- Some people are leaving Christianity over doubts about their faith or questions they can’t seem to answer. But it doesn’t have to be that way. In this message, we’re learning how to hold onto what’s true and build our faith.

To be loving and applying empathy as much as possible like Christ

Through much of this crazy division, its been to be Right. I noticed thats not how to help those who are lost find god or kindness at the very least. I am now reading my bible and finding a path again.
The most spiritual day of my life was the day I walked out of the church.

@@VintageMusic729 I get why you might say something like that. However, I don't necessarily think your statement is true and this is why. There are Christians who truly believe with every fiber of their being that if they didn't follow Jesus they would be horrible people unable to stop themselves from doing bad things and committing crimes. I've known Christians like this who have told me that if they weren't following Jesus they would be drug addicts harming their bodies, or out stealing or, sad to say, committing violent crimes. There is no way to convince them otherwise. So for them, the Christian faith is like a system that helps them to behave in ways that are beneficial for them and society. Unless someone could convince these people that they can be good without their God, then I think being a Christian is the best possible course of action in their case.

good, reliigon is a myth and gods arent real
One of the reasons people misrepresent God / are confused about God is the horrible translation errors in our bibles made by clerks of "a certain denomination".
They had no clue about God's intend, so made it fit their conviction.
Luckely the original line is clearly visible.
1: God created us after His own image and likeness. Gen 1:27.
2: Man fell. That is what you see in this world: lust, greed, selfishness, strange philosophies, sicknesses, corruption, terrorism, death, etc, etc. Genesis 3.
3: God, the spirit of life, manifests fully in Christ, pays the debt for mankinds fall so we can be indwelled again by His Spirit and be transformed back to origin. John 14-17.
Pure grace, love, power of God for His creation.
Hence the divine healing miracles and casting out of demons His first friend, i and many others experience up to this day!
Some examples of these idiotic translation errors.
Saved, from the Greek Sozo actually means: made complete, brought back to origin.
Eternal life from the Greek Zoë means: life of God, divine life.
"You will see Jesus coming on the clouds" actually reads: "You will perceive Jesus from a heavenly perspective"... who He is, what He did, who you are IN Him.
"Everyone not found in the book of life will be thrown in the lake of fire" actually reads: "Everything not found in the book of life....". Every lie we believed about God and ourselves will vanish through Jesus's truth.
Wrath from the Greek Orge means PASSION. So there is no wrath of God upon mankind. God IS love!
Wrath from the Greek Thumos also means PASSION. There goes the "bowls of wrath" poured out by God over humanity... it's "bowls of boisterous PASSION" through Chris that are poured outt!!!
Etc, etc, etc, look it up in the Kittel Theological Dictionary or in any Greek/Hebrew Strong's app. It's there.
So now we have ignorant preachers parotting the lie that we have to be saved from God's wrath by Jesus (who is God....) and "have to repent or go to hell". Utter nonsense.
In stead it is: God restores us through Christ by His own atoning blood sacrifice and indwelling Holy Spirit, from mankind's fall, to His own image and likeness (Christlikeness) because of... passion.
For God so loved the world....
God cannot be tempted to do evil....
There is no turning or shifting with Him....
If you don't love you don't know God, for God is love....
The goal of all instruction is... love
The Father Himself loves you....
Jesus healing all..... love
Jesus raising the dead..... love
Jesus casting out demons.... love
Jesus controlling nature..... love
If wrath would be in God, it would be the tenth fruit of the Spirit.... and it is not!
Etc, etc , etc.

My friend and her husband are happy, easygoing Christians. They are upper middle class. Her husband owns an architectural firm. Every Sunday they take their boat to the lake and enjoy nature. It's not a huge boat, just enough to take a pleasant trip on a quiet Sunday. I think they really believe that Christ's yoke is easy because they are so peaceful and happy. Some Christians are envious of them, but the husband worked very hard for years to achieve the success they have.
I left Christianity 12 years ago. Came back to the church last September, felt a calling to come back. This message impacts me in ways you can’t imagine.

