Rodney Skeet Curtis (bass) & Dennis on drums really make this CD something special. Hear Skeet on 'Funk Um Agin...For The First Time'. (Live in LA) do a bass solo on 'Undisco Kidd'
... man I couldn't believe how tight they were that night.... They was making a comeback statement... we still the baddest mother fuckers.. and the way they played knee deep, man I thought there was a percussion player on stage and it was Dennis chamber all along
I was at this show...And let me tell ya' they did indeed blew the roof off. This opening caught everyone by surprise. I had never heard them open a show like this. Bernie, Blackbird, Skeet, and Dennis were the standout musicians that night. They/we all had a damn good time at this show. BTW I was front row stage right.
Why is there no live footage of this show, this to me is one of the top live recordings the MOB that I have heard, aside from going to see them live and in person BABY BOBBA!!!!!, Someone needs to find Video of this show, I would LOVE to have it in my P-Funk collection
I first heard Funkadelic in 1970 when I was in the 11th grade. I'm 57 years old now, and I NEVER miss a George Clinton concert. These guys are that SHIT you have to flush TWICE to get rid of. They're gonna be around a LONG TIME.
Recall playing the intro on this cd and he wasnt largely familar with Dennis Chambers' playing.he played one of those blistering single stroke rolls to bring the horns in.i asked him what he thought of the cd and he said well the drummer sounded like he had 300 arms.
One of the best, most trippin' CDs right here. TY The next best is P-Funk ' 'Funk Um Agin...For The First Time'. (Live in LA) but most of the songs segue into each other. But I consider that CD 'Part II' of this one. The sound on that one, and the drumming, is a little looser, not as tight as Chambers, and the mix a little wider but the songs are awesome. e.g. Atomic Dog into Why Should I Dog You Out
eddie was a stoned cold dope fiend that could barely get work, it's because of George Clinton that you get too hear about him so, be happy and grateful xxx

Legendary concert!! Prince attended this show and it supposedly inspired him to compose "Erotic City", one of his funkiest songs.
