I think if you look at Malayalam Cinema post the year 2000, Nivin Pauly was actually the first person who came from non cinema background and reached a top tier position...2012-2016 he was dominating with back to back hits like Thattathin Marayathu, Neram, Om Shanthi Oshana, Bangalore Days, Premam, Oru Vaddakan Selfie, Jacobinte Swargarajyam, and Action Hero Biju. But sadly he could not keep up that momentum from 2017 onwards...yes there was Kochunni but Mohanlal got a major credit for the success and Nivin started doing some offbeat roles that didnt help to expand his market. Also his weight became an issue. He can definitely bounce back but needs to do the work to get fit and get some commercial blockbusters that will appeal to masses.

70 percent of malayalam actors are not into fitness. They should give importance to fitness; not only for their professional success but also for better health. Nivin looked way better befor he gained this much weight. I am not body shaming. As he said, his body his decisions. Not everybody cant be shredded, but everyone can at least follow a low carb, low sugar, healthy diet and maintain body weight. All of us should learn from Tamil actor Chimbu. I really like Nivin. I wish he should decide to get fit and shut his critics. ❤️
nivin is currently going through a medical condition thats why he gained fat , and also like actress parvathy thiruvoth said , if one person is healthy but is fat its perfectly okay , all body types should be cherished, unlike any industry in india kerala actors always stays closes to the character and orginality and genuinity, do u think is there any heroine in tamil or anyother industry who is dark skinned and fat no . I think if you look at Malayalam Cinema post the year 2000, Nivin Pauly was actually the first person who came from non cinema background and reached a top tier position...2012-2016 he was dominating with back to back hits like Thattathin Marayathu, Neram, Om Shanthi Oshana, Bangalore Days, Premam, Oru Vaddakan Selfie, Jacobinte Swargarajyam, and Action Hero Biju. But sadly he could not keep up that momentum from 2017 onwards...yes there was Kochunni but Mohanlal got a major credit for the success and Nivin started doing some offbeat roles that didnt help to expand his market. Also his weight became an issue. He can definitely bounce back but needs to do the work to get fit and get some commercial blockbusters that will appeal to masses.

Nivin looked way better befor he gained this much weight. I am not body shaming. As he said, his body his decisions. Not everybody cant be shredded, but everyone can at least follow a low carb, low sugar, healthy diet and maintain body weight. All of us should learn from Tamil actor Chimbu. I really like Nivin.
