- Before marrying Britney Spears, Kevin Federline had a successful career as a backup dancer and a serious relationship with former Moesha actress, Shar Jackson, which resulted in the birth of their two children. It wasn't until meeting Spears one night that his life changed and in turn led to their marriage, the birth of their two sons, and a very public divorce. She had to pay Jason Alexander off too and so she was well aware of the potential risk. She paid for most everything during the entire marriage too. In interviews while she was still in love with him, she acknowledged she was the breadwinner. The child support in ratio to her income does not hurt her pocketbook at all. Look up her income-it's nothing to her. She also asked Justin to never disclose why they broke up and he avoided questions that would ever put Brit in a bad light. Did she pay them both or are they just being respectful? We really dont know. I work in family court and a judge looks at both parents income. So if Kevin is working, that definitely gets factored in. Also, Britney would not want to send the kids to some run down house where they couldn't have nice things and everything they want like they can at hers. The $ seems like alot to you and I, but ain't shit to her. In any divorce, the person who makes more money usually pays and it's also based on # of days with each parent. Lastly, people grow up. Brit and Kevin get along now and are in their mid 30s, people change a lot. We mature and gain more perspective and respect for others and ourselves.

However, with the mental state Britney was in back then, the judge gave Kevin sole custody. It's not like she wanted to ditch her kids and gave Kevin some money to take care of things. Justin, however, told details about their sex life on one show to go onto the next show to be all emotional about it. Okay here i go. Why the hate on this guy? Let us recall something...Britney had a full on mental breakdown in 2006-07 after years and years of living the kind of life she was living. The wholesome britney era 1997-2005 was just a scam. She was highly managed and highly controlled. She tried to quit the business or make songs she wanted to do (the original doll album) but people had sooo much power over her. SHe snapped. Yes drugs may have been involved but this was a full on mental attack (locking her kids in the bathroom instead of giving em away, driving all night from one place to another chasing/get chased by paps, crying in shopping stores) .
Former drug addicts (esp at age 28) dont get their parents granted conservator ships. She had major mental issues that she is still recovering from. You cannot pinpoint her troubles to kevin. The guy manned up and has been so far a great parent to her boys. Even in this interview, he was respectful about britney's privacy. Yes he s getting 20k a month. But guess what? he is taking care of her boys and those fellas deserve to be pampered with 20k because Britney loves her kids and wants to give them the best.
Why the hate on Ex-fed? Kevin spent Britney's like it was candy in clubs, buying drinks for everyone. He was always leaving Britney alone with the boy's, he was hardly there. Not only did the guy use her for her money but he cheated on her. Britney tried making their relationship work. Instead Kevin decided to cheat on Britney multiple of times by casually having sex with some chick while his wife was at home crying.
Also, those "drugs" you are referring too was due to a guy drugging Britney. Britney never willingly took drugs. Lynn Spears Britney's mother even said that a man named Sam Lutfi drugged Britney and manipulated Britney. According to her Sam told Britney if she wanted to see her boy's ever again she'd take the "pills". If he said to take five pills she would. Sam hid her dog from her. Britney would search frantically for her dog and freak out crying. Sam returned the dog to Britney like he was a "hero". Not once did Britney ever admit to doing drug's willingly. Even her parents said she didn't do them.

There were a lot of factors involved in Britney's breakdown mainly her bipolar disorder and the unusual scruitny of a life she was living since age 9 before kevin even stepped into the picture. Alcoholic father, round the clock working, faking every part of her public persona, no artistic freedom, worldwide fame and pressure. You add to that 2 boys back to back and postpartum depression - recipe for disaster. At the end of the day even though he was an ass, he stepped in for those boys at a highly vulnerable time and shielded em away from the public and continues to do so