This sermon struck me as a very powerful chord. My family has been broken a very long time due to the death of a sibling as a child. Please father heal my parents who's hearts have harden at the loss of their baby girl towards you, my brothers and I for our loss of not ever having the chance to know our older sister. In Jesus name I pray for you to please heal all our hearts and help us push through our doubts. Amen.

After nearly 40 years believing and professing that I was a Christian, this past year, after a lot of introspection I came to terms with and accepted the reality that I was no longer one. It was a relief and I feel contented. So many years of squashing my doubts. So many years of hearing and reading so many Bible studies, sermons, lectures, books and responses from theologians, apologists and more that felt incomplete or forced. Flawed suppositions and blind acceptance countered with critical thinking. I doubted because there were passages and interpretations that made no logical sense. I lived with doubt and anxiety. I am happier now as an agnostic. My future, my death, my potential eternity does not worry me, and I was raised in a fundamentalist church that preached the wailing and gnashing of teeth in hell.
Doug, I can empathize with you because your story is almost identical to mine. However, I was not raised in a religious home, but rather an atheist/agnostic one. So I didn't have religion forced on me while growing up like many other people do. I fully made the choice to follow Jesus at one point in my life without anyone pressuring me. But like you I found living the Christian life to be unsustainable.

Australia, QLD, Sunshine Coast…I was thrown into Pentecostal religion as a child by my mother for many years, religion shoved down my throat, and those churches back then were far from safe for young girls as is my experience so this message is very humbling and accurate. Grateful for this pastor, preaching as he does.

The very words of Messiah. Don’t look at hypocrites when you are a sinner saved by Grace yourself; eyes on the Christ, nowhere else.
Personally, I stopped worrying about the hypocrisy of the church many years ago when I heard these words:
“If there is a hypocrite standing between you and God, who’s standing closer to God, you or the hypocrite you have chosen to observe?”
Think about that.

You can't even answer because your intelligence keeps you from any possible truth. christians why millions commit suicide because of being miss led and never answered like they are told they would be because its a lie.
I did the same thing. I ignored what other people said and just focused on God. That led me away from Christianity. Best thing that ever happened.

My mom and dad would always answer any question that my brother and I had by finding it in the Bible and sharing the actual scripture with us. Sometimes when we read a verse it helps us in that moment no matter what it is we are going theu! Thank You Jesus for never giving up on me

probably just because that the way you were taught to believe. Can take years for people to get over it.
I have had spiritual doubts. I had an incident happen to me at a young age that I haven’t told anyone and I lost my way. This has brought me to absolute tears talking about spiritual deconstruction. I want my life to lead with Jesus. I want to connect with faith. I’ve been very hopeless for many, many years. This is the second Sunday I watched. I did not have no Joe until this coming all over the place took place and they called it receiving a spirit of Christ from somebody else other than Jesus that's when I started having my doubts. That's when I started getting frightened and did not understand what was happening to me so I was being touched but cannot see was touching

The answers that questioners and doubters are looking for can only be met with truthful facts, not more faith. Not anecdotes, not stories from a book, not encouragements to just have more faith. Objective Facts. Verifiable Truth. Reality.
I will always follow Jesus. He did too much for me and my family and the world. He is the answer to my prayers. He died on the cross to save all of us. How could we not love him and believe in him.
My brother has left and He needs prayer soften Him and humble Him take away barriers that he formed to block God. Amen

I needed this today !
My sister sent the link to me.
And unbeknownst to her, I am going in tomorrow morning to have tests run to see if I have bone cancer.
I've been in pain and seeing doctors for the last 4 months.
I've had to work from home the majority of the time the last few months.
I serve as the chaplain/character coach for a high school basketball program iny community.
And thru all of this DOUBTS have crept in !!!

