Nothing like an old school attitude exists. It's just better attitude that's why we remember it for the longer time and hence call the old school one. Truth is people just don't change that much in time. We just remember better things from the past. Most noticeable example of this phenomenon is in music. Old music is good but that is only because bad old music was forgotten and filtered out the same way as modern bad music is forgotten in a few years.

Why not eat quail is right!
Steven is changing everything with his articulation.
Too many hunting shows with too little philosophy these days. Hell, with any philosophy at all.

That is why I love meat eater so much, its not just about the awesome hunts he goes on. The way he articulates things so well is motivating and inspiring.
His videos would teach kids more about life than anything else at school could!

When I was young I killed my limit of squirrels and cleaned them all on a huge flat stump on the edge of the woods. Turned around to see a group of squirrels watching me gut and wrap their friends from startlingly close by. I could tell there was something odd about how they were behaving. Dead silent but comfortable, visible but not moving, watching me intently as we recognized each others presence and I finished. They animated slightly when I packed up but remained purposefully visible and oversaw as I left. I hope they judged me approvingly.

That’s cool. It’s amazing the moments you have in the woods “alone”.

damn right Quail is good!!! so is every form of self harvested wildlife as long as you have good ethics and respect your kill ......and it doesn't hurt to have some good seasoning also 😋...... seriously though,. there's no better feeling than going out into the woods, wetlands, desert, ocean wherever in nature and harvesting God's gifts of nourishment... especially for those who acknowledge and respect the whole realm of it all

I dont know about the whole polar bear thingy, and reasoning/rationalizing animals thing...but quail is good. Ha ha. I also agree that food does not necessarily have to taste good. Cuz the fact is that what tastes good to me, might not tadte good to you...and visa-versa. Love your show, Doode. Keep up the good work!

Steven articulates so well why you need to be respectful to the animals that provide the sustainence you need to survive. I cant stand the meat eaters who comments shit about eating 3kg of ribs to piss vegans off. Where's the consideration for the animal there? And youre eating to much damn meat

I was raised to respect the sacrifice and use all I could of the animals I killed due to my family tree tracing back to Native Americans. While I don't believe these creatures go to the afterlife to discuss the hunters who killed them, I do believe the practice makes you a better hunter as you respect your prey more and that makes you study and watch them more.

Yes indeed, I really enjoy your narrative on simple things.. when my dad gave me my first gun, Benjamin pump pellet.. the rule was if you kill it , you clean it, cook it, eat it ! Blue Jays are not as good as doves! As far as super duper good luck,, that's superstitious.. don't you know it's bad luck to be superstitious!. Lol

HEB or Walmart wont be around forever, there's where it won't matter what food tastes like, as long as you keep your family alive.

I might stay on my feet and keep my equilibrium
when you Chanel through into me I do not
know how anyone can be surprised if you eat enjoy and understand things in nature that they don't and you are close connection all things spirit ial you are country girl senterment
is fine but you practical experience is making good commen sense
is but thinking on your feet if you had not had this saffall you should not have made it through out life I depend
on your good sense myself as I say since my JJ had his brake down he a little less surquer
    but he is improving daily

Too many others wanting to show the kill only many times poorly shot sometimes more than once on soft game, no stalk or skills explained, no decent gralloch or butchery, no history or explanation...just the cheering...we wonder why we have so many against what we do, this is the way we must progress as hunters, the knowledge and verbal explanation offering cultural & historic association, good use of humanely dispatched wild game filmed with respect so even those opposed are show a balanced view. I am indigenous to my land and so claim those rights to hunt it and fish its shores, catching and cooking a meal over a fire you made is so primitively instinctive to me as checking a tweet is to the modern generation, I just don’t need to be micro managed by those with no cultural knowledge, it shows disrespect.
