I have a curious, can we remove the 2zz-ge part by part? Without the hold engine out of carbine? And can we renistall back part by part too?

Remove the 2 spring bolts at the collector and the lower support bolt, you can remove it with the manifold..

@@713jtmechanic8 is reliable the 2zzge mate?

@@DimoS... In my opinion the 2zzge engine is reliable, especially being a high rev engine. Make sure the engine has oil changes in a timely manner. I had to rebuild head, due to previous owner lack of care.

Wait. So the head bolts are down inside? And are you inserting a hex head into them? Confused. I thought you said 10 or 12mm 12 point.

Sorry for the very late response. I didn't see your comment until now. I know this is late, however, its a 12mm 12 point Matco MCXZN12MB tool part #. I did say 10mm 12 point, but I was incorrect. Manufacture has it as 10mm, but it was a 12mm for engine head.

For future folks, the tool you want is called a double hexagon socket, or as Toyota calls it, "10mm bi-hexagonal wrench." I just looked up, "Toyota head bolt socket."
A 12mm triple square looks similar (and fits in the head bolt) but the angles of the edges are different, and if you use that you run the risk of stripping the bolt or socket.

@@JGSmash take a look at this video time frame 4:44. This video demonstrates on how to remove fuel injectors. This procedure is very similar to the 2zzge engine. On a positive note, the fuel rail and injectors are easier to remove, since the fuel rail is in front of engine (exhaust side of head. Only two bolts secures the fuel rail, which holds down injector. Easy process, especially, you being mechanically incline. Hope this helps Jerry. th-cam.com/video/WOFc4_d1PCw/w-d-xo.html

Take your time. I understand it can be frustrating at times. I am sure there is a tool to help you reach the exhaust manifold. It's difficult to give advice without seeing the area. Good luck .
