0:39 - You can bet that this is what I was dreaming about Christmas of 1987. And yep, I got one that year, along with The Legend of Zelda. I later bought Metroid with my Christmas money. Atari and Sega certainly tried, but nothing could dampen my enthusiasm for the big N back in the day. Merry Christmas, everyone!
yusakug Yep! I too thought Nintendo was the best system, plus they had more better games than the other systems like River City Ransom and Out of this World.
God I remember that claymation Fruit Roll Up commercial like it was yesterday. It's amazing when watching these old commercials you haven't seen since the 80's, how you can finish off the song or dialogue considering its been 30 years since the last time you saw them!
I always loved those Lazer Tags commercials as a kid; I thought I was seeing a glimpse into the future where televised Lazer Tag tournaments would be a global phenomenon (bigger than the Superbowl) and people could become world famous Lazer champions; I remember my 7 year old self thinking "one day I'll make it to the Lazer Tag tournament!"
Thanks. This was a tape originally recorded by my aunt and uncle, and one of the favorite tapes that my cousin had growing up...so it's nice to have a definitive recording date. Would you be able to date the contents found at the end of this tape, seen in Vol. 780 in the first half of the video: th-cam.com/video/bvWoldmwlO8/w-d-xo.html ? The movie playing during this block was probably titled "The Great Chase" in the TV listings.
27:23 - Video Art...This was notorious for being very cumbersome and hard to use. I particularly remember Siskel and Ebert did an annual holiday special, where they would try out different electronic gadgets, and one year, they tried this product out, and could not get it to work right on their show.
I had that Race Car Track set 26:51 that went up the wall and through all those loops. It took a little practice to get around the whole thing but it was awesome. The version I had glowed in the dark.
Lazer Tag-wouldve loved to see this premise expanded into a tv series back then("Rookie" is played by Atreyu/Boxey himself,Noah Hathway) The Jetsons-that current DC revival book is surprisingly good Bionic Six-i envision Jon Hamm,Laura Dern,Jojo Siwa and Justin Bieber playing Leader One,Mother 1,Rock 1 and Sport 1 respectively if this were to become a live-action film.. Jill-wouldve made for another great"killer doll" film(..from the creators of CHILD'S PLAY..)
Boy, do I have some things to say about this one! First, we'll start with Orko. I can see why the likes of Toad and Oogtar turned out the way they did. Because they followed Orko's example. Now, let's talk about the dolls...particularly Cricket and Jill. These two would make Chucky look "warm and friendly". Finally, there's Video Art by Laughin' Jokin' Numbnuts. You would be better off using MS Paint or an Etch-A-Sketch than that thing. But why waste my time talkin' about it when the Nerd already said everything you need to know about it.

Im going to watch the He-Man Christmas Special tonight. Good memories.

These aired on Friday, 11/27/87. The He-Man Xmas special ran the day after Thanksgiving at 3 PM hour, in the Heathcliff/Scooby-Doo time slots.

@@80sCommercialVault Sorry, all I can find is "Martial Arts Theatre" in the TV listings for KRON in 1986. "The Great Chase" doesn't come up.
Thanks for looking anyway. The portion with commercials on that tape is unfortunately very short, so there's not much else to go on.
Awesome. Simply awesome. I remember as a kid watching the Nintendo commercial and dreaming about the NES. Merry Christmas to all.
Oh man, that Lazer Tag commercial. Never thought I'd see that again.
I love watching the old 80's commercials more better then the commercials today

The Lazertag commercial at 4:59 is incredible.
Since I'm watching this block right before bedtime, I have a feeling Jill might end up haunting my nightmares.
Wonderful batch of commercials!
Merry Christmas and thanks for the great uploads.
Fruit Wrinkles were so good!
Nice Xmas gift, thx. Happy Holidays to all!
I’ll take what ya got! As always, thanks for posting these awesome videos!
18:30 This LEGO commercial is a classic! All 80s kids remember this catchy jingle. I wonder how long they used it?
I don't know why, but they changed the name at least twice since this one. First it was _Zack_ , then _Mack_ and finally _Jack_ .
This aired on my 2nd birthday!!
...on my 5th birthday
I remember really noticing the red-haired girl in the Jill doll commercial, and she turned to be Jenny Lewis.
Crazy that I can still recite some of those jingles...the useless info we are programmed to remember. 😏
Loved watching the Bionic Six before school. 😁
Thanks for another great collection!
And wishing you a MEryy Christmas!
Man as a kid I wanted those sonic rangers so bad!!!
Nice to see these again! Max Backtalk looked awesome!

i loved lazer tag as a kid
Tyco R/C Turbo Hoppers....Yaaaahoo!
The boy sitting on the couch with grandma at the beginning of the Cabbage Patch Kids commercial looks so familiar but I can't place him! 🤔
not sure who he is either but the black girl is Ashley from Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

there was an animated series for lazer tag back around 86
I know,i was referring to the premise in that commercial,if it were made into a live-action series
oh how id love to see a cool live action version i know what ya mean the show would be epic
me too oh so many great and happy memories
I have to say, bionic six probably ranks up there as my favorite growing up, if not top 3!
Can I say I feel old? I would have been 7 when these originally aired.
this video is ironic...talking about how great toys R us is...fast foward to the present and all the toys R us stores are now shutting down
Toys R Us isn't closing because it wasn't great. It's closing because a vulture capitalist firm sucked it dry.
12:57 The Atari 2600, a console that didn't need to continue existing in 1987, not with all the games Nintendo was bringing out for their console.
Transformers lost me around this time. The Headmasters thing just didn't have the impact as the G1 stuff.
I loved fruit wheat cereal 😀
Lots of esoteric knowledge ‘coded’ in this compilation of prophecy & brilliance!! Well done warlock #notwizard
Cinderella only at a theater near you, wow
I was born in November of 1987
I had the Visionaries toys

I would love to see a knock-down dragged out catfight brawl between Cricket and Jill...Hopefully they would wind up destroying each other...
25:57 That looks like a bad idea.
LOL
the jill doll is creepy as fruck
OH BOY!!! FREE STAMPS!!! 🤣
