Hello from Argentina, my name is Mercedes you left me speechless with the thing we could see. I use art like therapy, rewarding hours of work. Nobody knows my work, I have sold some works, but I don't have a studio, jut paint in my living room but with the idea of putting together a page and hoping that someone discovers me.
Please don't spend any time waiting to be discovered. I did this for years. You have to be proactive in getting your work out there and seen as much as possible.
Thank you for sharing your studio, I am loving it. I also love plants and crystals, art supplies and good energies. What a wonderful space! You have inspired me to clean and reorganize my studio into more of a zen space. Thank you! Have a wonderful day! Looking forward to more of your videos :)
Your studio is so beautiful! Definitely inspires me how I would like my ideal studio to look like. I love how you talk through the process of your vision of your studio.
Thank you for sharing this…we are moving this fall and I will have a very small bedroom to create into my art studio. You have me some great inspiration, Jess!
Welcome and thank you so much for your lovely comments! So happy you are enjoying the little glimpses and best of luck with the move and creating your new studio space, oh so exciting
Long time follower and fan here. Something so peaceful and inspiring in your style and stories. I’m so happy to see your new adventures as a creative. Thank you!
So happy to have come across your channel today. I love your studio space and beautiful art. I’m going to do some major organizing now. Thanks for the inspiration!
Hi. Jess i am new to your channel. I was amazed by your Art Created Calm Art Studio. You also are an EXCELLENT and UNIQUE ARTIST, PERSONALITY. Thanky I Am Following Your Video s and Your Art CREATIONS. Have an Excellent Week, catch Your Video s Soon... Thanky fir Sharing...
This looks like an amazing calming inspiring space to creative. I love it. Also, I have to say the fire in that Labradorite was beautiful. Excited to see what you create in your new space.
First time follower. I’m also an artist but it’s rare that I paint because I have a full time job and because of that idk how to answer all the questions”who what where when how and why” with my hobby. I need to have a schedule or routine, idk how to “exercise” my art muscles lol. What is the ur routine like? What do you do for inspiration when you have a block besides looking for ideas online or in person? What makes you start in your art work? Do you reward yourself for accomplishing anything in your studio?
Welcome! I recommend allowing yourself to embrace exactly where you are, create for the joy of creation and see what type of things emerge. My schedule and routine changes from season to season… and sometimes week to week! But some artists have really planned out daily routines so it depends on what works for your creative process and your life right now. ✨
i really loved this video. i didn't want it to end - such calm, beauty, and talent. thank you for sharing your week. oh, that labradorite is so pretty 😍
TikTok brought me here. Although you have clearly been on TH-cam for a while, it is great to find you at the beginning of a new chapter. I’m trying to work out how to balance my part time job and my art practise and your videos help to provide some focus. I look forward to seeing how your business progresses.
Thank you so much for saying hello and best of luck in finding balance… I feel like that is my question every day on this path 😌 it is always changing.
So happy you are back and posting art videos again. 🎉 Really joyous. Might I ask what the long point on the pastel pencils and colored pencils offers? I’m aware many sharpen their tools like this yet I’ve never known what advantage there is to it. Thank you!
Thank you so much! The long tip mostly means that you can get side angles for shading that you can’t achieve with a shorter tip… it also looks really cool 🤓
Thank you, good to be back! And yes, my paper of choice is Strathmore mixed media. I’ve tried Bristol board too, but the surface is too smooth I think.
Hi! Thank you so much for sharing this with the world. :) Looooove your set up -- where did you get your drawers and the tempered glass? I could really use the same as an artist myself!
Oh, thank you! The tempered glass is from a table I had that I took apart :D and the drawers are Alex drawers from Ikea (so handy). One new and one that my partner found on Craigslist
Ahhh am always so happy to catch up on your videos Jess. And I have I have to ask, what was that app you were using at 7:33 in your video? it looked very interesting. Anyway, back to watching... :D
Congratulations on your new studio. It is beautiful and so peaceful. This is my dream to have a studio to do my art. My art supplies are all over the house also. Having the art supplies not in one place deters me from doing it. It is so much trouble getting everything together I lose interest.
Oh Jess welcome welcome! You were one of the first artists I watched in YT, that made me have urge to develop my own artistic practice. Your video was suggested to me and I didn’t recognize you at first, but then I started hearing your voice and I was like hhheeeyyy I know you!! So so happy to have found your videos again. You have always inspired me so much. Your studio is growing beautifully! Lots of hugs from Portugal
I make about 5% of my income from TH-cam (fluctuates depending on how engaged I am with it). I have always made almost all of my income from art and I like it that way bc it keeps it as the priority
Thanks for posting :) You have inspired me to start mine! Here's a vlog about a day of an nomadic artist who just starts her journey in a new place: th-cam.com/video/hU_Kxg6xmhc/w-d-xo.html

I am enjoying watching you put your studio together!! Can you share with me, how you hung your shelves?! Thank you!
Lovely video, enjoyed seeing your studio and art :)
Thank you! ✨
Thank you for sharing your setup. I am in the process of building out my studio too! Can I ask what you used as a stand for the butcher blocks?
I used the base of an existing desk that I had for the L shape, then for the long end I used the Alex drawers as the base
So happy to see you in my feed again 🥰
Oh hello! Ahhh it is so nice to see you here too ❤
So glad I found your channel, I’m also getting back into art and your video inspired me so much!😍 where do you edit your short videos?!

I love this so much Jess! Such a fun process to watch unfold and so inspiring as an artist myself!
Hi Emma! Lovely to see you here 🥰 unfolding is a perfect word. More to come ✨
Hello from Malaysia! I just love how you use such an intricate glass vessel for your erasers! You just elevated these average erasers LOL
Hello Jess so happy you are back! :) May I ask what kind of paper you used with those pastel pencils in the video? Thank you:)
Thank you, good to be back! And yes, my paper of choice is Strathmore mixed media. I’ve tried Bristol board too, but the surface is too smooth I think.
I loved this. Thanks.
Very beautiful studio 😻

Ahhh am always so happy to catch up on your videos Jess. And I have I have to ask, what was that app you were using at 7:33 in your video? it looked very interesting. Anyway, back to watching... :D
Oh hello ❤ it is Temply! I love it, I use it for shorts… it is not free, but has made the experience much more enjoyable for me
Beautiful studio! I’m curious about what sharpener you use to get your pencils that sharp…
It is called an Afmat, I made a little short about it if you want to see it in action 🤓
Congratulations on your new studio. It is beautiful and so peaceful. This is my dream to have a studio to do my art. My art supplies are all over the house also. Having the art supplies not in one place deters me from doing it. It is so much trouble getting everything together I lose interest.

Beautiful
Which pencil sharpener do you use for the pastels?
I use an Afmat sharpener, I made a little short about it recently in case you want to see it in action 🤓
@@studioxjess thanks
Where can you purchase your pieces?
For originals you can contact me directly and you can purchase reproductions on my website/Etsy or West Elm, Pottery Barn, Four Hands and such.
How do you sustain yourself financially? Only from art or other resources?
Only art and multiple art income streams, passive income is very helpful

Hello! Oh your comment made my morning 🥰 thank you so much for telling me that, I am so happy to be back!
Do you make more money off your art or TH-cam?
I make about 5% of my income from TH-cam (fluctuates depending on how engaged I am with it). I have always made almost all of my income from art and I like it that way bc it keeps it as the priority
