Thank you for this excellent introduction to Bandcamp. I am an indie singer-songwriter-musician with practically no passive listener but a small niche active fanbase. Bandcamp is good for getting music out, just not feeling the fact that I have to give my tax info thru a third party to the IRS after you make over $600 plus the ridiculous taxing they do after you make over $3000.

Never heard anything like that from our community. They do a weird thing where they take their cut from sales periodically so sometimes it looks like you’re not getting paid, but it’s just deducting your balance from your most recent digital sales.

I don’t think anyone has noticed any negative changes since the buyout.
