I remember playing Tobal No. 1 when I was a little boy back in the day we had this game brings back memories when we lived Hyattsville, Maryland in a house I still got the full address where we lived it’s on my school record I remember playing Oliems in Quest Mode on television it was black and white a little messed up when I got back home after school in 97' that year in late 90s I love myself I miss my good life I miss my life I rewind my childhood to where good times I was 6 years old when I played this game as a kid but this came out in 1996 I was in elementary school that year long long time ago.
Same with me! The 90s were great! No bills, no stress, no rat race. I can even remember the smell of the air that time. The summers seemed to be everlasting! Nothing left!
@@GT-pl1wx yeah it was safe it was fun I loved it so much peace living my good life I miss the 90s I was born in 1991 and I miss going to elementary in '96 when this video game came out but I played it in '97 so many memories this brings back I loved this game I am trying to order this game on eBay and relive my childhood good life once again.
@@deontemerritt91 Yeah, I know what you mean. I think it's natural for people to be nostalgic, but maybe those who were fortunate enough to have a truly happy childhood are always going to miss it in some sense. There were things I didn't like about being young, but it was probably overall the most content I've been. I wish I still had the same kind of imagination I did then, though I do try to stay in touch with my creative side every once in a while. For older games I tend to just emulate them (or dig out my old discs, I still have everything in good condition!) but if you want a physical copy then eBay is probably the best option.
me too I played this game when I was little boy at age 6 brings back memories myself Deonte Merritt would come home after school played this game I got by my grandmom I played it downstairs in the basement.
I loved the music on this game. So dam happy. Brings back so many memories of my child hood. Quest mode was so difficult i was never able to get past it. Only got as far as Nork. The achievement was something youd get from a dark souls game, because once you died you had to start all the way from the beginning!
Oh man, this takes me way back. I used to love this game, and looking back the animations were pretty fluid. I had a particular fondness for the music on Mufu's stage, and I also played copious amounts of the quest mode. I unlocked Mufu and Mini-Nork, if I recall correctly, but I don't know if I got the emperor. Didn't the quest mode have some things in common with roguelikes? In my head I recall the item system was not too different from Azure Dreams which was a game I completely fell in love with. I believe the sequel, Tobal 2, was a Japan-exclusive, and I was quite annoyed about that although one time, my parents took me to a new game store that had opened, and they had set up an N64 with public multiplayer (the first time I ever played GoldenEye!) and they also had a PSX with Tobal 2 on it. Fun times.
The video is a bunch of pure nostaliga, I played this back in the days, so cool to find it now, thanks man, the champion ILL ( on stage 6 ) I remember i was so scared of him, i think im still... but what ever xd
i remember when me and my family first moved to Cali i was around 6 and my father got this game me and him would spend hours playing this i miss this game so much!
I loved this game. I always loved going for getting my opponent out of the ring. When playing with Chuji i used the dropkick if the opponent had his back close to the edge and if i had my back close to the edge i believe he was able to do a Tomoe Nage when grapping the opponent first.
this game is one of the fastest fighting games its not like Dragonball Z game using powers or stuff its all just a fighting game with fighting moves I had the game.

The creator of Dragon Ball was the artist of this game.
Dude I played this when I was 5 and I'm so happy I found it again. Thanks!
BerticusBersht glad you liked it man!!

Exceptinally smooth and believable animations plus cloth/hair simulation.
I am really impressed.
Glad you guys liked it man!!
the guy who made dbz designed it so duh lol
@@ih7345 Nice, I didn't know that.
@@ih7345 This game was a test game for Ehrgeiz, much like War Gods was a test game for Mortal Kombat 4.
You cant imagine how long i have been searching for this game. The quest mode was awesome as well. Thank you !
Glad someone likes it!!
Like the way you can move around the opponent…don’t think virtua fighter has this feature
i remember the quest mode! it was replayable!
Loved all the grappling counters

