What I learned from this video: Stretch Armstrong is level 3A, Scott is a kind heart that actually keeps his oath to his community to protect and serve. God bless everyone, especially those affected by the tornado.
The gelatin inside Stretch Armstrongs seems to function similar to non-newtonian fluids, where they act like a goop when just sitting there, but under impact and stress they become rigid and very resistant. The higher the impact and speed, the more resistant they become. This could be why they are so successful at stopping bullets of nearly any variety. I'm curious what the recently showcased 4 Bore would do to some of these.

4 bore black powder shotgun is equivalent to a modern full power 12 gage slug, both are about 5000 foot pounds, black powder automatically makes it 3-4x weaker. Also .700 nitro starts about 2x more expensive than a 4 bore shotgun and gets into the realm of 100k-250k. If you want purely unnecessary power then might as well go for the top with .950 JDJ, that's 38k foot pounds, like 3x more power than 50 bgm, pretty sure 20mm vulcan is the only thing out there that is more powerful.

I fully agree with you Clint. Scott, Thanks for giving me a Christmas present idea for all my Family. Everyone's getting a Kentucky Tough t-Shirt. Those in the US, UK, and me here in France ;) Keep up the good work, and thanks again for helping these people out.
Kind of interesting that the ones you hit with the lower calibers seemed to still be viscous on the inside. Yet the 700 nitro remnants look hard and brittle? Is that the heat from the round? Or some sort of shock? More testing should be done to see what's happening here. TH-cam likes science questions, right?
The shock. The stuff inside Stretch behaves similarly to oobleck, but thicker. It's just modified corn starch, after all. It moves like molasses with gentile pressure or sitting, but if you hit it hard enough it acts like a solid because it doesn't compress very well. The pistol rounds weren't destructive enough to the outer skin to show it hardening like that.
Hi I had left an unflattering comment b/c I'm really not into guns (just for absolute emergencies) and I don't gravitate toward gun culture, but I want to say that the 50 caliber blow up incident and how your father saved you was heart-wrenching and deeply moving. The fact that he said stretch Armstrong almost every other sentence was constantly making me laugh. Idk maybe I’m slap happy right now because I’m exhausted. Regardless this content is gold and I’m now subscribed to this channel.
Sportsman's Guide owes you double now lol... what a placement.
LMAO
That is the coolest thing I've ever seen man. Wow! I'd like to send my condolences to the families that have been effected by the tornado. I will be purchasing one or two of those shirts to help out. Thank you Scott for everything you do man.
I fully agree with you Clint.
Scott, Thanks for giving me a Christmas present idea for all my Family. Everyone's getting a Kentucky Tough t-Shirt. Those in the US, UK, and me here in France ;) Keep up the good work, and thanks again for helping these people out.
Our military should cover it’s vehicles with Stretch Armstrongs: it will protect the vehicles and creep out the enemy at the same time.
1:53 yeah, i feel you on that one scott. When my right knee herniated a disc doc said no more kneeling either 😅
Good on you Scott for doing what you gotta do to help out those in need, props man
I'm just about to get an armstrongs flack jacket! Thks for the tip Scot!
Hi I had left an unflattering comment b/c I'm really not into guns (just for absolute emergencies) and I don't gravitate toward gun culture, but I want to say that the 50 caliber blow up incident and how your father saved you was heart-wrenching and deeply moving. And I learned a lot from it. Please be safe.
That looks like fun 😄,, new to the channel. But I'm also from KY. Thanks for your dedication to this fine commonwealth I call home. God bless you brother for caring for the local folks. I'm ab 30 mi north of the damage. But it's awesome to see ppl come back together. I'm definitely get some shirts sir. Thank you and God bless you and your family.
So glad you and your family are safe. This is a great video.
Hope your all safe after recent events. Love the vids, keep them coming!
I love this! If I'm ever in a bad area, I'll just walk through with Stretch Armstrongs tied all around me and I'll be safe. :)
Love your content Scott!!!
KEEP IT UP!!!
Dude, that was Savage! 😆 Has anyone thought of making body armour from the same stuff that stretch is made from?
I was thinking the same thing, have some stretch armstrongs over a plate carrier,
I feel like scott misses the opportunity to say "This, is my BOOMSTICK" every time he whips out the 700nitro elephant gun
at 7:18, Number 4 Armstrong be like:- "weeeee!!!"
Those stretch Armstrong dolls are impressive. I can't believe they are taking those rouds like that.
Glad to see an upload… I was afraid the weather did something 😞.
Now on with the show.
Edit 6:52 😱 all I can say.
