Another great day, we came down via Coire Laire to meet up with the dismantled tramway which is actually part of the Parallel Road. While slightly longer, it is historically and geographically of interest.
Superb video James Done both for the 1st time just over a week ago Cloudy on Stob Coire A Mheadhion but on the way to Stob Coire Easian it cleared, absolutely spectacular views from then on in !!! Tough start to the Easian's steep and boggy but all worthwhile once you get higher up .
Nice one, i've not been up these two yet but the view of them from any Glencoe mountain is superb. The view of the Grey Corries, Mamores and Loch Treig looked brilliant. I'd quite like to get the train up, do these two and summit camp, then return by train via Corrour. Lexi is gorgeous, definitely looks like she had as good a day up the hills as you did, Spaniels run on Duracell batteries! 😂 Cheers!
Its a great set of hills, im sure you will enjoy them 😁 that would be a great way to do it, she is a typical crazy spaniel 😂 full of beans.. Cheers, James
Nice to see you out again, James - and Lexie too! Can I take it your knee has now improved? The water level of Loch Treig seems alarmingly low. Is this climate related, or what? I passed along that very stretch of railway just four weeks ago - not for the first time, but it's always a pleasure, such a nice part of the world! We were recalling the freight locomotive that derailed a while back - and had to be cut up on site. Must have been the most excitement our hermit guy had seen in years!!
Thanks Paul 😁 I rested my knee for a few weeks after this trip as the descent was a bit of a nightmare.. seems to be on the mend now! Yes the water level is low, not sure the reason but think it has been an exceptionally dry summer.. the railway is a great trip, looking forward to doing it again for the rest if the Corrour Munros 😁 Yes that must have been a highlight for the hermit 😂 Cheers, James
Given the interest in your knee I hope you update us? Superb outing with super views and excellent photography as usual. There is one aspect of climbing Munros that intrigues me and that is reporting the heights in meters. Back in the day it was in feet of course and a Munro was designated at 3000 feet. If we were Metric back when these were recorded I doubt if 914.4 meters would have been the benchmark but more like 1000 meters making that around 3280 feet, I wonder how many fewer that would be to get under the belt. 🙂
I had to rest my knee for 3 weeks after the descent of these Munros Glen - it seems to be on the mend, I will update in the next vid 😁 that is an interesting point, I have had a few comments saying I should be quoting them in feet as they were originally recorded that way.. It would certainly make it a bit easier with less munros to do - personally I like it the way it is 😁 I also wonder if they will resurvey the Munros in the future as im pretty sure it would promote/demote some.. lets hope not 😂 Cheers, James
Its improving now Annie 😁 This trip was a few weeks back now and I took a good break after it which seems to have helped, Lexi loved being out, she slept well that night 😂 Cheers, James
James, have you not posted Munro 155 yet? You said Stob Coire A Mheadhion was 156. But the Ben Alder 6 got you to 152, and there were only two Munros on the Ben Liu day. Where is 155? Not trying to be a d**k, just confused.
Very well spotted - your the only person to notice 😂 #155 was Ben Nevis via the Ledge route, I was with other people and didn’t film it (apart from me touching the top).. but I’m going to go back and film Nevis & the CMD arete next year & explain what happened 😁 Cheers, James
Wow superb view's 👏 👌 👍
Fantastic views.. its in my list :) Summer 2023 can't come quick enough :) 2 months free in my van soo many munros to choice from Merky

Thank you 😁 Well Done - Easian had the best views of the two so you didn’t miss out! Worth the steep and boggy ascent 😁

130 above 100m is the number, so still no small feat, but a fair bit easier than the 282 that measure up to the imperial standard

How is the knee? Terrific views, great video and lovely stills. Always good to see Lexi.

Knee still okay? Descending SCaM is a more thorough test for it.
Midges in October?! What is Scotland coming to!
My videos are filmed a few weeks in advance, so this was mid-September 😁 hopefully no midges now 😂
Enjoying your videos! 157+ munros is magnificent. Keep it up 😊
