Oh Sweetheart I am so very sorry. My dad bailed on my sister and I when he had a new family. He also pulled the “well you didn’t reach out either” bs and here is what I have to say about that as a 42 yr old woman: your father is the adult; it was his responsibility. That bit about adopted kids not being loved the same as biological kids is such bullshit. My Dad adopted me and stripped my bio Dad of all his rights 20 years ago when I was 5 all because I said AS A 5 YEAR OLD that I was jealous that everyone in our family had the same last name except me. Not a day in my life has passed where I ever thought he treated me differently than my older sister, older brother (rip), and younger brother. My fiance was adopted by his Dad when he was 12 and it's almost the exact same situation. It's not that step or adoptive parents CAN'T love step kids or adopted kids the same, it's that they REFUSE to.
I really feel bad for this girl, I wish she didn't have such poor male role models, because I just know that's going to color her impression of men going forward if it hasn't already.
Never understood this nonsense, he is your father or she is your mother, so they deserve respect, why? That is not a person to respect!

@@KatVWine I would still suggest talking to stepdad. Mom clearly has a lot of issues and she can easily be lying about stepdad and telling stepdad something different.