Kid “can we get stretch Armstrong?”
Mom “no, we have stretch Armstrong at home”
KB “yeah about that”
13:52 omg that laugh 🤣🤣. This video was fantastic omg.
They have experts on the ground in Kentucky assessing the damage. The tornado that hit Mayfield and several other towns was almost certainly an EF4, if not a 5. It may take another day or two for them to officially determine the true intensity of the tornado.
it was pretty bad, im in indiana and you could feel the air was just off the whole day
I'm in Kentucky, almost at the end of the line the tornado made. Not many of us slept that night but atleast we are alive.
@@P51Michael_ no kidding. i wish you and your folks well. you all keep your chins up, and your northern neighbors are worried about yall.
@@roadrunner681 I'm personally fine but go slightly south of me and it's crazy. At one point I heard the rain shift around my house and hit a different window. It was creepy.
@@P51Michael_ it was doing that up here along i70 my dogs were not happy and the weather alarm was going nuts. down there had to have been insane. im glad your safe dude
i never realised how tough stretch Armstrong's were , that was fun to watch 😄 you have to hit him with the 50 cal , and my heart goes out to all the people affected by the Tornados ,to my American cousins across the pond , i will invest in a Kentucky Strong T in the New year .
7:03 That was spectacular.
Stretch Armstrong continues to amaze me with his armor ability! Glad to see you’re doing well and back to shooting big guns! God bless!
This by far the BEST & most comical thing I've ever seen you shoot!! I'm literally Laughing so hard it hurts 🤣 THANKS SCOTT!!!
Hi Scott, I was really worried that I haven't heard from you since the accident. I think it's really great that you're collecting money for those affected to support them. I have also ordered it and hope to do my part. Here in Germany these hurricanes are awe-inspiring but we also notice here that the storms are getting worse. I and my family wish you all the best and, despite this misfortune, hopefully have a reasonably happy holiday. My English is not very good so I had to try google translation. I hope the translation is understandable. I wish you all the best and your videos are awesome and I am amazed at what you are doing. With best regards, Rainer from Germany
Dein Englisch ist gut; mein Deutsch ist nicht. Guten Tag aus America.
what are you talking about? he's put up lots of videos since the accident.
@@Ghelasin he meant the storm. he literally says he is using google translate. come on man.
Rainer your English is great love from Scotland my man
@@Ghelasin I'm not talking about the accident that luckily he survived. I meant the tornadoes and the storms. I was afraid that it would affect him
The dolls are made of some amazingly tough material ! Damn ! I thought the dolls would have been destroyed with the size of that round, but they sent it off on a tangent very quickly instead.
I wonder if the gel inside those things could be used for body armor, couple of layers of kevlar and gel... I wish I had the means to test it.
Loved the video and I have to say I was surprised at how the Armstrong's handled the .700 :-)
Im thinking of plated vest with kevlar joints and a 1.5 inch hollow steel plates all filled with whatever is inside stretch armstrong
So basically, after watching this video, I come to the conclusion that I should make myself a Stretch Armstrong body armor against firearms.
Love the content. Keep it coming man.
Revisiting past videos (cause they're absolutely fun content), but can we get some more subscriptions for such a humble guy, please? 😅
An officer who carries vows after service is a man I would marry. 😂
Have my babies, Kentucky. 🤣🤣🤣
Wow I can’t believe how strong the stretch arm strong is! All I have to do is buy 20 stretch arm strongs to have a bullet proof jacket lol
I wonder how effective a vest with that material inside it would be.
seems like better than nothing, although they are kinda thick and heavy
It would definitely help with bullet fragments vs steel
It's surprisingly effective.
I wonder if it could just be one massive layer of the stuff or would it need to be a modern gel equivalent of gambeson with little pockets? Like bullet resistant bubble wrap.
This is a little like that episode of Mythbusters where they find out most weapons above a handgun barely penetrate two feet of water, but the handguns will go up to eight feet, thus validating that one Hollywood bullet effect, to an extent, and that you can actually survive being shot if you're underwater.
yup, there’s a reason why harpoons aren’t bullets
"So here's some change I found in my truck" brought to you by Kentucky ballistics 😂 love it keep it up
Praying for all involved in the tornado damage. Stretch is a beast.
Hey Scott! Good to see you! I hope you and all of your loved ones are okay after the tornadoes. Blessings.
Matt has been looking for the next holy grail of body armor when Scott has had it this whole time 😂
Thank god you are ok, good to see you are nice and healthy, stay safe out there, keep doing what you do, and let's help Kentucky rise up from the ashes
