  • Zebra's DS9908R is a handheld and hands-free barcode scanner and RFID reader hybrid. This scanner/reader hybrid is ideal for retail and point-of-sale (POS) environments, and allows a smooth checkout of items via scanning barcodes or reading passive UHF RFID tags. This reader/scanner is ideal for retail or other POS applications that are interested in transitioning from barcodes to passive RFID, which isn't usually an overnight process.
In this video, we provide the general specifications, as well as the RFID and Barcode specifications, and then walkthrough setting up the DS9908R via the free, compatible 123Scan software from Zebra. Once we have setup the DS9908R, we will scan barcodes and read RFID tags back to back to show users how easy it is with this device.

Absolutely! RAIN RFID tags (or UHF RFID tags) are the only RFID tags it is able to read.
