Can you believe how much time has changed! I’ve been looking at this other style I want. It’s like the boho braids but with more loose hair and they are literally charging $750+. I’m not mad but I will stick to doing my own hair.
Image that 50 bucks 😁 well time has definitely changed. Houses used to be 50,000 now they're 500,000. 👀😁 Rent used to be 200 - 600 now it's 1500 and up for some. People have to make a living and slaving over someones head for 4 -12hours is not going to work. 😁 Stylist either charge or starve.
I did my hair by watching your video and I absolutely love my Microlocs using extensions. It turned out so beautiful. I do have traction alopecia up in the front, however I have come up with so many creative ways to hide my bold spots. Thank you for your video! It gave me confidence that I too can wear Microlocs even though I have fine hair.
UPDATE: .... Today is 8/1/23. So as of 7/23/23 I finally tried this style over with different hair. I bought Equal Kinky Cuban Twist. I braid my hair exactly like she did, used blue magic, dipped my hair in hot water and it came out amazing. I received so many compliments in Walmart. It took me 10 hours. I wasn't stopping. I'm going to keep it in for 2 more weeks and redo it with human hair and keep it in for 3 years 😂 I'm growing out my pixie cut and want to start my microlocs journey anyway. Mines never come out like that 😔 I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. The twist ravels up if that makes sense 🤔 This the first video I've seen someone dip the hair in hot water. I ended up taking mine down and doing crochet. I'm not giving up. I'll try again in 3 weeks after taking these crochet out and report back 😊 love this video. Hair is gorgeous. TFS 🥰
What brand of hair are you using coarse is best to use like expression hair if you don’t order from the site she suggested but I deftly wanna try this style 😊
@@NaZahri08 .... I have Outre X-pression springy afro twist. I've watched a couple of videos and seen people use that hair but girl it's not working 😞 I tried for two years and gave up😆 but you're right, I'm going to order she suggested and see if that will work. Thanks girl I'll report to you later if it works out for me 😁
Giiiiiiiirl, I just wanna tell you that you are STUNNING. I saw you on Facebook and I said she is gorgeous! And you ATE with this hairstyle and your face was beat to the GAAAAWDS
I found that heating 1 gallon of water then add 3 tablespoons of coconut oil and 3 tablespoons of olive oil 3 tablespoons of leave in conditioner also gives a wonderful shine to hair. Adjusting amount of the oils and condioner may be needed according to thickness of braids.
Im sorry yes leave on dont rinse out. You can take a wet towel to wipe off the braids in section if you think it feels weighed down. A lighter texture of leave conditioner I sometimes use Auntie Jackie's knot on my watch that works great too
SHIDDD, I went to the African braiding shop and got my Microlocs done for $250. It took 10hrs. Bought the hair from QVR, 3 18in packs, Afro Kinky Curly. Got it done on my b-day (January 30th) & yes, this will be a permanent style for me. I love it because it's light and it doesn't weigh much like the synthetic hair..
Thank you for the blue magic grease and hot water tip I just finish installing my micro braid locs and they were very stiff but I used your tip and they are soft and fell naturally
Good job sis. I could pay my daughter to do this style for me. It's always cheaper when you could do your own hair and just pay for extensions. You go girl I'm loving it 💚💛❤️🖤🌈😉
If I install it, it's my coming out. I'm a stylist and let me tell you, my hands HURT by the time I'm done doing hair. It takes days for micros and loc re-installations. I don't even feel like doing my hair by the time I'm done with everybody else. I guarantee if you started doing these styles for other people you wouldn't only charge 100 or 200. That's how much it costs to purchase the materials. You not making a profit and you've worked for hours and or days. You *slayed*, period. It's very beautifully done and the parts are crispy. If you want that side hustle, charge your worth.
