The ROG Ally X is good for those who havent gotten the original Ally

@@SpiderGytDude this is not the ROG ALLY 2, this is a refresh of the original Rog Ally X, the ROG ALLY 2 will be coming out next year
@SpiderGyt Yeah the Ally X is more of a slight refresh to the original. If you are planning on waiting still for the Ally 2 you can still wait till next year.

Bros, I’ve got z1 extreme a month ago, using it as a pc playing fifa and use windows, apps TH-cam chrome video editing and gaming by connecting to 4k 43” TV should I be cool with just getting dope skin for it and continuing enjoying it or sell it for 500 and add 300 get an x one?)
Great minds think alike I was saying I should sell the z1 for 500 to lol😂 and grab this. I think it will be worth it especially if another one isn't coming out in a while I also use it in handheld a lot so the extra battery will be great!

I want an Ally w/ 32 GB of RAM, an upgrade to an 8TB SSD, and an OLED screen with the new 80wh battery. That would be a killer handheld, and would easily double as a portable PC for more than just gaming.

That thing would die so fast a handheld but it would be cool. I'm more intrigued in seeing what an arms processor could do in this thing at some point.
I'm not a huge gamer but I'm really excited about the prospect of a handheld PC that's smaller and stronger than a laptop. I have a steam account with no way to play the steam games, so I'm buying it to play a few games I've been curious about but honestly I'm really more excited to use this as a portable desktop PC for music production. I already pre-ordered this and day one I'm installing FL STUDIO on it and seeing if I can make beats and record vocals on it. If not I'm bringing it back because that's the main thing I'm using it for 😂 if it can't do that then I'll just cop a steamdeck to play the few games I want to play

They should've upgraded the screen but VRR is hard to get on a handheld rn so I see why they kept it. An OLED display would've been nice but they could only use what they could get. OLEDs with VRR just came out this year for labtops so we need to give it more time. To me I need a bigger screen now due to my age as I don't wane to wear readers rn haha. A bigger screen means more weight which is what I don't want. Yes weight is important to me too. The X would've been perfect with an 8" to 8.8" 16:10 display.
I would take current screen with more battery life.

Yes they change the placement of the card reader. Although it already has 1T of SSD I don't know if you still need more than that.

Nope. Can be replaced now that the daughter boards are so easily accessible. Shouldn't be too difficult. Gulikit sells decent hall sticks.

Ally ... It can play every game . I had both anf sold the Deck Oled ... The screen is better on Ally too even if it's not OLED. It's a much sharper and smoother screen than the Deck and still has really good colours.
Deck. Asus customer service is poo. Steam deck is more of a console experience rather than windows endless updates… which becomes a nightmare.

What's xg mobile port
usb4 port means you can hook up any GPU externally instead of the proprietary xg mobile which is underpowered and WAY over priced
@nickjacobsss Still doesn't help me with my $1000+ Xg mobile that won't work now and many others that purchased one. The USB port won't work, and the Xg mobile is a lot faster.
@@nickjacobsssUSB4 as much as I like it being universal is limited to 40GB p/s while the XGM port is at 60GB p/s. This will give you full bandwidth of higher demanding GPUs. No stuttering issues whatsoever. Asus should've kept it and just added another USB4 port but I'm not sure if the system could handle it. Right now bigger manufacturers are not using Oculink cause they're all waiting for TB5/USB5 to solve their issue. Oculink has the full 69GB p/s bandwidth and would've been more ideal at this time.
@@royalblazen9598yeah they should've kept it. That was one of the reason that made the Ally so cool to have. Luckily I got my 6850M XT for only $600. I also got a 2022 Flow X16 3060 labtop so the XGM is not a waste rn. It's mainly hooked up to my Ally with 2TB. I will still be using this combo for a few more years as I will pass it down to my daughter.
I also have a custom 4090 rig (Asus MB) that I made last year. I'm not looking to upgrade that for a bit. I'm looking to get a newer labtop from Asus later this year. Probably their Zephyrus 16 OLED with at least a 4080. It's strange that they didn't update their Flow labtops this year as I much prefer that form factor instead. Asus makes some awesome stuff and their UI is the best imo.

double battery, more storage, 8gb more ram and and its faster (very important on apu's), better thermals, better sticks, easier self servicing, better ergonomics, usb4 egpu support, second usb port, improved buttons, better ssd compatibility, the list goes on. It was already the best handheld, and now it's not even close. Sure an oled would have been cool, but the screen is already great and 120hz VRR, which the oled cant currently offer, and it would up the price significantly. all these upgrades for an extra $100 is already an insane value
