Do not trade on Robinhood , they are a bad broker as they sell your order to HFT firms that then route your order through an ECN (basicaly an exchange) that makes them money so if they are not able to get a fill with your order that makes them money , your order will remain unfilled until that time . They are a horrible broker along with any other free brokers that sell your order to a third party .

I have a question ok I buy the stock or stocks and that's it they are mine or do I have to pay monthly the price of the stocks that I'm holding? For example I buy a stock at $6 do I have to pay $6 every month to hold on to my share? I ask because my wife works for Walmart and they offer her to buy shares but they pull out of her check every month for that stock from my understanding.

Regarding Robinhood
I started a transfer to my Robinhood account from my bank account and I used their instant money option while I wait for the funds to transfer from the bank. The funds from my bank will start to transfer after a day I believe.
If I buy stock with Robinhoods instant money and the stock decides to take a dump, will I get penalized if I take the “to be transferred” money from my bank and keep it from being available to transfer?
Would I only get charged the $9 reversal fee?
And the only thing I’d suffer besides the reversal fee is the ability to have instant money for the next 30 days?
I was trying to get in on a supposed pump and dump, but I think it started dumping after I got in. So since I was using instant deposit money I won’t suffer the loss right, if I prevent the transfer on my end?

Hey Ian! That's great, congrats on taking the first step to investing! I'll definitely make a video in the near future explaining dividends and growth stocks. Dividends are sort of my preferred method of investing but I'm sure ill cover growth stocks at some point too. Either way, congrats on getting started!
Some stocks give dividends, which is a small amount of money you get from the company usually each quarter if you own the stock. Another way to make money off stocks is to buy the stocks, then wait for the stock to increase in price, then you sell, which gets you a profit.

Can you lose more money than you put in the app? For example, if I invested $100 in Apple, and they go bust tomorrow, is the most I can lose $100, or can I end up owning after a stock goes belly up?

Hi I’m a college student and this will be my first time using this app. My question is “ what companies should I try first?”
Depends on what you can afford. There are companies you can invest in now to hold on long term or short term that are undervalued right now, like Boeing, any oil & gas company, and semiconductor companies like Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturer (they supply all the giants like Apple, Nivida, and Qualcomm). Now is a good time to buy an oil company stock because oil price is always cyclical. Once the cost per barrel goes up, you can sell whenever, and when it goes down, you can buy it again. Also the best thing is to buy into companies you believe in or use. And do a lot of research before you buy! Robinhood's research feature isn't enough
