      Asking people to book a time in the lead form will increase the lead quality. We've found lead forms that require an opt-in (more intent) work well too. Sometimes we go as far as asking people for their zip code and/or address in the lead form.
      It really all depends on skillfulness of the contractor's sales team we're bringing in leads for.

    Was it your standard practice to leave your audience at 27-65 in the specified area with no further targeting of interests? I’m never sure about my audience for HVAC. In my area, 27-65 gives me an audience of about 65,000. It’s fairly rural.

    • @CheviePublicover
      @CheviePublicover  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Back in the day I used to test out different audience interests and segments but I have found ever since iOS 14 broad is better. I’d usually run two audiences, one broad and one lookalike of engagers etc.

    Q: For home services, do you need to select the "Real Estate" category for FB? That is, are HVAC companies, home remodeling companies, interior designers, etc. still considered a restricted advertising category by Facebook? If I show a picture of any home interior or exterior, will this trigger FB to categorize the ad as a real estate category ad?

    • @piecesofme8531
      @piecesofme8531 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As in, the "special ad category"

    • @CheviePublicover
      @CheviePublicover  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. I haven’t found a clear answer on this.
      I know many times fb’s algorithm scans text and images for things it may consider offensive or to be in special ad categories. It does say “housing repairs” but does not clarify here
      facebook.com/business/help/298000447747885
      I would suggest not using photos that would get triggered like photos of homes, or reduce that terminology in your ad copy. If you do indeed get triggered, then I would either try to appeal or select the special ads category.
      This will simply reduce some of the targeting capabilities, such as certain lookalike audiences etc. Basically pushes more broad targeting which still can perform quite well.
      Hopefully this helps!

    • @piecesofme8531
      @piecesofme8531 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CheviePublicover This was extremely helpful! With the special ad category, I know you cannot target zip codes, but how restrictive can you be with location targeting? Does it have to be a minimum mileage around selected geo-targets?

    what are your thoughts on ios 14 and the effect it might have??

    • @CheviePublicover
      @CheviePublicover  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question.
      I am quite curious to how it will play out and I’m honestly not sure the full scope of its impact yet. I still think Facebook ads are worth the ad spend although the tracking and conversions and possibly performance may decrease.
      I think it will become more difficult to get good results and that may deter some, but it will also force many to make their ads better, create more engaging content and make great Facebook ads experts more valuable.

    • @Tharrosmedia
      @Tharrosmedia 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to append data to the people coming in through Facebook and push it back to Facebook now. There are workarounds for it like using Hotjar. But, using the Conversion API should be enough - especially for contractors.

    Have you tried conversion campaigns for HVAC industry? Coz most leads that come in through lead gen ads are not picking up the phone even after setting up automatic sms & emails & qualifying questions.

    • @CheviePublicover
      @CheviePublicover  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes I have, conversion campaigns can work well too but you have to have the pixel set up on the website and conversions marked. (View page, fill out form) etc.
      I find they can have better quality leads but typically tend to cost a little bit more. Best thing to do is to track the difference between the two and see which performs better for book and sales rates.
      As for follow ups, automatic email & sms is always great. Makes a quick response. If the phone follow up is not soon after a lead it can be hard to get a hold of someone. You could also try testing call scheduling software with a conversion ad. This way a customer is booking an actual time to speak with you instead of you trying to get a hold of them.

    • @dhruv4983
      @dhruv4983 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CheviePublicover thanks this is exactly what i was thinking the Problem with conversion campaign is i am not getting much clicks on it i think it's the copy issue. We are giving a $69 tuneup so we're crafting it as get a full ac system tuneup worth $150 at just $69.
      Can you suggest what else should we offer? Or what's working good on industry right now?

    • @CheviePublicover
      @CheviePublicover  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dhruv4983 yea definitely look into your CTR that’s usually one of the first signs if your ad copy is performing well or not. If it is low it could be the ad itself, or possible the audience you are targeting.
      Some options would be to create some sort of urgency. Keep in mind Facebook users are not there to get a tune up. So your offer has to be compelling enough for them to engage. Try “On until end of the month” “only available to the first 50 people” things that create a bit of urgency.
      I would suggest testing different ad creatives, headlines and descriptions as well one by one and see if you can improve your engagement on the ad.

    • @CheviePublicover
      @CheviePublicover  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great things about conversion campaigns is you can setup retargeting based on the page the person has viewed.

    When a fb ads agency says they will get you 30 leads per month, how do they come to that number? Like how do they calculate?

    • @CheviePublicover
      @CheviePublicover  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s a great question and will probably depend on the company.
      I would guess they have experience in your niche and have built a system where they know the Average cost per lead range. Obviously that changes a lot per market. Southern California is much more competitive then a small rural town.
      So it’s probably based on a minimum ad spend. If the lead costs is for example $30-$60 per lead then they can basically say 30 leads for 900-1800 in ad spend etc.
