When I worked at Gremlin Interactive here in the U.K. in 1996, we bought a Japanese imported PSX which came with Parodius and TEKKEN. I recall how vibrant Parodius looked and how amazing it sounded with it’s quirky soundtrack.
Only the Saturn port nailed the underwater waviness from the arcade, no other version does sadly. Likely the PSP version as well since it uses the PS1 version.
Sorry for being stupid here but I'm a bit unsure after reading your video description and I just want to make sure I understand it correctly. You say that the European release of the PSX game was released as Parodius, with Parodius Da! being simply titled as Parodius and Gokujō Parodius as Fantastic Journey. So is Parodius Da! that's titled as Parodius in the video, the same Parodius that was known as Parodius: Non-Sense Fantasy on the SNES in Europe?
The movie called Penguin's Memory was propably Konami's product. It had references to Twinbee at one part of the movie. Slot machines clearly have bells and fruit icons from Twinbee. Parodius might not be linked with the movie, but the penguins have always been present in the game series.
That mean girl mermaid is blocking our way and she’s not letting us go pass there’s a big mermaid tale she’s making giant waves I am the evil mermaid and I live in the sea get past me you got to do the mermaid dance get past the mermaid we’re going to have to do the mermaid dance
Yes is from the UK. Only two versions were released physically. One in Japan and the other in Europe. The Japanese version for PSX is way cheaper on ebay
Man, this game was pure unadulterated fun.
Many thanks for the longplay!
Wow! The sound effect came form this game!😲🤯

I prefer this version to the SNES version. It’s the graphics I’m talking about.
Me too. But i hate the bilinear filter i was using. What was i thinking? It looks like painting haha
Same, I also prefer this version of the masterful OST.
Caramba, eu jogava isso no Super Nintendo e nem imaginava como que teria para psx 😮😢❤

heh, I love how Parodius games are the result of Konami saying stuff like "Ballerina Panda? yeah, throw that in there".
We need a HD Remaster 4 Nintendo Switch 😯👍

does this have anything to do with that "penguins in 'nam" movie
