Deep Sea Wreck Fishing - Fishing reef and sunken Shipwrecks for BIG Fish for food | The Fish Locker

- Today I fish several locations and shipwrecks in the hope of catching fish for food. Our stores of eating fish are getting low so it's time to restock the freezer. I share the techniques, methods and tackle I use also explaining what is happening as I do it. Every day at sea is a good day, but its better when it ends with some delicious fish to eat.

Thank you very much. 😊🎣
"Two weeks' worth of fish." Bloody hell, you eat well in your house!
Another fantastic video. What a lovely day for September.
Yes mate we do. 😊🎣
I bumped into Spargo today in Falmouth town. What a lovely chap even let me get a selfie 😃
Jim is simply wonderful. One of the best men I have ever known. 💙
@@TheFishLocker last week I seen Hannah in Truro Tesco buying some cleaning products but I didn’t have the balls to say anything 😂.
BTW...Think method of dispatching fish quickly you were describing @ 17:45...ikejime/ikijime=Ee-kay-jee-may/Ee-kee-jee-may & Japanese in origin. Some fishers here, in Hawaii, use this method or Bonking over the head w/short-handled(24-36in) bat. Some get it right(1-2x) but majority take 4-5 swings....A-L-O-H-A from Hawaii!
Haha. Yeah I’m sure some guys just like giving an extra one for good luck 🤣
Lovely day and plenty for the table, what more could you ask for
Beats me mate. Perfect day imo 💙🎣
Sundays would not be Sundays without Mr Fishlocker. Always brilliant a true legend. Can't say enough how great I think your content is. But if we don't see Jim cooking that fish in spargo kichen I'm out of here!!! 😂🎣🦞👍🏻🤣
Haha. Jim has permission to just come and help himself to the freezer now. 😊🎣
@TheFishLocker love that!! Your channel is brilliant mate can't give you enough respect 👏🏻.
Almost a perfect video, just needed the house chef showing how to cook the prize catches! Hello from Houston, Texas

Made my evening this video has.
Another great installment.
I'm slowly convincing the Mrs that a boat is a great idea. We went out on a charter yesterday and she loved it. All inspired from you.
Thanks mate.
Kev
Good for you Kev, have you shown her the videos with Hannah and James on the boat? We love it.
I have mate. She loves your videos too, she is really getting into sea fishing and enjoying it. Its great to have a hobby together. My youngest boys are getting there too. It's such a great sport
Having a cider and watching this video! Good chill out time! Always look forward to the next one!
Thank you.
11mins in... "Just a little Pollack"... LOL!!! If only!! (still watching) As ever John, each of your videos is an education. Little 'nuggetts' of information throughout, most of which are totally logical if one takes a moment to think it through!! But - as ever... superb John. My thanks once again - and... my Best Wishes to all the family.
Every day is a school day mate.
On a serious note, if you live long enough you will become a legend. A fishing guru. Durham made.
Or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
Cracking pollock John….👍💯❤️
Cheers mate.
Not another boat in site....Love it !
My thought too

Thanks mate.
Superb fella. Great fishing and it looked a cracking day. 👍🎣
Stunner of a day mate.
Thanks John
Any time Dennis. 😊🎣
My goodness. The eyes on those pollock are amazing
They are wonderful fish aren’t they.
Help a land-locked mountain boy understand...I thought if you touch a jellyfish you get stung??? Are you just used to it? Thank you as always for sharing, John. Tight lines and full pots!
There are some jellyfish who do not sting, but also, only the tentacles sting. Not the top.
Nice one John, watching these videos I feel I’m there with you. You & the family take care.
Thank you and have a wonderful day.
Another Great Video... Thanks. I still want one of your Black Fish locker Polo shirts 🙂 One day they will be in the Store !
They are all navy blue mate. Keep an eye out on the Fishlocker Fb page. I’ll do another bill order before Christmas 👍🏻

Regards to all your family as well John & cheers, Don from South Aust.

Lovely fish John wish i lived near the sea but I am to old now, hardly eat any fish these days for to much money, I will look forward to next video.
Good fish is expensive if you cannot catch your own.

Haha John goes quite … good fish , nice trip out mate.
Haha. Concentration face. 😉
You live an enviable lifestyle John.
People would like the life I live now, but not the one I had to live to get here. 😉
While I love watching your fishing videos I look forward to your crab pots, it’s the excitement of not knowing what you have caught.
We have had some thefts lately. Until I can deal with the people responsible I wont be doing any more.
Really enjoy my time with you on your boat. 😊
I am glad you enjoyed joining me.
Cracking fish there john 👌👌
Cheers bud.
Wonderful trip John. I have an idea for you. You could use some flat head self tapping screws and install a metal yard stick to your platform and keep yourself from fiddling with a tape measure. ❤. Much love to you and James Lizzy and Hannah. Big hugs to you for sharing the trip. I’m going to be ordering a sweatshirt soon. It’s finally getting cook here.
I have a plan for something just like that. Shows great minds thinking alike. 😉
Great catches greetings from Germany
Thank you Sir.
Brilliant videos as usual,as soon as I turn Utube on yours are the first video's I go to, brilliant when you've got your son with you, I'm trying to work my way through all your videos

