Thanks a lot. I didn't know how to put the grass catcher on mine so your instructions were helpful. I agree it's a good mower and you don't have to screw around with gas and oil.
Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower th-cam.com/users/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.
I have the same model, been using it for 2 years, does the job and i don't have to storage oils and gas in my garage, also fold it and takes way less space than regular gas mowers that cant be flipped. good video
I have both, craftsman does stand on end against the wall now. Has for at least 3 years. I keep the gas one only for leaves, the cobalt doesn’t do as good as the gas when it comes to leaves. Everything else it is fine for. Works amazingly and is completely silent. #1 in my book.
Thanks for the video, they have them for sale this Memorial Day weekend for only $249. They seem to be better built than the Hart 40v. and the Ryobi 40v.
Bought this for $150 on Facebook market; best decision ever. Runs front and back yard on the one 4A battery. I did buy a 2.5a battery for $50 bucks but I have never needed the back up. Not sure if it’s worth $300 new. But if you find one used make sure it comes with a battery and charger because those go for $70-$140
I’ve been happy with mine so far. Will it last as long as my 23 year old Craftsman gas powered mower? I doubt it. At least there’s no messing around with having a can of fresh gas on hand, try to start after it’s been sitting all winter and it’s much quieter so I can mow late in the day when it’s cooler without pissing off the neighbors. I don’t have a big yard so the one battery will take care of it unless I let it grow too high and it struggles. An extra battery made all the difference but I agree they’re pricey. Don’t know if there’s any knock offs available on Amazon yet?
Excellent review, I love Kobalt stuff. I'm going to be getting a mower, a weed trimmer, a hedger, and a blower that are all battery-powered. For one I don't like having to store gas and oil, and two I live in California so gas-powered landscape equipment is going to be banned pretty soon
I was hesitant to purchase this unit bc I didn’t think it could handle wet grass like a gas powered mower could but I was wrong. It handles wet, high grass just fine. I would recommend not using the self propel if not needed to preserve the battery
I have the chainsaw, the weed trimmer and the hedge trimmer. I have two battery packs and two chargers. I just bought the lawnmower online today for $219.00, mower only. Great stuff. No gas, oil or cords. Less noisy and no exhaust fumes. Love it.
I have the self propelled version, on the left side of the mower handle there is a speed control from "turtle" to "hare" (yes, those are the icons). I don't use the self propel much as my lawn is mostly flat, but it does come in really handy when I'm not able to be fully behind it to push it on occasion. I use it in the mulching configuration and it seems to mulch pretty well. Not as well as a professional mulcher, but I don't have to deal with clippings _ever_. I purchased a second battery and unless I let my grass get to long I can do my full yard with the two battery charges, and the battery swap is the excuse I need to take a quick cool-down and rehydrate break. The mower is quiet enough that I have apologized to my neighbors for not being able to be a noise nuisance to them when I'm mowing. X-D My biggest complaint with this mower (which seems to be echoed by the entire Kobalt lawn/yard care line) is even though it is Lowes's house brand, they don't seem to stock any of the replacement items (like blades or batteries for the mowers, line for the trimmers, etc.) in the store even though they do have replacement blades and batteries for other brands (like Husky). Also, the blade attachment has custom arrow-shaped cutouts that no 3rd party blade has so you can only use Kobalt blades, which you can't buy in store. To get replacement blades and batteries it seems you have to order them online only. For this reason, I never advise my friends or neighbors to buy Kobalt brand.
Has a ryobi for last 2 years though im thinking getting a kobalt.I heard their pretty comparable but batteries on kobalt i heard tend to be better. not sure if true or not but always like to give another brand a try.
Any comments about the mower blades itself? I ask because I saw a video by a channel called Chicanic I believe, and this woman does videos about servicing lawn mowers and other powered equipment. In one of her videos, she talks about a customer she had that brought in one of these 40v Kobalt mowers, and there’s this little plastic piece that’s very difficult to find a replacement for that attaches the mower blades to the motor housing on the mower. Without that plastic piece intact and properly fitted, the mower blades cannot spin, and these plastic pieces can apparently break very easily if you run the mower over hard terrain while mowing, which depending on the landscape of your lawn is inevitable for most homeowners. I was thinking about purchasing an electric Kobalt mower to do the trim only on my lawn after I do the main job on my riding mower, and I specifically wanted to get this Kobalt mower for its battery because I have other tools that share the exact same battery, so I can swap them out with eachother. But if the buzz about the fragile plastic attachment piece is true, I’m hesitant on picking up this mower, and if the price is too high, I’m skeptical if I should shell out the money as well for an electric that I want to use for trim only, or if the price seems better investment-wise, buy a higher quality gas mower like the Honda HRN. Those go for about $549 as of now, and even if I break it in by only using it for trim, I can still keep this mower as a walk behind mower to do a full lawn job if I move into a new house with a smaller lawn.
We really appreciate the video. I think I'm going to go out and buy one of these homies. How long have to had it my brother, im wondering if the one you have is self propelled and if not is it easy to pull. How huch did you pay for it. Again thanks for your time, God bless.
My gas mower died and I decided to give this a try because it was equal in price to the replacements I'd been looking at... I've had this mower for a couple years and love it. The only time I've run the battery out is when my work schedule doesn't align with the weather and my lawn has gotten too over grown. I think my vacuum cleaner is louder than this thing, I have no complaints at all.
Thinking about getting one while it’s 249 . How heavy is it compared to a regular push mower ? I got a crappy self propelled that the self propelled part is broke … so it’s pretty hard to push
I bought the KOBALT BUSHLESS PUSH LAWN MOVER at Lowes, Model KPM 1040B-03. It is a 40v MAX. Mowed two times. Third, with having no changes to mower it would not come on. Lowes took it in, replaced it yesterday. This morning it wouldn't start. Anyone know about this problem?
What settings do you have your mower at to get 45 mins? I’m only getting about 30 mins out of mine I have the same one I just bought it I’m so bummed because I can’t even do my full front yard before I lose battery.
That's the issue i am having. I have a small yard (mobile home park) and the battery that came with it gets about 2/3 of yard completed 1st yr i had it. On yr 2 and it gets maybe 1/2 of yard completed I follow manufacturers directions on recharging battery. I bought a 2.0 amp battery in hoping i could finish yard but it dies after about doing 2 rows . I like the mower but batteries are expensive for lasting such a short time.
never liked anything that uses a battery . there alright for little jobs but you ether have to have back up batteries or know your going to have recharge down time with them on any bigger jobs . now that little mower would be ok for my yard seeing how my yard is smaller then a dog poo . but how long will the battery last between mow time .
I did our pool area, the chicken coop, the hard to reach areas and my front yard all on one charge. These batteries are way better than they used to be. It charges in 3 hours so it’s not much down time if you only have one. This is the future and the way it seems to be going.
TROUBLE WITH ELECTRIC MOWERS IF YOU SOLAR CHARGE IT YOU GOT TO TAKE THE SOLAR PANEL DC RUN IT THROUGH AN INVERTER AC PLUG CHARGER IN CHANGE IT BACK TO DC AGAIN GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY
I’ve had this mower since 2018. It is junk. I have to recharge the battery multiple times in a day just to cut my 1/3 acre lawn. By multiple, I mean more than 6,7,8 times. Mowing is now an all-day event. I will never buy a battery powered mower again.
It's for small lawns, if grass is high battery dosen't last. Pros- Yes quiter, descent metal, less vibrations on hands Cons- hi grass is challeging, you need to have another $130 5 amp battery. I tried 2.5amps, they dont last.
Thank you for the simple video. My husband has covid and I’m 9 months pregnant about to attempt to mow the yard, now I have a better understanding 😊
I bought this exact mower today.
It's far superior in quality than other brands for the price.
Already cut the yard, very pleased

