Yeah! She’s something special, isn’t she? Pure Velvet Perfection! This vocal arrangement was all Angelina, I have no doubt in collaboration with a stellar team including Rob Christie & Mery Zamani her Grandmother. She is a Master Storyteller. The video is shot in the same Antique Store that she did 'My Funny Valentine' on Valentine’s Day. I believe it is in LA near her home. I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. Thus the Antique store, She grew up studying and performing these classics. Did you notice that right foot raise it''s heal to cradle the guitar a couple of times in the performance. I was waiting for her to throw in a little shake to it in homage to the King. Could that have been intentional? That is Rob Christie on piano. Sister Juliette and a couple of Uncle Michael's Babies. I think that makes them cousins not nieces. Full Black Leather Bodysuit, the guitar from his concert in 68 and the hair a homage to Priscilla Presley. Yeah! She can bring tears to your eyes. Epic. Incredible. There are no words. Epic! Wow, Wow, Wow! Could it be more Beautiful? ♥👣👸🏻🎷

Absolutely amazing performance Angelina is so special, Cover of a Cover as the original artist who wrote and performed this song didn’t achieve with his version, then Elvis covered the song and it was a hit, the first two little girls in the video are Angelina’s cousins her managers children, the Eldest girl is Angelina’s sister Juliette, production input from Angelina’s Grandma who is a talented artist, love how Angelina pays tribute to Elvis with her black outfit and red guitar 🎸 and Pricilla Presley hair style, great reaction thanks 🙏

The song was written by Mark James. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, he is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of."
Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat". Angelina took a very different path in that she read and understood the lyrics and what Mark James intended when writing them . To my mind, her rendition is much truer to the emotions of the song.
The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins Aurora (first) and then Athena - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family.
Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. For me, that she started with the Bridge of the song is very significant and, I feel, very indicative of Angelina's "up front" transparency. She was declaring that it was important that their love did not die, and then carries on to say why she feels as she does. Others first say how they feel and then, almost as an afterthought, assure their love they don't want it to end. For me, it is whether I feel the singer is genuine about the situation and wishes it could be resolved or whether the singer understands the situation but thinks the blame is on her/his partner but feels the need to assure them they don't want it to end (until somebody else comes along).

I love how her approach to this song opens up the story, with its meaning and truth. It is a truth for our times---relationships of all kinds need trust in order to build what is good. So needed in the world of today and tomorrow. Thank you for taking the time to do this reaction. 💜

Right now, Lucy Thomas 17 (at last) cover and Robbie Dunbar 16(hallelujah) cover are the two best young up-and-coming female singers, hands down if anybody knows anything about vocals and I don't mean just tone