Duh she said herself that she would charge an arm and a leg lol. Plus they don’t purchase the materials, you buy your own hair. Anyway, she knows that folks aint got it so she’s showing people how to do it. No one ever said the stylist don’t deserve that much. Stfu
Girl you absolutely killed that style AND you did it yourself!!?? I braid and I don't know if I would do someones hair that well looking right at it. I'm truly impressed. Great job!
Can I start permanent locs this way? Trying to find a method I can do on my own because I just can’t see myself paying someone hundreds of dollars to do it when I have hands too 😅
Yes I’ve seen plenty of women do it but if you have thin hair (I do) I wouldn’t start it with the crotchet method because it will cause a lot of tension on your hair when it time to retie it (refresh) in my opinion. A professional might say otherwise.
Funny how what's old is new again! I used to do this exact style 20+ years ago using synthetic Marley hair...Much more budget friendly. I love it. Needless to say ❤❤
We have the same hair line, I kid you not! I’m so happy to see you with this style because I was feeling away about having the baby hair temples and not full edges
Thank you, thank you and thank you my Beautiful Queen 👸🏽 I’ve been researching micro locs for awhile now and they do charge over a thousand because my hair is like yours and I definitely want extensions! I’m almost 66 and on a very tight budget but if I do like you did by pre-braiding my own hair, I know I can achieve the look I desire! God’s blessings to you!🥰💕🇩🇪
I’m going to try this , your hair looks beautiful and you are so genuine and funny, I’ve lost both legs and an arm getting my hair done 😁, I’m going to get my qvr hair and get to it.🙌🏾🙏🏾
Best video I seen so far for diy micro locs I been considering this for a long time 2 years I’m finally ready and excited for personal reasons ❤❤ much love girl Thnk yu so much for this very detailed yu should be a braiding or hair instructor ❤️🤗
Love this video thank you so much. Yes saving me some coins! And I actually started braiding my hair in small braids. Just like you my hair came a loose. Going to try your method for SURE!
Thank you so much for putting this out there. I have very fine hair but want to lock it up and couldn’t figure how to do it without using synthetic hair!! This is awesome and you look amazing
I am glad I came across this video. I have been using kinky hair for my mini twists, but it just is not giving the way I want to. So I decided, I wanted to try using human kinky hair, but was not sure what brand to trust. I was thinking about QVR, but the packaging, kinda of turned me off, however, your hair looks gorgeous. I am going to order now and have my daughter do it for me (again). Now, the one thing we (my daughter) were doing, was actually braiding down and then twisting the hair, I think I am going to use your method with the crochet in then braid down.
I do have a question. Can you do a video how to lock the extention in to the hair permanently? You did such an amazing job and you look beatiful. I did try to do the microloc with my natural hair but my hair is to thin. i'm thinking of adding the extention and lock them. What are the pros and the cons for doing it that way?
I actually had my hair professionally locked with extension around 2020. I have videos all about it. I eventually took them out because I needed a change and something strange was happening to my scalp. I’ve seen people just do their hair how I have and never take it out. I wouldn’t recommend that for our hair (thin) cuz the way you have to retie it to look neat and keep it locked looks like it will cause a lot of tension which can result in hair loss.
Girl! You! did!! THAT!!! It looks so good. Matter of fact it looks just like my real hair did when I first installed my locs, only that my hair way way shorter (chin length). I wish you would keep it in for a good year so we can see the progression. TFS.
I'm going to do this for my daughter but she wants hers to be permanent so we will be leaving them in after I do this. You look absolutely stunning in this hairstyle and I can't wait to try this on my daughter
Oh yes I love that look it's gorgeous that's all I don't mind the permanently stay except for just a little longer though I'm going to try it and see how it comes out for me
Loved this video! Thank you for doing it. I’ve been considering this style but did not want to pay the price. But I have questions: Does it puff up? Did it untwist? Can you do a one month update? How long can it stay in? Sorry for the many questions and thank you!
