I take a look around a small cemetery close to Interstate 25, a noisy area with no parking. from the dates on some of the headstones, it appears this plot was created around the 1920s or much earlier. No car access. Majority of burials are unrecorded, or the headstones have been lost to the elements/vandalism.

Hello Friends ❤ Hope you found this interesting with no complaints
Just another way to honor some of the forgotten.
Nice off the wall excursion Big G. Glad your willing to do videos that are not all smiles & joy. Reality is what is is! Your sentiments and compassion for the deceased is appreciated. Thanks so much for your videos Buddy. We really appreciate them.
Thanks much!!

I remember that place. Used to drive by it everyday
Thanks for doing this video.....❤❤❤❤❤
My pleasure 😊
Interesting cemetery. It is fascinating to see the age of it and surrounding area.
It sure is.
I thought that was a scary place to park. Glad you made it up the ramps!
Yes, it was. Worried about it when I decided to do the video, during and until I got on the freeway. Blind curve🫨
@@eclecticvideosvlogsandmore yikes!
Thanks for taking us to pay respect to the buried there. I think it is so sad how some cemeteries are abandoned like that and that there are no names. The old Socorro Cemetery is super sad. Even worse markers, when there are any. 100s of 100s of them in the older part. I hate stepping on graves, but it's impossible not to. With this one, they'll probably wait another 10-20 years and then bulldoze it over, like there's no one there. No relations to stop it. :'(
Wow, that's poignant. I'll have to check that out next time there.
@@eclecticvideosvlogsandmore My great great grandfather's last wife is buried there. I go at least once a decade. She was a grand lady, as I have come to know from family researching. I had a painting of hers for several decades (I passed it on to other family members). That cemetery goes back to the 1800s (maybe earlier?) to present.
What a horrible place to end up. I've seen old 'forgotten' cemeteries before here in the Pacific NW but they had lovely trees and grass even though they weren't kept up.
I know, right?
Shame on the City of Albuquerque for not maintaining this cemetery. So sad and disrespectful.
It may not be city property.
@@eclecticvideosvlogsandmore says on line it is City property.
@@Sparkles505 Prob city appropriated property since it is close the the freeway, which is probably also land they took from citizens to build the highway. They're not going to upkeep something that they acquired by default like that. It's up to the citizens to keep up cemeteries like these, that no longer belong to a family, church, or parish. :/ We have such cemeteries down South. Some distant family members have formed groups that take care of upkeep after years (decades?) of neglect.
What freeway is that and what area is it in ABQ? Thanks BIg G.
