Thanks for the review. I found Sturdy a month ago and was looking for a YT review from a customer. I was really impressed with some of their videos about door rigidity.
I've had my Sturdy Safe for almost 13 years...I did my research prior to buying and soon came to learn all the tricks that the other safe companies use in the construction of their safes ie: type X fire board for fire lining and extra thick doors that are actually thin steel composite. Do your own research and you'll soon find out as well that Sturdy Safe is hands down the best safe on the market for the money.
Great review! The cosmetics and the interior would be pretty minor to me; I'm more concerned about a lot of steel and just security from theft. Looks like Sturdy Safe is the best deal out there in a true safe for guns.
The gasket your concerned with is used in boilers It's meant to withstand heat Easily replaceable Just go to a good commercial plumbing supply house with a sample and the can order it if they don't have it in stock
Thanks for the thorough review. After a lot of research Im going with a Sturdy. Clearly the best bang for the buck and like you said, a small american family business. 300 miles from where i live as well. Going with the standard upgrade and no fire lining since theres a fire station 400 yds from my house. Thanks again for the post and thanks for your service.
Nice review. We need more Study Safe review :). The one thing Sturdy Safe does not list in the spec, is the fire rating of their products. I have not idea what the rating is. I am about the order one small safe from them and opt for the fire lining and hope it holds up to the fire (at least 2 hours, as they said they used the real fire retardant materials). Yeah, they don't dress up the interior of their safes... wish they start looking into dressing it up a little bit.
Great review. Thanks. I am ordering the same with fireliner, but want to know how many long guns do you think you can fit in there...realistically and not counting the slots? Any issues so far? Thanks and have a Happy New Year!
You could try to angle your mosin also. Might fit if you support it on the middle rack and hav th butt to the right and muzzle to the left (probably want to wait until you glue the floor down). It looked like it didn't need much the clear the shelf, but you would need to have it behind the othe guns so as not to block them for quick acces which is probably not what you have a mosin for. Good video though, thank you.
Josh I can see the palusol seal on the door frame. Looks like a rubber seal. That stuff expands. The strip around the inside of the door is likely fiberglass. Google it if you think I'm wrong.
I keep hearing the word "Safe" attached to words like "Liberty" and "Fort Knox" and they are not safes. They are gun cabinets. Poorly constructed cheap crap that can be opened with a pair of screw drivers.
I know Fort Knox is not calling their safes 'safe', they are calling their safes "VAULT". I don't own one but I have seen and touch them in Gun Shows, they are pretty touch and I doubt your screw driver is going to do any damage to the Fort Knox safes... But I agree that Sturdy Safe appears to be a better safe for the money.
Well I picked up my FortKnox Used One below the top of the line Works well for me It's all about placement Having a safe placed like this one is in the video isn't the best placement as you can get at multiple sides
Jeremy Deville They skimp on the interior because you are getting a lot of safe for damn cheap. Besides, you can install a fully customized interior yourself for a couple hundred dollars or less.

Thanks for the excellent review and I appreciated the information on the logistics on the delivery.
Thanks for the review. I'm considering one of these. I have a ridgid job box right now that will become my ammo box when I get the safe.

Good info on the Mosin.
Is it even worth getting the fire lining???
Yes, you are more likely to loose your contents to a fire than to a burglary. I would recommend the liner.

Andrew August I have 14 scoped rifles in mine with the side selfs in. I could fit 2 more without taking out the selves
Never mind. Watched your video again.

RickyBobby BobbyRicky yea buy one. I'm about to buy a second one. I am very pleased with thier products
RickyBobby BobbyRicky oh and I would buy a taller one if I had to do it again
Thanks.
How did you get it in there? My Sturdy 36x72 is on the pallet in my garage. I know how to get it off the pallet, but then what? Any advice?
I used dowl rods as rollers. look on TH-cam tons of videos
I have a Sturdy. Good choice.
Nice review, thanks for your efforts. How thick is the steel? Thank you for your service.
That's not the expanding fire seal on the door, it's on the outside of the door frame.
Jeremy Day always an experts huh. Try again guy.

Josh The fiberglass on the door is there to give the palusol seal something to bond to when it expands.
Jeremy Day sturdy safes don't use palusol...
not sexy ha. Modified it.
But is it sturdy?!
sturdy af
holy shit dude stop talking about the damn shipping.
or you could go fuck yourself
+Josh That comeback didn't make any sense to my comment. You're a moron.
Still talking about the shipping.
Fort Polk? Your poor soul

It's all about placement

I bought a sturdy safe. I can assure you those shelves don't hold 40 lbs