So, I've been looking for SOMETHING to do with my 4c hair that I've had out of a protective style for the past 4 months and I came across this video. This style is EVERYTHING. Thank so much for sharing. Me and my sis installed in two steps. GET HELP IF YOU CAN. It makes it much easier. Now, about the hair you buy...this is NOT aimed at Kluermoi...but I got to tell y'all this: do not buy your hair from QVR. First of all what you get will NOT look anything like what is shown in the video. I think they sent you a good batch knowing that you would be posting this. The three bundles I got was three bags of NAPS. Not trying to be funny but it was a few good hands of hair and the rest was literally kinks and balls of nappy hair that could not be fashioned into any sort of strands for braiding. Thankfully I only bought the 3 bundle pkg which was pretty expensive, still, but I could not help wasting a lot of this hair as it was not in strands. It's almost like they took a broom and swept up bits and pieces of hair off the shop floor. I was disappointed and angry. The next thing is I think some of the hair I got was machined. Some of it was human but some of it you could feel was not real hair. There was gray hair in my bundle, red hair, brown hair...I ordered black but got the rainbow. Lastly...I always check where the product is coming from before I guy. On their website they list a NJ address. These people are in China. We know most weave (human or synthetic) come from there but I due to COVID I'm not trying to order straight out of China. Well after I ordered I get a confirmation that the hair is being shipped from WUHAN China. I immediately contacted QVR and told them to cancel the order because I don't want anything out of WUHAN, China. He tired to talk me into keeping the order and ran out and shipped it anyway a whole day after I told him to cancel this order. FedEx was questioning how he got that hair shipped internationally without going through customs. Long story short, watch what you buy and where you buy it from. Email these people beforehand and ask them where it's coming from and do your research online. He claims the hair was going "through" Wuhan but from Brazil. The whole thing with the hair was shady and the quality is straight trash. Not trying to stop someone's bag I just want folks to stay healthy. Love, love, love this style but I'd source my hair from someone else.
Very informative, light humor, great hair look! Can these be left in to maintain and loc? I did this without the crochet hook, but braided down as you suggested. The hot water is a must! Thanks for the video.
Thank you for this video. I would like to know the following: 1) How do you take care of your scalp (nightly, scalp, oiling, washing)? 2) How long did you keep it in? And 3) How did you take it down?
I use Camille Rose mint condition hair spray and it’s soooo soothing especially for my itchy scalp and I add wild growth oil every other night cuz my scalp is also dry. I kept it in for about 1 1/2. Can’t remember the exact time but I do have a take down video❤️❤️❤️ coming soon
I’m going to have to try this hair. I literally just did my hair 2 days ago and today I see this video. I really want to just buy this hair and redo mine 😂. This is my next hair, I love micro twist and braids and this hair seems perfect. Thanks for sharing!
Yesss!!! This is so beautiful; great job. I swim 4 days a week maybe more now that it is summer. Im really looking for something to keep my hair out the way. How did this hair do with water, do you think it will last at least a month with me swimming, getting my Hair wet?
I love this. I used to have sisterlocs and they were very expensive to maintain. This is a great alternative. My hair is also loose textured so I had to do alot of maintenance when I got retwists. How long do you keep them in?
@@halimaakuetiemhe4982 sorry just seen your comment. Took roughly 6 months. Started in November 22 and they are fully locked now. I interloc the roots and can't tell where the extensions end.
Last time I did these was in 2006 lol it took me 4 days cause I had to rest a day. I was on staycation so it worked out. I loved it. I used kanekalon though. I feel inspired to do them again from watching this video.
Hi, quick question and sorry if you have already answered this, but did you braid your hair a little so you could. Crochet the hair through? I have watched this a few times and I’m still confused.
This is beautiful 😍, but here is my concern. My hair is 18 inches in the back and from 14 to 16 inches in the front. This will take me much longer, correct? About how many hours did it take you, although you mentioned two nights.
