Hi Lok, Have you considered buying from the Apple refurb section (scroll to bottom of header screen) and buy last year's MBP 13 Retina 2015? Refurb computers from Apple are top notch. New battery, often new screen, you can't tell the difference. It also has the full 1 year warranty and you can still get Apple Care added. Free shipping and return if you're not happy within 14 days. Plus last year's MBP 13 still has all the ports you want and need for today, not in 2 years, and you save about 25-30% on similarly spec'd MBP 2016.
Until 1997, we were still ruled by the Brits. Just like Lok, I don't fancy a bit about the Chinese gov either and I'd much rather being ruled by them or being independent.

MacBook Air 2011, 4 GB RAM here. My only machine for all my videos. Renders 720p just fine. 1080p also ok, but takes much longer. Biggest problem is the 256 GB SSD drive btw, too small !
most of the rendering work is done on the cpu and with more recent programs, on the gpu (NVIDIA cuda, ATI stream). The editing arangements and previews neet more ram than the rendering. Same for photo editing. SSD is more important, especially with all the random reads in all the source files. On the T440 +nvidia, there was much difference between the 4gb it came with and the 8gb i upgraded it with the next day. Another 8gb didnt change rendering much, but editing is much smoother now. Replacing the dvdrom for another SSD was very usefull indeed. Ram is not that expensive, get as much upgrade as you can
