I knew him as Bruno at Cawston College near Norwich. It was always his dream and he made it happen. What people don't know is he is one of the kindest guys around, his attitude is a front. Would do ANYTHING for a friend.

Was never a heavyweight, remember seeing him quite often in ikon nightclub in Norwich. Always couldn’t believe he was heavyweight champ as he looked so small! More like a middleweight. Shows how hard he punched

Possibly one of the best cruiserweights in my lifetime. Too small like Haye to be a heavyweight but he was better than Usyk for me. If he’s been in his prime 10 years later he’d been bigger than Haye was. Never got the opportunities he deserved in my opinion. Incredible record

He got a shot at Klitschko and Bowe, opportunities don’t come any bigger, his last 20 fights were against bums, that’s why opportunities never arose after those fights.

@buckyballbeans yes he aint the worlds greatest heavyweights but he was still 2 x champion, he had skill he was out punching bowe, untill bowe would hit him with anything and hide would go down. I think he would have been a great cruserweight but lission mate styles make fights. herbie has a very weak chin and fucking hell holyfeild, byrd and moorer was great boxers, holyfeild won gold in the olyimpics and has got a chin. all had very good boxing and movment skills.

@buckyballbeans wtf you on about ok he had a very weak chin, he was the First person to knock out Tony Tucker both mike tyson and lennox lewis couldn't and lost to to great boxer riddick bowe he even had riddick bowe stund in there but lost because hes got such a weak chin and was beating vitali klitchko until got hit. If Herbie was had a solid chin he would of been great anyother thing the he was a cruserweight fighting in the heavyweight and still banhing them out.

  • @halleck3

I think if Hide had stayed at cruiser he'd have been one of the best ever. Moving up he just was giving up too much weight and power fighting the likes of a Bowe or a monster like Klitschko.

RyanSCarr Music 210lbs just making him a heavyweight, though the power in his punch meant he could compete with anyone in the division, bit like todays example of Deontay Wilder who routinely weighs in around the 215lbs mark, another less recent but still modern day example is David Haye who weighed in around 220 during his peak as a heavyweight.
