Julia Jacklin - Pressure to Party (National Sawdust, NYC 5/9/24)

Julia Jacklin kicked off her multi-week Brooklyn residency at National Sawdust tonight with a beautiful solo show tonight. I ran into my friend Joe on the line and it was pleasure catching up. I'm glad I was able to make this, thanks to my friend Alex having an extra ticket. The last time Julia was in New York, I had skipped the show in order to see Florence and the Machine at MSG. Well this time I was able to catch Julia at the smallest venue in a while for a super intimate yet relaxed show. She proves that even without a band, she's able to captivate us as her audience. The ambiance was casual with Julia chatting between songs and telling us about her previous adventures in Las Vegas for the earlier tour residency.