I have the same concern. And I don’t want to pay for 22 in TBH 😂 - so I bought 16 in. I’m going to wet it, pull to stretch, and a lil heat from blow dryer to get to about 20 in. Instead of blow drying my hair, I may leave slightly stretched so the lengths will match up. Not sure what will happen after the dip though 👀🤞🏽
Girl this would be a permanent style for me!!! I would have left it and turn it into locs and rock sister lock. Thank you I’m going to do just that
That’s honestly what belle microlocs are
Lol me too😂
Omg I thought I was crazy for thinking this 😂 I want to do this and start locs now
Yup!! This is exactly what I was coming to say!
Me too.❤
crazy thing is when I was younger we wore human hair braids and paid about 50 bucks for it and they were uber small

Omg thank you so much!!! I really appreciate that cuz I loveeee this style
Hi very nice braids, you can also spray Luster's S Curl No Drip, Curl Activator Moisturizer on the ends of the hair
This is a beautiful style. I usually do mini-twists on my natural hair but I’d love to add some hair for fullness.

@@Kluermoi I'm so excited to try this! I wasn't able to find the take down video but I was wondering, were you able to save the hair to reuse it?
Thank you for detail explanation, this is the only video I found that explains everything I need to know 😊
This is beautiful, the parts are so clean..
You did an amazing job with the install 😊 you did that
Thank you so much 😊
Hi sweetheart it’s so good to see you I haven’t seen you in forever ❤
Awww Hi ❤️❤️❤️
I m so excited about trying my patience on myself you are perfect i pray my nerves and hands will be as such.
Yes you can do it! Find a good show or movie to watch and it is so relaxing!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Beautifully done. You are wearing this style. ❤
Beautiful! Could it be used for installing permanent micro locs?
Yes I did mine like this permanently and they are locs now.
@@growqueen How long did it take to loc ?
@@growqueen oh wow! Thank you for replying!
@@halimaakuetiemhe4982 sorry just seen your comment. Took roughly 6 months. Started in November 22 and they are fully locked now. I interloc the roots and can't tell where the extensions end.
@@sashatom02sr your welcome 🙂
This style came out so nice you did a great job
Sis! I freaking love your hair thanks for the great tutorial
You did a wonderful job on your braids hairstyle
Oh yes Kleurmoi 🤩, you did that. Looks Fabulous.... I'm going to try this in a few weeks.
Last time I did these was in 2006 lol it took me 4 days cause I had to rest a day. I was on staycation so it worked out. I loved it. I used kanekalon though. I feel inspired to do them again from watching this video.
This is hands down my favorite hairstyle
My daughter did this to my hair and im loving it but im gonna leave it in for awhile 😊
Can you reuse the hair? Just curious. The style is absolute 🔥🔥🔥!!
That’s my question since the hair is over $200
Hi, quick question and sorry if you have already answered this, but did you braid your hair a little so you could. Crochet the hair through? I have watched this a few times and I’m still confused.
Yes, I braided it about half way
She feeling this style😊 Great job
This is absolutely gorgeous!!
You did a fantastic job what products did you use to prep your hair
The intro alone got me lol 💕
Was there anything you didn’t like about this style? How long did you keep it in and could you have turned it into locs?
Thank you. For your help. With a great price on the hair
Absolutely stunning hairstyle
This is super pretty 😍
Beautifully Done!! Looks Great on you!👑💯 Thanks for Sharing.
How do you keep it moist. I just got this style with human hair and I love it. gonna try all these styles thanks!
I just put oil on my scalp and use a braiding spray I got from the beauty supply store. I hope you enjoyed the styles.
Thanks Schat! I'm going to try it, but i plan on it becoming my base for interlocking locs w/ extensions. What do you think?
Thank you Kluermoi! 👏🏽🥰😘
Beautifully done love!! Ive been looking for easier to use kinky human hair so thank you for this video! Continued Blessings ❤❤
