I think you meant the original novel of the same name which was told in first person by the Bond girl, Vivienne Michel. Bond doesn't make an appearance til the last 3rd of the novel. Fleming's interesting experiment, but he stipulated that the Bond producers could only use the title. Still I would like to see Fleming's version maybe presented as a BBC/PBS television adaptation.
A lot of the Bond movies have bugger all to do with the source material. Most of Connery’s films followed the books fairly accurately, but once the Moore era kicked in, they usually took bits and pieces and discarded the rest.
@@horrorfanandy4647 I can't agree with you, the corruption of the original novels started with “Dr. No.” “Dr. No” is volume 9 of the JB novels. "Live And Let Die" is the second novel by Ian Fleming and the first movie with Roger Moore as JB OO7
@@tomritter479 Oh I know they adapted them completely out of order, however taken as separate stories, the Connery films are mostly fairly faithful, with the obvious inclusion of SPECTRE as an overarching antagonist from the beginning being probably the biggest change of the films continuity wise from the novels. That is of course excluding You Only Live Twice and Diamonds Are Forever, which for better or worse, basically chucked the whole plot out of the window. But overall the butchery did not start until Roger took over.
Disco really pervaded just about everywhere... I like most of it, but John Barry was a seriously tough act to follow for anyone, no matter how talented.
The Carly Simon theme is definitely a top 5 Bond theme. Marvin Hamlisch has composed excellent scores for The Way We Were, Sophie's Choice, adaptated The Sting score, but, in my opinion, his score for Spy was lacking as a Bond score. It's difficult to match the high quality of John Barry's 11 Bond scores, especially OHMSS. George Martin & David Arnold have certainly come close. Still the Spy album (which is a re-recording and not the original film cues) is a good easy listening album. As a Bond & OST collector, I would definitely welcome a release of the complete original Hamlisch film cues. What was your source for this excellent post??
What magical Movies those were ! Long gone.
Yeah... but not forgotten!
Wahouuuuuuu
I am loving these "suite" videos.
One of the best Bond movies🎬but has nothing to do with the original short stories📖
by Ian Fleming with the same title🤔😕🧐

I do love this score, but anytime someone other than Barry did the music I can’t help but wonder what his version would have been, too.