I never even knew that Akira Toriyama created my first fighting game.
Designed characters, he didn't create or direct the game
@@Needformadness2 no shit sherlock
we need remake of this game, the mechanic is so good, you see how the character react to the punch landed ...
the animations are so fluid, didnt know that was possible back then
Omg the intro brought back so many memories! The music
I use to love this game.
Rebel XD I did too childhood memories
I remember this game. I never realized, playing The Bouncer(Squaresoft's ps2 fighter), how much Sion fights like Chuji.
This game is pure awesomeness. It has so much Soul & the soundtrack is Funky af.
I was looking for this game for years , the great part about it , it had many combinations
Glad you guys liked it man!
I used to laugh at Mufu fighting stance.
This is an amazing gave 2018 n still playing this today

Still playing this game as of 2021

This was my first ps1 game
I always wonder why this games design has sort of a Dragon Ball feel to it and 19:24 has my answer.
Childhood memories unlocked
Udan looks like the mayor of Chicago 🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭
I love this game especially the maze
i remember when me and my family first moved to Cali i was around 6 and my father got this game me and him would spend hours playing this i miss this game so much!
Glad you liked it man!!
ONE OF THE BEST FIGHT GAMES
2019 anyone?? I remember on the case it said this game is so good you'll sell your Grandma!!!
Tobal no. 1 should get in Smash JUST for spite...
Fei wasnt going out without a fight lol
This was basically Tekken with Dragonball-like characters.
Nice vid! Great to see some more Tobal love on the 'tube!
so much memories... thanks for laying this.

no problem, glad you guys liked it!!

Ordered a rg350m and I plan on downloading this as soon as it comes in hope it runs smoothly or at all
its like dead or alive but easier
I loved this game because of quest mode
Ill Goga was a pain to fight
Virtua Fighter and Dragon Quest had a baby, they named him "Tobal".
The good ol days
I think this game would of been awesome as a beat them up, like the older Streets of rage.
This game was so bad but I still have fond memories XD
Glad you guys liked it man!!
why was mary's stage running in slow mo
Didnt the same people made this, Ehrgiez and the bouncer, not to mention shuji style is similar to sion's like Kenpo?
I finally found it, i remember, and wasn't brighter or maybe it was the 2
Awww the memories
Glad you liked it man!!
yes good memories
i still find it crazy now that im older and look back the designs are dbz related
thats because akira toriyama participated in the development of this game
its cool because beerus looks like he belongs in this game
i actually like the character designs
Was this ever remade?
Not that I know of man!
Good game
Glad you guys liked it man!
He has so many more cool combos
Is it just me or is this game really slow?
***** its probably the PAL version being played (50fps)
this game is one of the fastest fighting games its not like Dragonball Z game using powers or stuff its all just a fighting game with fighting moves I had the game.
Ye is slow
Damn Chuji is a budget version of Lee Chaolan LOL
the music!
I sort of think Mufu has a face like a frog. I remember when I first saw Nork as a child I was like "Whoa! He's huge!".
Possible?
Could have put some better combos together that's what the game was based on
Tee tahk tee tahk
I remember seeing this is the shop when I was really young, but I got Tekken 1& 2 instead... this is like a weird version of Tekken lol.
Tobal #1 is a decent game, but you made the right move buying Tekken instead.
Fei was ALWAYS the one I rage quit on
It's cool because it's Akira Toriyama's design
Glad you guys liked it man!
OnE oF mY fAvOrItE dBz GaMeS
Glad you guys liked it man!!
It looks like Virtua Fighter II

I remember not playing Tobal No. 1 that much. I only got it just to play the Final Fantasy VII interactive sampler disc.
Remake.
Maybe its just me, but I think this game needs a remake. I never played this game, but this feels like its got potential.
It doesn't have potential anymore.
This was the Virtua Fighter Ripoff for psx
it looks slow as f...
los peores diseños de toriyama (:V)
I hope that akira toriyama is fan of virtua fighter since the gameplay style is alot similar to that than tekken but kinda slower
