You clearly don't understand the characters motivations nor paid attention to the dialogue that has happen. The aunt used a lie to get the grandmother to force them to abandon one of the children, she was unexpected in the birth. The actor convey great pains at that moment of making the decision to leave her new born daughter behind. She doesn't blame the daughter for anything, she is just not used to raising a girl since all she has been doing for over the last decade was raising boys and dealing with soldiers. So discipline is her highest priority not realizing she needs to change her parenting method when dealing with a girl.

It's a passive way of making the soldier try harder and do and be better. Of course this doesn't work on Niao Niao since she isn't a soldier nor a boy.

In order to raise such a person they can only be raised in softness, treat them like steel and they will burn or break. Yuanyi approached her daughter Nuan Nuan like she was an unforged ingot of Steel, She treated her with the fire and hammer. But Nuan Nuan was already a mostly formed blade and it took forever for the mother to realize that. Nuan Nuan would have (and did with the empress) responded better to a soft honing stone, oil and cloth to sharpen her. BUt Nuan Nuan's approach and reaction to the Empress is entirely different too.

don’t try to blame everyone else for your mistakes! I always hated this scene because at the end she nerve fought for her children just her nation who never gave her recognition for anything. She was stupid to the end that what her daughter chose to be sealed with the queen because she treated her like a daughter…
The moment the Mother let it be known that she KNEW everything that the sister-in-law put her daughter through, all the abuse, the starvation, no warm clothing just rags, being humiliated and locked away, and having no schooling, not a ounce of love shown to her from the moment she was born… the Mother knew it all and chose to come home and treat her daughter coldly, this was the moment I disliked the Mother. I don’t know what her logic was but when your daughter is put through hell for 15-16 years and you choose to come home and show “tough love”, acting coldly to her, not showing her any warmth , don’t be surprised when she continues to act out to protect herself, don’t be surprised when she puts you under the same umbrella as the sister-in-law… someone untrustworthy.

She was abandone by her parents to help Huo Clan, as buyi also lost entire his family,,,, hmmm interesting. The next 14 years, huo buyi meet Shaoshang, she helps him to catch a criminal, and then buyi make her become his fiance, promise her a wedding and happy marriage life, in their wedding day, buyi decide to take reveange, cut his ties with SS, and jump to the cliff expecting to die, leaving heartbroken SS almost die.. Boyyyy, huo buyi really is a man with big debt moraly for his clan, and shaoshang.

Even though I’m here for slapping the aunt I still don’t like the mother cause after learning about what the aunt and grandmother put her daughter through she still didn’t show any love or care towards her daughter and would rather mop around wondering why NiaoNiao is forming bonds with everyone but her and doesn’t realize her mistake until NiaoNiao willing goes to be locked away with the woman she does see as a mother figure.