I do love the way it stores. Not having to keep gas on hand is a huge plus for me.

I was looking to buy one-off of a neighbor, so thanks for the info.
Thanks for the video, they have them for sale this Memorial Day weekend for only $249. They seem to be better built than the Hart 40v. and the Ryobi 40v.
Same! Except I'm hitting the Father's Day sale at Lowes.

I was hesitant to purchase this unit bc I didn’t think it could handle wet grass like a gas powered mower could but I was wrong. It handles wet, high grass just fine. I would recommend not using the self propel if not needed to preserve the battery
Cutting grass for 40 minutes gets a lot of grass cut . Electric is going to outsell gas in the near future . Cheers bud.
It is the future for sure. I was impressed by its performance.
Except bagging doesn’t work as well
As a gas powered. I have both an electric 40v cobalt and a 220cc Craftsman. The gas mower is only used for leaves.
@@rwilson7744bagging?
I have the hedge trimmer and the mini saw. Both work well
Good review Bud. Sounds like a good mower for someone in need of small mower.
It really exceeded my expectations. Thanks for stopping by!
Just got one today . That’s for the honest review
I have the pole saw as well.. So the 2.5 ah will work in the lawn mower?
I might buy one of these for my wife since she can't operate our Troy Bilt T30. We only have a 18-×60' strip of lawn.

Just brought the same one Ty for your video
I’m trying to understand why there’s grease in the lawnmower were the batteries goes. Is there supposed to be grease in the connectors

Best bet would be to figure out a faster pattern to do your lawn or to just buy another backup battery and have it on Deck

How many years is the batter expected to last with “normal mowing”
This machine constantly shuts off if you have a full healthy thick lawn. I am returning mines today.
Amazing. It plays generic electronic TH-cam video music when you start cutting the grass.
I've found my battery lasts around 1 hour and 30 minutes but my yard it totally flat so that may factor in
Great review thanks for the review
How many years does the battery last?
I have the same mower I need the model number and manual information.
Dam and I got desert landscaping . - LOL...
Haha
I’m just gonna keep my smoke belching noisy gas mower. It shares my love to my neighbors. Cheers Brother.
It would be interesting to see it mow actual grass. That 'yard' is nothing but thin weeds.
what is that yellow thing called, I misplaced mine and I'm trying to order another one 🤔
Kill switch

If you want this do yourself a favor and buy a spare battery.
