Thank you so much for sharing this! You're giving me, through your brilliant videos, hope in truly learning to play my classical guitar, which is an Esteve from Spain, which I purchased 15 years ago, and have always had trouble fretting...you've taken away my fear, showed me the RIGHT way to hold my guitar to make fretting MUCH easier (I have very small hands, plus a chronic pain problem which is rather severe), and helped me finally know how to strike the strings correctly....you're giving me hope, and I can now hear my gorgeous Esteve, which has a voice like warm honey....and is a beautiful work of art in itself.....thank you so much! Question: Do you sell your videos as a course than can be purchased?
+Classical Guitar Shed thanks alot! I know by heart the five blues shapes and it seems to me that that basic core of 5 blues or chord shapes is the same! Cheers!
The only thing I really learned from this video was the colored dots are root notes and what the numbers inside mean (the exact thing you told us not to worry about) ... Your describing how to play the notes was confusing as fuck and something wasn't synced right making it more confusing. I want to know about playing open notes and when/how those are described. Also moving the root down for the D shape doesn't look intuitive because the pattern seems to change. Care to explain that?
Guys it might be confusing because the webcam and audio is not synced with his screen recording. If you notice he will talk about something and then the mouse highlights it like 6 seconds later. Just something to keep in mind.
Hello, Zak here. They get their names from the "root" of the chord. This means that in a G chord, the root note is G. If you'd like some more information, check out this page on music theory classicalguitarshed.com/music-theory-guitar/

This is so much fun. Confusing at first so great to have someone holding our hands and walking us through. You make the confusing clear. Thanks Allen!
Thanks Anne! Glad to help.
Your mouse work needs more help than my guitar work. Not helpful at all.
What do the A and P mean with the numbers?
I fail to see the e shape d shape or c shape labeling use for this? Is that so one can imagine these chord shapes fitting into these scale diagrams?
Hey hallobaaaby, I explain it here: th-cam.com/video/j9K01pYwIRY/w-d-xo.html
Yes, the chords and scales shapes are connected.
Cheers!

Your cursor movement is so fast it’s difficult to keep track for a beginner
Simple question? Why are they called E shape, G shape etc? Cannot see any logic here.
