  • This video is some pictures and video clips from my familys camping trip at Leonard's cove holiday park in Stoke Fleming Dartmouth South Devon. I wasn't sure if I would film or not because my family didn't want to be on video but I decided to film what I could and have managed to put something together. We visited Dartmouth went to the stunning Blackpool sands and Slapton sands well worth a visit if your down this way.

I love that campsite, we used to go every year when we was kids, loved it .. took my now wife there a few years ago and it seems to have changed a lot, still good though. We used to go in the green dragon at night and sit in the family room playing domino’s, this was in the late 90s though so will of changed a little now.. Devon will always be my sanctuary - so calming and remincent

@@Intotheoutdoors69 It has been a while ! Doing well ! We've been quite busy the last while with a death in the family and getting my Mom into a care facility (dimensia). Now that everything has calmed down, it's time to get back out and enjoy the outdoors !! Maybe even film a video !!

Sorry to hear about the loss of your foreign holiday Carl but you all seemed to have a good time and your wild camping knowledge saved the day at Slapton Sands. Lots of interesting information on the web about the roles of Slapton Sands and Blackpool Sands and the training for the D day landings. Shame about the weather but it probably would have rained in Spain. Regards Keith

Thanks Keith and yes we tried to make the most of it I don't have wild camping knowledge I just blag it but am trying to learn. Ive got some pics of the tank and info but didn't think it was the kind of video to put it on and we have gone to spain before and its just rained but saying that ive got to be the only person who goes to Spain and hopes for a thunderstorm cos its eminence over there😁👍

Sorry to hear about your foreign holiday, and your money, but it looks like you were still able to have a good time with your family, and also do a little exploring on your own, too.
I used to go to Slapton and Strete a lot, it's such a very beautiful place.
I know there's no such place but to me it feels like it's where Dartmoor meets the sea!

Yeah that was gutting not being able to go abroad and its typical that this is the first time in over 5 years that ive had tome off during school holidays we get allocated holiday. Yes this area is stunning and i kinda se where your coming from about Dartmoor but to me it looks a bit tropical 😁👍

Stunning sunrise footage 😊. Whenever we get down to south Devon, we always try to have a day at Bigbury-on-Sea. Absolutely love it. Many thanks for bringing us along and sharing 👍👍.

My wife doesn't like being on my films either. She doesn't mind distant shots but nothing close up. I did manage to get her to do a voice over a couple of films back. She called me a tosser lol. stayed at Slapton sands last year and we were very lucky with the weather. In the sunshine it's pretty stunning.

Its a shame when they don't want to be on camera but its up to them. yes Slapton sands is stunning even in the rain but especially when the sun come out and you have that tank there to😁👍

So you live in Dawlish, with Dawlish Warren down the road, and go to Blackpool??? I suppose at least if you get the weather you can go to the beach at home. Love Devon and can't wait to be back down there.

    • @Intotheoutdoors69

Thanks for watching I do have a beach on my doorstep but it gets a bit boring visiting the same place all the time dont get me wrong I do love Dawlish and Dawlish Warren beach but it has nothing on Blackpool sands. I hole its not to long until you can come back to Devon hopefully it won't be long until everything is back ro normal 😁👍

@@Intotheoutdoors69 I was feeling your pain with the tent poles breaking, I've gone Air Beam now, so just have to worry about punctures. Have a look at Beverley Park at Paignton if you get chance, a bit more central and cracking views.

Hello! How long was it to get from the site to the beach please? We’re heading soon, not to camp but in one of the houses! But trying to get a feel of the place!
Great video! And looked like a fab time!

Hi Grace thanks for watching we didn't walk down to the beach but I think it would take around 15 to 20 minutes but longer coming back up the hill. we got the bus there is a Stagecoach 3 service that will get you there from Stoke Fleming you can download the timetable online. I hope that helps and have a lovely time its a beautiful place😁👍

    • @Intotheoutdoors69
      @Intotheoutdoors69  3 ปีที่แล้ว

I just thought you might not of ment walking there if you take the car then it will only take a few minutes I dont know the area well but I would recommend going to Dartmouth and maybe the ferry or steam railway. Also the other way you have Slapton sands and Torcross where there is a sherman tank. This Tank commemorates one of the biggest losses of life during the War, and is the unofficial Tombstone for 946 men who lost their lives during exercise ‘Tiger’, many of whom may still lie buried in unmarked graves. 😁👍
