  • Here is the website to start the process

As I mentioned - for me, due to the address error, it cost me $75 USD per person.
I started in November 2022, got sent to the next step in August of 2023. Then it took us 3 months to complete the interview process vs doing it quickky in one stop at a land crossing.
Then the address glitch, caused a 3 month delay.
    Thanks for watching,

I really don't know where this journey called life will take me, but thanks for joining me on it.
I also have a lifestyle blog on the go, livingrobslife.blogspot.com/, and I am not 100% sure what that content will look like - which is part of the fun.
Here is a link to my other channel, where I try to put some of my thoughts and ideas here into practice. / deadnought

Wonderful information!! Would never have guessed on the timeline!! Wow!! Oh dear, that unit number, street number thing!! It will be interesting to know how it all goes the next time you travel to the US compared to just having a passport! All the best!!

as you approach retirement, it would help make travelling to take your wife on the vacations that she deserves - at least that is what my wife tells me I am supposed to be doing - taking her on more trips.

First of all congratulations on getting the card. Secondly thank you for making this video. Waiting for conditional approval. Applied on Jan 3 2024.
Now here's the thing, I became Canadian last year in Dec, got my Canadian passport in no time and then I put my nexus application on Jan 3 like I mentioned before. I have not yet traveled to the US, ever ! Do I need to do a few trips (fly/drive) in order to better prepare for the interview on both sides when my turn comes up? Im assuming that they will see me as non traveler and deny me nexus just on that factor.. thats my fear..
    Please reply 😊

I don't think you need to do that. But, if you want to - have fun.
I didn't travel much to the US, but plan on doing more travelling now that I am approaching retirement.
its more about "trusted traveller status" and pre-screening.
      good luck.

      Rob Hi...
I got the conditional approval today 😅
Now im seeing the appointment usa side tomorrow at Champlain EC (land crossing)
Should I do it right away ?
Also which one comes first ? Canadian side or US?
      Have to do both right?

    • @RobTruscott
      @RobTruscott  หลายเดือนก่อน

@@iashaikh20 at a land crossing, you can do both at once.

@@RobTruscott hi.. interview went well. Got approved in no time. Did it at Rainbow Bridge crossing Niagara border - Whirlpool EC
Now am i correct to conclude this card has tsa precheck and global entry and can also be used in sentri lanes ?

      @RobTruscott  หลายเดือนก่อน

@@iashaikh20 I don't know for sure - but I don't think it will help on the southern borders - Sentri,
but yes, it should allow for tsa precheck / global entry lanes - I haven't seen a problem yet.

Thanks. But can you help me with a few questions. I too am Canadian on east coast and booked for an interview in a couple of weeks. However, I choose to book the interview in Calais Maine. My understanding is that at that location they will do the Canadian and US interview requirements. I hope I am right on that. Do you know if that is correct?
It's next to impossible to reach a NEXUS office by phone to make an inquiry so I am hoping I am doing the right process to get both interviews complete.
Curious about your location, would it not be easier for you to do your US interview in Calais Maine instead of Boston.?
I feel the NEXUS card will be beneficial for sure but I can't wait for the entire process to be over and receive the card. It sure isn't an easy process. I guess that is why your video is necessary to try and help people through the process.
    Thanks!

yes, you should be able to do both at the same time - but might have to do it in 2 different conversations. I am not sure about that as I didn't do mine with a land crossing.
This is the difference of a land crossing - you get to do both at one crossing point.
For me, I needed to book my Canadian side appointment, go to the airport and head to customs office, then my part 2 was on my NEXT flight to the US, I had to ask to do my second part AFTER I cleared customs(Halifax is a US pre-clearance airport) - that is why we booked a flight to Boston.
Its the difference of land crossing vs airport.
Calais Maine is almost 5 hours driving time from me.
That is why I thought a video was appropriate - prevent others from making the same mistakes, and give people an expectation of how long it took me.
