I love the square wave instruments. It's the GB hardware they kept in for backwards compatibility with GB and GBC games, and lots of GBA games exploited it and it makes for an excellent touch in a lot of them. All the percussion was the GB's noise instrument too.
If only Mega Man Zero games got to exploit the GBA hardware the right way. Instead, It had crappy soundtrack that gracefully got remastered not long afterwards. Still, the game soundtrack wasn't so good In general :(

Why do people hate this version of mario kart so much? Almost everyone seems to call it the worst in the series but I always considered it to be an improvement over super mario kart with better tracks, characters, music, items and gameplay style. The controls really are not as bad as people think. It's actually really straightforward to control with some practice. Most people I know play this game wrong. I always loved the art style and track design alot in this one. While I don't consider it to be the best in the series (mario kart 8 deluxe and double dash are my faves, what can I say I love double karts, special items, shine thief, bobomb blast and 200cc) I still have an absolute blast firing it up on my gba every once in a while. Tbh I actually enjoy revisiting this game more than I do of smk and Mk64.
Its because they jump into it thinking its going to handle like Mario kart ds and don't feel like adjusting to anything else or learning when to drift.
It is absolutely an improvement over Super Mario Kart but that will always get the kudos from being first in the series, plus the SNES is more popular than the GBA in the modding scene.

Actually, that OST is not really "full", it's missing a few tunes : The Single-Pak Multiplayer themes. But they are extremely hard to get, due to the flawed Single-Pak emulation on current GBA emulators.
I use real GBA's and plug an aux cord from the headphone jack to the line in on my PC and use Audacity to record it. And I don't mean the microphone jack either, I mean Line In, because it doesn't amplify and distort so it sounds really clean and nice.
This was my very first Mario Kart game. My first Mario game in general was Mario 64. My first Mario Party game was the first one. My first Zelda game was OOT. My first Kirby game was Kirby & the Amazing Mirror. My first Pokemon game was Pokemon Red & Blue. I was lucky to be old enough to get to experience these games. Not that new games are bad either, but still.

Something to add, this Is assuming the CPU would also always place on the same place as well. Otherwise, there Is a chance If you placed 4th place you could still randomly place 3rd, 2nd, or even 1st place. The chances must be very low for something like that to happen, though. It Is possible for the player to play with these chances, though, by intentionally hitting on those CPU around 1st 2nd 3rd place >.>

I'm going to be honest here this game along with mario kart ds and mario kart 7 are my personal favorite games in the mario kart series.
I'm a huge fan of Boo Lake, Broken Pier and those SMK Ghost Courses!
I like all the beach courses too, especially SNES Koopa Beach 2!
Cheese Land and Snowland have got to be my favorites in this OST.
