Because the W3 has THREE major endings: Dead Ciri, Empress Ciri and sort of witcher Ciri without the mutations. They could easily have taken another ending. This was just done to ram DEI/ESG down our throats.

Ciri was having 0.01% chance to becoming witcher at the end of witcher 3. She was a witch, able to make herself beautiful till she die, like all other witches in the Witcher Universum. ok man so, you cannot say something about trial of grasses, because you refer to books (judging by your comment) which are gonna differ significantly from witcher 4 because in books Ciri reounced magic, which meant that she couldn't use it at all after that and even Yeneffer wasn't able to turn it back for her, so Andrzej Sapkowski intended to make Ciri not to use magic anymore, yet CD ProjectRed changed it as we see in the cinematic and also they said in the interview that they are having way more freedom when it comes to Ciri's story compared to Geralt, so witcher 4 will be significantly way different from books that witcher 3. Also becoming a witcher is mainly yet not only alchemical process, first was training, then trail of grasses and then other processes and now when the cinematic has place, she has more effort and hardships of life than before and lastly she is older, which we know from the interwiew that the story is gonna take place at least a few years after witcher 3. Also the thing shown in the cinematic is gonna be a part of the story and we don't know which one, so it might be middle of her story, so we need bigger context.

First time watching your video, respect to your art! Devs mentioned, that the game takes place 3-4 years after the Witcher 3. So she’s not aged that bad. Nevertheless, there’s a real actress this time who’s playing Ciri, and so the character looks like her. She looks different, sure, but still pretty! I guess it kinda matches the book description! I am excited to see the Senua level facial animations, with UE5’s realistic skin textures. (I hope doesn’t sound wrong) Since, I think so far games’ realism is held back by human characters, especially skin and hair physics.

Ciri is absolutely gorgeous in the trailer. With the best part being she isn't trying to be. She's not even remotely dolled up, she's not even using eyeliner or eye shadow like she had in the Witcher 3. She's dressed for business. It's just her business happens to be, being a Witcher.

Even tho im struggling to understand some bits of trailer, it has nothing to do with Her looks, nor role in the game. Hope developers will deliver.
Ciri can not be a Witcher, girls or women cannot go through the trials. The woke have stuffed up the game. I have played the Witcher since the first one was out I love the game but sadly I will give this one a miss. Witcher go woke go broke 😔😔☹️😭

I'm Anti-woke myself yet see nothing remotely woke about the trailer. I'm an old CDPR fan that owns the other 3 games, and more than well aware of the woke direction CDPR went during and after Cyberpunk 2077 had been made, but I don't see any of that here.

All I can say is casuals are crying because the game isn't gonna be like they want it to be and they say that Ciri is looking bad, meanwhile everyone who liked the game and was in the topic knew that the game gonna be like that and Ciri was gonna be the protagonist of the new trilogy, also everyone who is deeply interested in the universe knows why Ciri looks the way she is and it makes absolute sense, yet casuals cry, because she isn't hot 20 girl from the videos they saw on orange yt and she isn't looking exacly like in witcher 3 (while in the time between story of witcher 3 and 4 is at least few years in which Ciri got older, passed many mutations in form of trial of grasses, experienced the hardships of being a witcher which all altered her look)
