    Just ordered this board since most boards are sold out. Doing my first build in 20 years. Pairing with a 3600, 16gb DDR 3000 MHz memory, 1660 Ti GPU. Building a virtual pinball with a Vizio 4K 39” tv. Think I will be ok? Great video and thank you.

    Nice review - I'm doing a build tonight with this board. I love the lazy susan with frame stand - that actually looked pretty pro. I'wish I had one of those fancy lighted magnifiers too. I'm getting to old to read these instructions and the print on the board!

      Yeah some MB's have the Front Panel connectors in big print so it's easy to see, but not many, I have issue's every time, even though I know where they go...got the lazy susan from Amazon, and the stand from the dollar store lol...it works well though...Thanks and have fun with your build...

      So if you have this motherboard, you don' t need to remove it to install the CPU, it can make it easier but that depends on your level of skill and knowledge. If your using a CPU Cooler that needs the Brackets but there not there you can buy them on Amazon for about $7.00 Hope that helps. Sorry did I hear correctly, this has two gen4 M2 SSD slots? If yes great coz ye first slot may be an issue for your gpu to fit proper. Read a review on amazon uk that the gpu could not fit if the m2 nvme has simple heat sink

    • @Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM

      It has M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen4 x4 & and M.2 SATA3 6.0Gb/s module M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen4 x4 so unless I got it wrong yes...Yeah the way it's situated using the M.2 with a raised Heatsink on the M.2 would not allow the GPU to go in, I used a M.2 with just the heatsink from the MB and it worked great though...

    • @Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM
      @Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a huge question with way to much to put here so to put it in a nutshell, It'd be a 3% loss from the x16 to the x8 on the other slot...however with a GPU that can do PCIe 4.0 you'd see as high as a 11% loss, it would be very difficult to notice to the eye for the most part though...a loss of about 40FPS in general though...

      You can go direct to the Manufacturers website to download the driver's, the DVD just makes things easier in the beginning, but the website will have all the same software, will just take a bit longer to do...it's normal to get stressed building a PC, it happens to me all the time, there's always some little surprise I didn't expect, although not so much lately because I've now had more experience with the different products...so don't worry take your time and you'll do fine and once you've built it you'll be proud you did...although then you'll be addicted to want to do it more lol...Have a great day...Thanks...

    Can anyone come across such a question: ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 mother, Ryzen 2600 processor, on the first M2 slot (from the processor) the SDD speed is 3500 and 3000 mb / s, on the second M2 slot (from the chipset) and also in the second PCI slot -E3.0x16 through a PCI-E M.2 adapter in PCI-E3.0x4 mode, the same SSD picks up speeds of 3000 and 2500 mb / s. Why is this and what could be wrong?

    • @Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM
      @Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure I can provide a good technical answer to this, but the first slot is usually faster then the 2nd M.2 slot. Normally it'd be that one was PCIe 4.0 and the other PCIe 3.0 but the specs say they are both the same so not certain unless the M.2s are rated differently. Which I could offer more.

      Also my cpu cooler won't face the back of the case in this board, the Hyper 212, it has to blow either toward or away from the GPU. wtf Asrock!

      @Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, there are some out there talking about VRMs most of which will never have an issue unless doing Hard Core Over Clocking...This is a great MB, I have built a system in it, and it runs fabulous, mind you I don't have a Ryzen 9 3950X in it, which only means that you'll get a bit more heat from the CPU none of which should be a worry...keep an eye on the temps and as long as there not extreme which they shouldn't be, then your fine...if they seem to high, then getting an aftermarket CPU Cooler better suited for this CPU is an option, or a water cooled system is another option...Overall, you will be very happy with this MB imo...hope that helps...Thanks...

  • @MrDaedalusWren
    @MrDaedalusWren 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Everyone always brings up the VRMs as a downside of this board. Some even going so far as saying that the massive heat sink will not do much by way of cooling. Ummm, Ok. As soon as I hear that I stop the video and move onto someone that may know what they are talking about. Been in the industry for over 30 years and that heat sink is heavy. Make sure you have good air flow in the case and you should never have issues with them unless you are wanting to massively overclock. In that case, if you have the inclination, a water cooler on them will work perfectly. Next Video. P.S. The two USB connectors below the gigabit ethernet RJ45 connector are not Gen 1, they are Gen 2.

    bad layout. DIMM sockets too close to the PCI=E slot and back IO sockets also to close so hard to fit in a decent GPU.
    dont event try to fit water cooling cause the DIMM and CPU power socket and IO cooling plate is too close to the edge of the MB stopping the radiotor and fan from fitting.. corsair carbide 200 case. recomemened water cooling for it is the corsair H60i RGB pro XT. it wont fit cause of the MB layout being crap.
    Had to make adjustments to get the cooler to fit. radiotor fitted inside the case and the fan outside.. So instead of screwing the fan to the radiotor then screwing the assembly to the case i had to screw the fan to the radiotor from outside the case and make a hole for the cable to go through to fit inside the case.
    Cant change the BIOS setting to get the most out of my RAM and CPU cause it refuses to boot up unless i have default settings.
    Ryzen 9 3900XT 16GB trident Z RAM 3200Mhz but the BOIS only supports 1600Mhz. When i tried to make BIOS setting to get the RAM to work at the correct speed it refused to boot up just kept going back into BIOS.
    Another prob is it cant keep the correct time. Everytime i boot up i have to adjust the clock to the right time. IE yesterday the PC was saying 07.44 when the real time was 14.56. today it said 16.55 when it was 16.46.
    My old ASUS prime B350 plus gaming board is better. At least with that the liquid cooling fitted properly and it kept the correct time and could make changes to the BIOS to get the RAM at the correct speed.
    With this asrock MB making any changes to BIOS just puts it in a cycle of booting to BIOS and wont go into windows.
    Only got this board to try and get more power out of my CPU and RAM but its worse than my old MB.
    RAM speed doesnt even stay at the correct setting. sometimes its running faster than other times. IE sometimes its at 1500Mhz sometimes 1600Mhz. Even though BIOS has it as 2133mhz by default and refuses to let me boot up if i change it to 3200Mhz.
    It refused to even go to BIOS when i tried a Ryzen 7 3700x in it.

      So many things that you mention I never had a problem with, but we all have different experiences, I had no issue's with getting to the BIOS, or OCing my Ram, no Re-booting or time I could go on. From all the issue's you mention it actually sounds like you may have encountered a Bad MB for sure if your having this many issue's, and with so many issue's it makes me wonder if you might have a virus as some of this behavior sounds like that. It's unfortunate you have had this many problems but not reflective of what many will encounter.

      @@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM switched back to my old ASUS prime B350 plus as the asrock kept shutting down my PC when i tried playing games on it. MB temps in BOIS were 80C, CPU was only 50c. in windows it was hitting 90c. start a game after 15 mins PC rebooting cause motherboard temps hitting 95c. with the B350 MB temps r only 35c. so its a cooling prob with the asrock board.
      think part of the prob is the MB cant handle the 12 core ryzen 9 3900XT where as the B350 is perfecty fine with it. heard a lot of ppl r having the same prob with the ryzen 9 on the asrock board.
