Challanger jax here. league guides in general scales with your knowledge ingame. The more u understand a game the more you will learn from guides. I really reccomend anyone with the intention of learning jax bookmarking this guide and watch it time to time. This is one of the really good guides that id reccomend to any tier of jax players
as someone whos just started learning jax and have around 30/40 games so far this guide is really nice and has some things ive missed out on as ive just been watching domisum replays to learn the champ so far.
Really nice video. 1) One thing would like to add is that before game, in lobby you can check the enemy's cooldowns on various websites, as Jax is very depending of knowing the match-up very well. For example I just looked up Darius, if you play vs a Darius, you can notice his E is 24 sec cooldown, so you can walk up, aa+W, E (preevtemply to block his W) and if he Es you back you just jump away with Q ( care so he doesn't pull you from the Q jump, that's disaster or be too close to his tower, then he can just run you down with ghost). Then, you have 9 seconds where you have E but he doesn't have it, so you can get a nice trade, or zone him away a bit from the wave, all the small advantages add up. 2) Would love to see trading paterns vs various match-ups. You showed a few in this video, but very little. I remember wickd has couple of videos on jax match-ups, but the video is really old. You can make like a compilation of 3-4 match-ups each video, if the lane is pure 1 v 1, no jg / supp roams. I think with time-stamps people can even check them before game, in lobby if you make like a 30 seconds introduction on how to play the match-up and then give 2-3 examples for people that want / have time to check further with specific runes, build, etc. There are numerous videos on Jax vs X/Y/Z champ, but most of them are VODS and you can't understand much ( why he's doing the things he's doing) and also in a lot of them Jax gets ahead because of some random fight 2v2,3v3,etc and if you are ahead, you play differently of course. If your e automatically recasts, you only get 1 divine sunderer proc, but if you manually recast your e after procing sunderer, it can come off cd and you can get 2 diving procs with 1 e. Usually good for pushing towers

Jax works great with any tank in JG, in early they hold enemies down for your dmg to ramp up (passive stacks and LT easier to stack up vs CCed enemy), later on they usually skip camps that you can farm. If your 2nd item of choice is Haulbreaker and your matchup doesn't require Mercs consider sitting on boots from rune without upgrading to Tier2 (ms soft cap). Remember to swap back and forth your trinket to force-update it every recall. (bonus wards to jump to) When facing tanks PoM rune is really good considering how mana hungry Jax is. (Garen matchup for me is best example when to take this rune over Triumf) If im ahead and enemy doesn't have a way to easily shut me down (point n' clicks cc, like fiddle/nautilus/mao). I like to get Dark Seal after mythic and boots. Dark Seal at base is 130% gold efficient (~325 gold worth of ap, ~130 gold worth of HP), while fully stacked you get ~1330g worth of stats. Even if you gonna sit on 0-3 stacks for the rest of the game "wasting" 220g on this item IS WORTH IT. (Jax AP ratios are really good so i don't even consider that 220g waste)

I love the part on side laning, I find in lower elo I have to lean more towards the split push the problem i'll get is either the support or adc will try to join even with the polite asking of them to leave the lane; or they'll get caught before I can get sufficient pressure onto the side lane just allowing the team to rotate towards. I can comfortably get the tier 2 towers down on the side lanes but struggle to break past the tier 3 in lower elo, even playing opposite to the objective.
Just spam ping them or flame them, if they don't listen the first time. Works 90% of the time for me. It's unfortunate you have to be toxic but if you want to win it's worth it
a suggestion to you Coach, I think you have to upgrade your Microphone cause sometimes I hear air sounds. i think that will make it a bit more professional content. that was my opinion keep it up great content
Looks like you end up missing the cannon after your proxy and cheater recall (@ 36:02). How often does that happen? Do you need to buy boots as a part of your first buy to not miss cannon?

will dono 100 USD from unranked to diamond lol. im so desperate on the verge of quiting the game. been stuck gold for 2 seasons on jax( partially due to time constraints) have gotten coached a few times, but it hasnt been enough to push me over my hump.
Here's a few recommendation from another fellow player - Have a game plan before the game (What is our winning condition ? Are we strong early ? When should I back ? How is the lane going to play out ? etc) - Manage your waves better (Slow push and accept rebounce are the 2 core concept to understand) - Play more macro and abuse number advantages (Push a side, leave and regroup with your team for fight ; 5vs5 -> the lane you have left is bleeding ressources for the ennemy team ; 5vs4 -> somebody went to fix the lane, you have number advantage) + Focus on objectives (drakes, heralds, nash and towers) ; you win by killing the nexus, not ennemies - Focus on your mental ; no ff mental, mute all if needed. Focus on you and what you did in the game, not if you won or lose (input oriented thinking) - Play more games : with 51% WR you will climb. If you don't enjoy the game, play another one, don't get frustated. Playing 2-3 games a day is already enough, especially if you give your all in those few games (around 14 to 21 games a week, I believe its enough) If you're intrested, I just it Emerald IV on my alt account, was Plat II last season, playing almost exclusively Garen. Not that it invalidates my take, but I know people like to know that shit ;)
@@Sonny_h1 In this context yes ; however there are many cases where you can contest the push back : it depends on if you win the 1vs1 and what you want / can do with the wave. But when you decide to accept the rebounce, you have to not trade with your opponent and keep you hp high, to not get dive. It's okay to lose a few cs as long as you get the xp. You'll get everything under tower (but then you need to know how to last hit under tower, and get ~80% of your cs at least). Of course, matchup changes things a bit, but this is a general comment on how to approach the waves.
I disagree greatly with most of the matchups. How in the hell is vladmir a skill matchup? Equally skilled players in an isolated scenario, vlad vs jax, should result in a win for vladmir, period.

Using E on the minion wave lvl1 is an extremely good advice. Ive been doing it myself. It gives me free base and item advantage %99 of the time

Never if you proxy the 4th wave, in this example I did the 5th wave which is less Ideal

I would recommend playing a hypercarry for low elo, shens a lot harder to carry with imo
Shen is pretty weak right now, you are just an ult/taunt bot and hope your team is good, play another champ if you want to carry.