Just an update
Cancer test came back clear & I've seen things REALLY IMPROVE this week in regards to the physical pain I've been in the last several months!!!
I had 17 years of doubt. I walked away from my faith for 17 years. Let me correct that, for 17 I tried my hardest to walk away, but God never let go of my hand no matter how hard and how many times I struggled to pull away from Him. I praise Jesus that He never lost His love for me even when I showed no love for Him.
Praise God for the work He's done in your life! We're grateful you're still living for Him!

I have walked in sin due to spiritual doubts and hurts. I keep seeing God through the lens of my own father: a good man but if I mess up, he's waiting for me to slip up so he can hit me. There are people who say that i am called to preach but I don't want to because I've lived all my life being preached to and it nearly destroyed me.

Speaking for many people who stopped or can't believe:. About the 15 minute mark., That is absolutely the reason why people leave the church.
Amen to that! You are so right 💯!!! I still believe, but even after 10 years of being part of music ministry, I suddenly went through a devastating life crises (not of my doing)…But rather than certain friends and elders of my church showing empathy and love, they (in the name of their piousness) turned it on me and began to judge and treat me like garbage. I have no room for ‘holier than thou’ attitudes by seemingly so many in our churches. Not very Christlike. Sad…

That's understanding. I've been there too, wondering where is God but i promise you based on my own life, He is there. I've learned living without God is pointless. When we are with God we can depend on Him, we are never alone, we have a hope and we can cry out to Him. Without Him, we don't have that. Keep going, one day at a time. All the love to you.

I’ve been going to this Church (Florida location) for 3 years now and not only has knowing Jesus saved my life but so has this Pastor. Brings tears of joy. I've been deconstructing for a long while now and I'm so glad he's addressed it the way he did. I have never been raised to embrace my doubts, but I felt it deep down that god was welcoming all of them, so no one could really shame or stop me. I still have many unanswered questions, but as I say everytime, I am still here because I've met god personally and I simply cannot deny that no matter how confusing it may seem sometimes, I know god to be loving, supportive, welcoming and forgiving. I trust him with all my heart, even, and especially, when I don't trust myself or the world's interpretations of him and his work. I can really sense a shift in Greg's teachings and it's extremely refreshing, keep up the good work. I love you ❤️

I'm currently struggling with doubt. I love Christ so much. I recently was evangelizing to a couple Mormons who knocked on my door. That led me to read the CES letter. Within that letter was a link to a video that spoke about prayer. It was talking about how people from all faiths (including Mormonism) have this deep sense inside them that it is true and the others are false. And he was stating how it's really our own mind that is answering that prayer instead of God. What would you say to someone who asks how we know prayer is answered by the true God and not our own minds? Also, what would you say to an atheist who claims there is no evidence and everything is faith-based. Life.Church has been so wonderful to listen to and I appreciate everyone who takes the time to respond to this.