It is wonderful
Morning, great video again . Hopefully bump into you at the boat show tomorrow.
Matt from Weymouth 🍺
😊👍🏻🎣
Fantastic day out John. Excellent catch for the day. You can see why Cornwall is so popular with the weather. Last Sunday we had just over 20 degrees in Amble, gone down and got wet since. 👍
You wouldn’t say that if you had been here today. 🤣⛈⛈
Thanks again ❤
My pleasure.
Yum. 👍
Have a good one bud.
What a beautiful start to the day, fine weather & a blue backdrop. Savour every moment John. Great days fishing, made up your plans came to fruition, top fish, top tips as ever. Thoroughly enjoyed it, cheers & thank you 👏👏👏
Thank you Stephen, on a day like this you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else would you. 😊🎣
Great fishing,
Cracking Bass and Pollack 👌🎣
Thanks mate.
Evening John. Fantastic video with some great catches. Happy to see you back doing what you love to do. Great weather, I have to admit I didn’t know about the ball of loose line that would change to a not and then break the line. I hope this email finds you. Curious to see that new scar at the back of your nogin … Good luck and God bless. R
Every day is a school day my friend. I’m covered in scars mate. I’ve lived a lads life. 😉🤣
Say no more. 🤐
I tried fishing a wreck for the first time yesterday, I didn't have much luck. Seeing you using the weight to get down now makes so much sense. Excellent information there I'll definitely be doing that next time. 👍🐟
Every day is a school day mate. 👍🏻🎣
I love when you're plan comes together. Great video.
As do I. 😉🎣
Nice one John. Another amazing trip out and some stock for the freezer happy days 😊😊😊
Thanks Dave. Glad you enjoyed joining me.
used to catch Pollock to make lovely fish cakes
Yes!!
All the lures work
Not true
@@TheFishLocker Depends on the depth and colour I Usually do gamefishing
I’m not a fisherman John but love all your content.
Thank you very much Paul.
Nice one john just as we like em catch and release or catch and cook crack on
Cheers Barry, have a good one bud. 👍🏻🎣
Another great watch John, really enjoyed this one.
Thanks Stuart. 👍🏻🎣
Another great video from the expert, a super days fishing, well done. I know that I've mentioned this before but back in the 1950s/early 60s the approach to bass fishing was completely different. The ideal keepers were in the 30-35cm range, pan sized. Anything bigger was always put back, by the way there weren't any size limits back then, or number restrictions. We also ate wrass.
These things will always evolve as more is known about the life cycles and fisheries.
@TheFishLocker Yes you're right.
Good eats 😋
The best!!
I can tell that you can identify when it's a wrasse that hooks up, but can you tell us what their hit feels like that is so distinctive? A video where you explain the different species line-bite feels would be really cool.
It’s the ragged bite and strength that gives it away.
A very nice video as always John. Thanks 4 sharing and nice fillets by the way😊. Greetz from Stipo, Holland
Petri heil. 👍🏻🎣
I find myself waiting for your next video, not just for the content, but also the knowledge you have. You also have a great way of presenting the whole package. I don't mean to be nosy (as my wife says, she's not nosy, she's interested) but if you're non-commercial how do you make a living?
I am really glad to hear you enjoy the videos. My profession is engineering. 😉
@@TheFishLocker You certainly engineer your life well! Keep up the good work. I remember taking my wife and her mother and father to Cornwall - towing caravan - and wondering, as we came over the hill, why they were plowing the fields in August! Everything was brown! Turns out it was a massive heatwave! 1976! You probably weren't even born them! Regards.
Some good information John, and a great days fishing thanks for the video.👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣
Cheers bud.
Amazing John! The value in your videos is the level of your explanation and talk through. As a fishing channel, second to none. I'm just down the coast in Devon, so may see you on the water one day. I'd love your advice on how to fish my local wrecks!
Haha. When I get down your way I shall fish some and tell you how I get on. We fished a wreck called the Murree with Happy Days out of Dartmouth in a recent video for Conger eels. Did you see it?
I really enjoyed that John thanks for sharing. I have to ask, is there a specific way of holding the jellyfish or is it they were small and don't sting? 🤔
I've never managed to learn how to use those bait cast reels properly... amazing video, as always !!!!!!!
It does take a bit of practice. 🤣
Another great video to watch John, well done on such a great catch. 😊
Thank you very much Caroline. 😊🎣
always great to watch ur vids and its great trying out new rigs
I am glad you enjoy them.
Please do more about Jellyfish!
I shall.
Awsome fish 🐟🎣
Thank you very much.
Quality video pal, we was over in coverack when you was out and the jellyfish there was bonkers huge rafts off them in for a couple of days then disappeared lol 😂
Cool to see weren’t they.
They really was the kids were throwing them at each other in the harbour 😂😂
the mangles, mad place
Almost as mad as the locals
maybe, had a great week in Falmouth last week@@TheFishLocker
Great catch John!
Thanks mate.
