requirement is being able to tell the difference between red and yellow, but something tells me even that would be difficult for Megan.

The first time he came he stayed for 10 mins. Day 5 my mil brought me daughter to see me. I broke down cuz he didnt seem to care. Mil called him later and reemed him. He showed up but he wouldn't talk to me I mean thirty minutes he sat watching tv wouldnt even look at me. Told his mom. . Glad it wasnt me she was mad at....wow. Marriage last 3 yrs. He told me last i saw him that i would die old and alone. He passed, at 65, alone. 2 yrs ago. Ha! Take that Don

Gosh my kids knew how to do that, my now ex-wife was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks due to her gallbladder causing pancreatitis and i worked and came home and took care of our then 2 kids one of which was a month old with formula problems, and talked to her daily on the phone, she was in a hospital 40 minutes away. To this day she knows how reliable I am and told me she almost called to take her to the hospital one night het now husband refused to because he had to go to work the next day, LoL

As the mother, why didn’t she teach/require her daughter to do some of the chores around the house? Why didn’t she require respect from her daughter? Why allow her to get that spoiled? Then blame the daughter? You taught her that! As a parent (never mind the husband/father since he was pretty useless) you are supposed to teach your kids to be able to grow up and away from you - does not sound like OP did that.
Some kids soak up peer pressure, peer opinions, like a sponge. It was just one mother against the husband and the whole university lifestyle.

Your spouse doesn’t have to sign for a divorce. A judge grants it in court.
In Wisconsin you can actually get a divorce over the phone or video chat.
@@Helen-ml3pu It’s still a COURT ORDER, and video chat is still considered COURT. You get sworn in, and I’m don’t believe you’re accurate about over only a phone call. No way to give proof of ID, or who you actually are. A judge still has to grant that divorce, and you still don’t have to have spousal agreement to become divorced. If you could just call and not produce any type of ID imagine how much chaos people could create. You’re made at the neighbours so you could divorce them? I don’t think so.

This is far fetched unless in traction who stays in hospital for a broken bone. I stayed in hospital for 2 days for a new hip and drove myself home and I am in my 80's

Gosh my kids knew how to do that, my now ex-wife was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks due to her gallbladder causing pancreatitis and i worked and came home and took care of our then 2 kids one of which was a month old with formula problems, and talked to her daily on the phone, she was in a hospital 40 minutes away. To this day she knows how reliable I am and told me she almost called to take her to the hospital one night het now husband refused to because he had to go to work the next day, LoL
The main character should have reminded her scumbag of a (thankfully eventual ex) husband of their wedding vows - "love, honor, and obey" and "in sickness and in health"...

Someone, please explain to me why these parents don't teach their kids how to cook and clean. This is why you don't spoil your kids. You're not doing them any favors by NOT teaching them basic life skills. There is no reason in the world, Megan should be talking to her mom like that. This is a classic example of spare the rod, spoil the child. Don't assume your child is going to grow up to be a good person. Children HAVE to be taught how to be good people. How did Megan get into college with a non-functioning brain? What kind of fuzzy logic is that? My brain is in pain after hearing that. Megan and Greg took OP for granted because she spoiled them. Some of them won’t learn. Trust me. I tried teaching sewing cooking cleaning and gardening to all three. They all have basic sewing and cleaning skills. Two of them can cook and only one can garden. Same kids same instruction. They will regret it later

Ohmygod- part of LIFE is rolling with punches!! How old is this daughter?! And how selfish and dumb is the husband?!! Actually, this is kinda her fault too- she should have nipped this behaviour in the bud FOREVER ago, as soon as the kid started walking and talking. NOBODY LIKES DOING HOUSEWORK!! That's why its easier to do it together as a FAMILY- this is not a family, its just a bunch a roomate jerks.
