I remember, When I was about 11 and this came out. I didn't have an N64 because there was no money to buy me the console and game but my friend, However had it. He had invited me over and the instant I heard this melody, I fell deeply in love with the game. The graphics, The gameplay, The story... I loved it all. I remember trying to fight (and lost) to stay there longer so I could experience the adventure more. Then, When i did have enough money (Mind you, this is when I turned 18 and actually had a job), I bought a second hand n64 and a copy of this game and from the moment I turned it on, I felt that familiar nostalgic rush. I played straight through the evening, into the morning and when I beat the game, I felt the simultaneous rush of accomplishment and the tiniest twinge of sadness, For I knew I could never go back to the same sense of wonder and awe I had once felt when i first picked up the game but still, When I hear this song, I smile and remember those times and wish I could be a part of them again.

But nostalgia runs deep within our veins. I remember buying this game as a kid for the N64, but being too young to pass it. But this, man, it just hit my ear strings so much. I could never forget it. When i was a kid, having walkthroughs was near impossible. As an adult, I once again obtained it, but for the nintendo DS. I passed it through and through. This song just hits much more seeing the opening scene with an adult Link riding with his horse, as you are an adult and can actually comprehend the emotion behind every note in this beautiful song.

This game was my first adventure as a kid. I was 7 or 8 and going through hardships no kid should ever have to. Being able to fight for someone and something bigger than myself was very fullfilling. Testing myself against enemies and puzzles. The wonderful music and atmosphere. I spent hours in gerudo valley just hanging out because it was so cool.

this was my very first game EVER. and my mother was the person who showed me this game i watched her play through the entire game in her lap. and as best i could at the age of 4 or 5 i used this game to teach me how to read! eventually i got it and i beat the game myself. but as a child it really instilled all these important themes in my life which is completely insane. taught me to challenge myself, persevere and overcome challenges, think creatively, fight back, make as many friends as you can. even when your scared be brave and keep going. save your money, and learn to be ok being alone. as an only child the hero of time was somebody i aspired to be without even knowing it. so needless to say this shit is deeper than just playing video games. i was reading at an eleventh grade level in 3rd grade all because i was playing zelda everyday. the franchise gave me at least one crucial practical skill in life i could use and have never stopped using to today. i can't help but feel consumed by this timeless soundtrack, as it means many things to me. but above all it is a form of love and nourishment for me. it reminds me of who i am and why i love music so much. and thank you if you read all this i appreciate it.

I’ve always thought this melody would fit with the sound of rain and I’m glad I found this. I’ve been listening to just rain but now I’ll listen to this on my tv at night! I remember being 6 or 7 when this game came out and my dad would spoil my older brothers with the n64. I miss living with all my sibling and having no care in the world. I remember moving out of my hometown in 2004 feeling so depressed and missing my family in Rhode Island and just found the remastered version on GameCube. I played and beat it! Such a thought out game and I felt so accomplished. Makes me want to be a child again when my parents were in their 30s and now they’re in their late 50s and 60s. Makes you think about life and what we have seen in this world thus far. I really hope everyone is doing well during this chaotic time! Can’t believe I’m now 30 after seeing this game for the first time at 6 or 7. Man… so much nostalgia. Music videos, video games, cartoons, music, television and movies today cannot compare during the 90s are any generation around that era.

The game… presented a reflection of the difference between childhood and adulthood. When Link was a child, the enemies, the cities seem peaceful and friendly. When Link became an adult, monsters become more powerful, cities became ruins, the reflection of darkness of adulthood and gratefulness of childhood presents. The ending was great too. In the adult time line where the world was saved from Ganondorf, the world lost their hero, lost the most important friend to share the happiness after saving the world, whereas in the time line where Link was sent back to the past, the hero lost everything, everyone he met during the adventure is gone, even the one who witnessed his legacy, Navi left.