God Bless you for following the word of God's command to evangelize! When you watched that video it opened up confusion for you. Father I pray in Jesus name that you would remove confusion off of her in Jesus name. Explain the Bible verse John 10:27 : My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. We know the Father's voice, He speaks directly to His children. It is us who are to distracted to hear from Him. I hear from Him directly. That is a gift of the Holy Spirit 2 Corinthians 10.
Also explain if that were true that it is our own thoughts, than John 10:27 would not be true and the whole Bible would be a lie. When in Numbers 23:19 : God is not a man, that he should lie. God is not a liar. If he doesn't believe what the Bible says, than is really a Christian (as mormon is supposed to be a branch of Christianity) then does he believe his own Bible that he reads?
As far as an Athiest, we are called to be the light to darkness and unbelievers. Ask him what proof does he want to see?They are more determined to not want to see it. They are really saying I don't want to be a Christian so I will debate it instead. You just be the light and he will see the peace in you and I want that. That is the best witness you can do! At the end of the day...it IS what EVERYONE w/a heart and soul is searching for even if they dont realize it. For it's THIS IN YOU that THEY WILL DESIRE ALSO. We are ALL ENERGY BEINGS. Sending/being this energy they will feel NO WORDS ARE EVEN NEEDED. So just be it and they will see and feel it too .
My answers to these questions are 1. If it is OUR OWN MIND ANSWERING OUR PRAYERS...I say to you... Arent WE ALL MADE IN HIS IMAGE .Isnt our MIND a part of our body of His image which is made by God. Is it our mind that gives us the power to have faith to believe in order for our prayers to be answered, if so who do you think puts it in our mind? BASICALLY, Where do you think the faith comes from and how does it manifest into our mind? ALSO, Arent we all part of THE BODY Of Christ? That being said isnt the mind part of The Body? Didnt he tell us to pick up OUR cross AND FOLLOW HIM AND DO AS HE DID. THUS, Didnt he ANSWER PRAYERS. You see how this is pretty much just semantics that they were using TO CONFUSE YOU through PERCEPTION. You see how when you break it all down using scripture all they really did is CONTRADICT themselves while also at the same time allowing us to SOLIDIFYING the proof through The Word that BOTH STATEMENTS ARE CORRECT! This goes to show you how the TRUTH ALWAYS shines through even when its embedded w/in or perceived around a LIE. Isnt it beautiful how ALL THINGS circle around and point back to God. With that being said...think about it this way...what would they say about the prayers that ARENT ANSWERED? Is that JUST YOUR MIND ALSO? And 2ñd for the atheists saying there is no evidence...In my experience, I agree that THEY DON'T WANT TO SEE EVIDENCE. No matter what you say or what you show them 9xs out of 10 they will find a way to discredit or deny it as such. To me I always point to ppls TESTIMONIES AS PROOF. However. They will explain away ea and EVERY ONE as either 1. A lie 2. Coincidence (I believe there is no such thing) or 3. It's just luck. I like to challenge them to the other side of the spectrum of their non belief by questioning them how can they PROVE or KNOW that God ISNT real? Then I like to back that up w/the old saying "dont knock it until you try it." Cuz w/o FAITH YOU WILL NEVER FIND/SEE/HEAR proof in order to believe.. You cant convince somebody to believe if they don't want to. They must be AT LEAST open to the possibility . To me, FAITH AND PROOF GO HAND IN HAND. So in a sense YES they are correct..the proof of his existence IS FAITH BASED. Its THROUGH THIS VERY FAITH that The Lord manifests himself. Also, What we sow we will reap. Atheist dont want to believe cuz they say there is no proof or cuz they cant see him. What about all the historical geographical findings that back The Bible ? Isnt that evidencef ? No, not to them. It's not enought. Well, what about the wind you cant see it. You only see what it causes and/or feels like. Also, what about, gravity same thing. There are so man examples. Basically, it all comes down to a persons personal reality of belief (of which technically if you want to go deep...stems from their life experiences stored in their subconscious mind) which steers their perception and semantics used to stand behind such belief/non belief. I truly hope this makes sense and I didnt go too much into the psychological aspect of it to only confuse you more, however IT ALL does play a part. This is why we must pray for THEIR UNBELIEF and for Him to FORGIVE THEM , FOR THEY DO NOT KNOW. Sending peace, love and understanding to you. God bless.

I have been going through a time of examining my faith. I was a bus kid in the 70s and have attended church and lived a Christian walk since I was 12. I am now 56 and have experienced soooo much loss and death in the last 3years that I began to doubt and have questions. I played the piano every Sunday and wore a mask in my local church. I have stepped back from church fellowship for a period of 3 months to spend 5 hours on Sunday mornings by myself to address my doubts one by one. Through prayer, encouragement from fellow believers, listening/reading materials like the books Case for Creator, I Don’t Have Enough Faith To Be an Atheist, God’s Crime Scene, etc. I have had many of my questions answered. God has honored my seeking.
